    Another fantastic video Tom. The crop rotation is something we experimented with very early, and 2 rooms makes it much easier.

"A weekly schedule/plan of cycles". I'm looking at expanding my little home set up to being a more substantial size to be able to be commercially reliable. Good on you! keep up the good work and best of luck with the business. I'm learning via youtube watching the same people and books just as you are. An exciting industry! Cheers.

    It's an interesting concept and since you are mainly growing one species i guess it could work, at the very least is better than FFTFF's way that if i recall correctly(maybe i'm mistaken) he moves bags from one room to another depending on different stages which seems insane! but if he makes it work good for him.
    Your way will work as long as you can keep the temps very stable, otherwise it's gonna get really messy and confusing, I personally don't trust my mushrooms enough to expect them to follow a schedule lol so you are a braver man than I, good luck with this and I hope it works out.

    • @OakandSpore
      @OakandSpore  2 года назад +2

      Moving bags by hand was one of the things that always got to me, so i decided the rolling rack system. With my setup I am aiming to keep temps around 18c all year. I have a 10kw heat pump feeding these two rooms.

    Thanks for adding my question to the video! It does make sense. I’m building a 40m2 fruiting room as well and had the idea of just one big room for all varieties but it makes sense to brake it up in two. Are you leaving the air vent on 24/7?

    • @OakandSpore
      @OakandSpore  2 года назад +2

      the air vents will be controller with a building automation controller and cycle up and down as the co2 rises and lowers.

    Hello, just finished building my mushroom farm northwest of Canada with shipping containers. I was thinking about your problem with the humidity and my idea for budget can be having 1000psi pump on a timer set up for approximately 75%humidity than having a fogger build on a rolling cart with a humidistat for 90%, easy to move and clean.

    • @OakandSpore
      @OakandSpore  2 года назад

    Hi Tom love your posts. I’ve got a couple of questions if you don’t mind answering? First of all, what height are your Ceilings on the New Fruit Rooms ? Secondly, is 100mm thick walls more beneficial, I noticed you went with 50mm walls. Cheers

    • @OakandSpore
      @OakandSpore  2 года назад +1

    Good stuff! I’m in the process of expansion with two shipping containers. Are you going to be having the humidifier tub inside the fruiting room or outside and feeding in with ducting and will you be making it so the preconditioned air is combined with air from humidifier or does it not matter too much if they are fed in separately, potentially at different times?

    • @OakandSpore
      @OakandSpore  2 года назад

      I think we will go to high pressure humidification.

    if you harvest for about 6 days out of 20, you could have three rooms and stagger them so that there is continuous steady harvesting. Although I guess you're doing the same by having 2 batches per room.

    • @OakandSpore
      @OakandSpore  2 года назад

      Hey Charl, how's the family going? I hope your bro ruan is staying out of trouble... its actually more than 6 days, but the video doesn't show the end of cycle before the first example (there should be another above it etc). Its about 9 days of first flush harvest, and about the same for second flush harvest out of every 20 days.
