the thing about malians is that it has had a lot of different playstyles, and to some degree all of them are still viable.

I think what would help to make Mali would be a population buff in Imp and to change the way the extra pop is grown. The maximum pit mine income (without the landmark for 75) is at 560 ((140*4) 140 gold per large gold node and I think if memory serves its 110 for small nodes) while the maximum cattle income is about 1150 (or 22ish farmers worth). It could be nice if they did something like start you with a cow cap of 5 as opposed to 20 and then increased it by 5 every age until it hits 20 in IMP so it's less of a boom and more of a ramp like the actual pit mines. That could help encourage a second TC. On top of that I'd love to see Mali get a unique tech (or maybe an overhaul to the fortress of the hunt) in Imp that gives it the Goth treatment from AOE2 and gives an extra 20-30 population cap which could help to continue drowning your opponents in units in Imp as the 22 villagers worth of food and 560 gold cap by then is really "meh" at best. It might also help make the cv more complex if you were the cap on cows, population, and pit mines were all increased through techs with the tradeoff being that none of it is automatic but you have to pay for it - so instead of starting at a cap of 20 cows and one pit mine per age you pay increasing costs in every kind of resource until you have say 5 pit mines + the landmark, 25 cows, and 20-25 extra pop on top of that.
Honestly mali may need some buff some people question about if mali cow boom is worth against civs going 2tc because many players said that after cow boom nerf they can't match opponent 2tc till you properly harass them or some kind of damage
Maybe I am wrong as idk about tournaments but in diamond conq 1 around the above question is actually asked
Secondly I guess musofadi warriors need some armer may be devs increase their food or gold requirement or reduce bonus damage but come on some armer is needed otherwise till you don't combine sofas with them for sure you are about to see your army getting vapourised
In probably every combo sofas are needed in age 3 or above if you want to see some good engagements just because sofa can hold the line

we need more 2v2 with Core
I got 2 tc with cowboom in 3v3's, or if the enemy is ramping up exponentially in a 2v2. It is kinda nuts having farms and cows 🤣🤣
The repair nerf made them very weak. I like fights in imperial especially against Chinese. These days Ottoman have been fun in Imperial. They have very little units and plenty of Great Bombards a perfect ambush opportunity. I did not like the fact Gunners no longer able to shoot Bombards and Mangonels.

I only play Delhi an I almost always lose against Malians, no joke. What am I doing wrong? Platinum 1 btw.
I dint agree that they are one dimensional , malian trade is still pretty viable and sometimes catch people off guard. Only problem is its very easy to punish but 4k gold income in castle age is insane lol
my only problem is that there are no community anymore who plays this game. where can i find partners to do 2v2?

Imagine if AOE 4 was free to play..... I mean Beasty and Drongo could have easily had a million subs each ! We need to increase the Market Size somehow Relic.
