I’m 1:30 in and all she’s done is evaded taking any responsibility. Blames any other source of fault other than anything to do with her. I feel nauseous. Dave seems frustrated, too.
I almost always agree with Dave. That being said, I take issue with his suggestion for this woman to tell her husband to "put on his big-boy pants." If a woman gets to the point where she has to tell her husband that, it's just about over. She would be questioning her husband's very masculinity. If I heard that, I would start packing my bags. Respect for each other is a must. Can you imagine telling your wife to grow up?
If you have a w2 job, get someone to teach you how to file you- pay them something. I have paid HR firms for so long and it took around 100 dollars. Then I got serious and learned to do so and now I realize how stupid I was to let someone else do my taxes by paying when it woud take 5 minutes for me to do them for free
I work for the government, and trust me. You don't want to mess with the government when it comes to money you owe them. my buddy got overpaid couple grand through out his career and luckily he kept it aside just incase, and one day uncle sam just pull the full amount in one lump sum. Ironically, when they owe him money, it took them six months to pay him back. weird huh?
"How can he criticize, he is not doing anything?" Well, he is out there earning money. Probably more than her. Once again Dave sides with the ditzy woman.
3:30 *Both need to be aware and take responsiblity for their joint finaces.* I feel for the husband, he suffers because of his wife's shady dealings & lies. Unfortunately, this is the woman he married and he is legally responsible for her shadiness. This is a divorcable offense for sure 🙅 What a waste to throw away a marriage for a "tax deduction." 🤦🏽♀
What happened it was she got audited for lying in her tax return. People do that to lower their tax liability and they have to return the refund given with interest and penalties.
The problem is that the husband is a little boy? Maybe so, but it seems like the wife has plenty of issues on her own, where she doesn't hold the moral high ground to talk down to him, with "Enough!" Do you think if Dave Ramsey's wife were hiding bills, that's the beginning of the chat he would want to hear???
Perhaps he has absolutely no clue what is going on with her finances, because she pretends that everything is okay. Maybe she could deal with the first IRS bill, but can't with the second. Shameful. People should be honest with each other, especially when it comes to money. Don't see any reason why not to be that way. She sounds a bit bloody whack if you ask me!
jezzermeii Exactly, she can't even hold it together talking to Dave. The husband should know better by now, granted. Still they have a division of labor where he works, she takes care of the bills. Had the husband called, and said that he was skipping work and hiding it from his wife, Dave wouldn't have said, "Tell your wife 'ENOUGH'! She is a little child not being more involved with this."
Dave, since she got away with it one year, and got some money from it, she tried it again. Well, old Uncle Sam got her and now they're looking for the two years of taxes erroneously filed. Smh
I have no clue how much money my wife makes. She will not discuss it with me and never has. She always has money to make the kids dreams come true but not always for necessities. Money is just one of the four major issues we have.
What do you mean you have no clue... Married people combine finances unless one is mentally ill or an addict. Do you withhold yours? Go sign up for marriage counseling before you end up 60 with no retirement. Edit: also what are you doing around tax time. You see the whole year of wages. Go look up your tax documents if you want. If she isn't filing jointly well that's a huge red flag because it's financially advantageous to do a joint filing. She out selling drugs?
Dave really pisses me off with his misogynistic and chauvinist ways of life. Why is the "man not the man", especially in this situation? A dead fly can see this woman is lying about many things to her husband. I bet she has a secret checking account somewhere, makes more money than he knows, etc.
Ok so say you don't figure out you are underpaying taxes until April. And you putter around for a few months, bam, second year of under paying. She should have had extra pulled for the rest of the year to make up for year 2. :/
It didn't sound like she could even get through the question without lying a few times.
Brian Waller I hope not.
As soon as she said, “What had happened was...” I knew she was gonna start lying 😂😂😂😂😂
Lying about serious money issues is grounds for divorce IMO.
Facts.
Sunny - lying about serious anything is grounds for divorce
Even in the phone call she wasn't being truthful. She trying to edit the story why she was speaking.
This lady is lying really bad. You can always tell when Dave has had "Enough" by the time he mutes the callers lol.
She's lying through this entire call, about it all.
Relationships and marriages are built on trust ! Come clean you’ll feel better once you do !

@Elaine McMurren why is she in the wrong? I missed this one
I always tell people, the couple hundred bucks you pay an accountant, will save you thousands in the long run.

Not weird. That's how Uncle Sam works. But at least he was smart to keep the $ to the side.
"How can he criticize, he is not doing anything?"

Simping

Wacko in Waco.
I actually don't think she was lying, she's just not great at explaining things. She said she was nervous
"We got in to a pickle"
Translation: "we lied on our taxes"
He’s not on board because she’s all over the board and may need meds. She’s incoherent. Wow......
What happened it was she got audited for lying in her tax return. People do that to lower their tax liability and they have to return the refund given with interest and penalties.
He's not helping, he's out there earning money
It wasn't "ignorance" it was greed.

thejokerspeaks You know the wife is super guilty. She doesn’t talk for the second half of the call - she just sorts Dave draw his own conclusions.
I think there’s more going on than what’s being presented in this phone call.
Dave, since she got away with it one year, and got some money from it, she tried it again. Well, old Uncle Sam got her and now they're looking for the two years of taxes erroneously filed. Smh
He's ignoring this? He doesn't even know about it?if she's intense why I'd there this huge problem
Classic Dave. Blaming the man.
Excatly this is on the wife period.
Love your stuff Dave! I listen often and when Im at the gym.
"Creative Math" = Tax Fraud
I have no clue how much money my wife makes.
She will not discuss it with me and never has.
She always has money to make the kids dreams come true but not always for necessities. Money is just one of the four major issues we have.
You better find out! Probably has a lot of credit card debt.

Divorce?
I bet she spends on strangers from like tinder
Eeesh, stuttering and rapid speech, keeps changing her story. I wouldn't want to be married to this lady.

From Waco, this call embarrasses me
Do you have to pay tax on stocks? Cause if you do I’m in quite the pickle also then 😹
Yes, on the interest earned on them
Ok so say you don't figure out you are underpaying taxes until April. And you putter around for a few months, bam, second year of under paying. She should have had extra pulled for the rest of the year to make up for year 2. :/
I go exempt ever year wife knows about it she didn't like it a first but she's ok with it now
She's the liar and the cheat and you're going to make her tell the husband he's the little boy? Tradcons.
