I love fishing in Caithness for the wild brownies and sea trout but I’ve fished up in Orkney and the both of them are Ace and I travel up every year for the last 40 odd years and wouldn’t miss it for anything else I have been on great trips over the years to Canada and Alaska and again great fishing mostly on the fly we never done any spinning we didn’t need to but getting back to watching you guys we are all just the same we love these places we fish you just can’t beat it and I did enjoy your trip our trips have a bit more swearing 😂 but that’s just us mad jocks so tight lines for 2025 and stay safe 👍🎣🥃
@@123marlo Thanks Marshall! Glad you enjoyed the video. Trust me, there was plenty of swearing off camera! Scotland is a wonderful place to fish for sure. Tightllines!
I'm from Glasgow love my fishing never been to hoy, I actually caught a 5lb 8oz brown trout in loch lomond many years ago and it was one of my best fishing experiences 🎣 , that video brought back a few memories made my night thanks 😊 👍🏴
Great fishing & that's a stunning Brownie. It was out of the water for a long time though, well over a minute. Maybe something to be mindful of going forward.
@capturedonline You're very welcome indeed. It was hugely enjoyable, both for the sport and the camaraderie. Celts truly are the salt of the earth! Less than 2 mins into the video and i had subscribed 👍
@@lindsayiflyfish ah, thanks Lindsay, that means a lot coming from you! It was a challenge for sure (with so much footage), but I’m glad it showcases just how beautiful Hoy is 👍🏴
Thank for hints on braid. Tried it for first time last year, ended up replacing with mono, will try braid again. Great not to have a screaming angler as opposed to screaming reels. Perfect commentary My bucket list has become longer thanks to you. I carry my rods butt first in case I fall. Over the decades it saved a couple or rods. With advancing years I now use a wading staff and wish I had done it long ago Thank you for the brilliant video
@@robertblair2035 thanks Robert! Yes, mixed opinions on braid, sometimes it’s just easier and cheaper to use mono. Hoy is definitely worth a visit, dramatic landscapes and very quiet. Tightlines for 2025.
