@@Frye-uf1nf We already had the mafia in RDR 2 chapter 4. but that was only because we were in a big city and that’s their turf. As long as we stay away from the cities and keep the story within the 1910s when horses was still widely used especially outside of large cities than we will be fine.
Honestly, they could probably still make the game take place in that time period and still maintain the wild west-ish setting. Still have horses, small towns etc, but with modern guns like Thompsons and 1911s and mention of the war.
I thought they could have Jack go to a Franklin County type place where it still feels like the old west because only a handful of people had cars in that location that would be a better alternative
Might be alone here but I'm not even ready for RD3 yet, honestly I would take DLCs for RD2 and expansions (story and online) before talking of moving to RD3
The story of how the Dutch Van Der Linde gang began is what we need. There is noone in the community who would say no to playing as Arthur again. Or maybe like GTA 5 we swap between characters that would be welcomed. Maybe Arthur, Dutch and Hosea. Maybe the Calendar boys idk who knows but moving forward from Jack would be a mistake I believe. My vote is either for a Van Der Linde gang beginning or a completely new storyline which obviously means we will be waiting longer because Rockstar (minus Lezlie Benzies and Dan Houser) will have to create everything from scratch again. That'll add another year or two to the completion time alone...
I'd love for RDR3 to explore the early days of the Wild West, featuring a new protagonist and storyline. It'd be cool to see nods to the gang and maybe run into some of the members in certain missions, even if they're not the main focus. And it'd be really interesting to have a mission centered around the Blackwater massacre from the perspective of the new character.
You can still do that with og rdr1 and 2 characters because most of these characters have unfinished story or unexplained backstories for example I think young uncle would be a great character to be in rdr3 he can be uniquely done because we have no idea what he was like and he didn’t join the gang until he was a old drunk so we wouldn’t see any old characters
@@jesusshuttlesworth3100 Personally, I think Landon Ricketts would be a better option for the same reasons you put, except I think he has more potential as a character IMO.
Honestly, I want a new gang in the 1880’s-70’s. I think stories like young Dutch, Red Harlow, WW1 Jack, or Javier should be DLC. Edit : I meant like one or two of them being a DLC, not all of them. I just meant that i think the Van Der Linde gang shouldn’t have another game focused on them, which is why I said DLC, as the story could be expanded upon but not overused in that way.
The story of Red dead is deeper then just a wild west game. So NO you won't getting a prequel to Red dead 2. Don't forget RD series is probably gonna be a trilogy.
I'll never understand the modern mentality of preferring to pay more. People actually complain that there was no DLC in RDR 2, even though it was an amazing, lengthy, and self-contained story. How bout, if you want it separate, have the epilogue bridge the gap? Just like RDR1 and 2? Instead of paying more to get it separate.
I hope they just make it about some new gang, I would hate to see a continuation of Sadie or Charles’ story like some of the fandom seems to want for some reason.
right and expand to involve Mexico and areas across the Lannehacee. New characters for sure, just not any Hollywood: morerer "DIVERSE-Sadie" is boss KWEEEEN, all guys are fem or neutered....unless they include Dutch and Arthur dancing to "Poker Plans" as part of the main story, of course then i am IN!
One of the greatest protagonists i’ve seen thrown around would be Arthur’s father, Lyle Morgan. We know next to nothing about him, so it would be a pretty clean slate to start over with, while still allowing for some connections to the characters we already know. The little info on Lyle is given by Arthur himself, and it could all be taken with a hefty amount of salt, considering Arthur was so young when Lyle died. He also lived in the 1870~ era, aka the prime Wild West times. We know he was eventually hanged, but not much else, so he could have achieved redemption by then, because that is the main point of the series (it is called Red Dead REDEMPTION, after all). Overall, would be one of the coolest new-ish perspectives we could see in the third game.
And Arthur being really young doesn’t understand Lyle’s redemption, so he just remembers the bad stuff we hear about in RDR2. Perhaps Lyle did stuff to protect Arthur without him knowing. Fatherhood has been one of the themes in revolver and both redemption games.
It is going to be Jack Swift, they can take so many liberties with his story. They can do his whole background and give him a kid. They go up until he has to leave on the boat to America than swap to his kids perspective. Whole new story known character in read dead universe, has dead eye… perfect fit.
Red Dead 3 can't be about Dutch's rise. Because both of the games end with a tragic ending, and ending it with the Blackwater massacre would be out of touch.
@@PVPCatAgreed. By tragic i meant their death. Like, yeah you could make a game about Dutch Van Der Linde but we already know his story (Death and etc) and we cannot make it about his death because it is already mentioned in Red Dead Redemption 1. Then again it doesn't cover the story of redemption.
Tbh I would like it where you play as Arthur still but it ends as one of the Callander boys who didn’t escape and leaving it on a cliff hanger and him being loyal and such maybe
@@Boneheaded0 they are weak characters, story focused (one only ) main characters work because its only focusing on one person. What they should do is bring back the system, dlc's like Ballad of Gay Tony and Lost and the Damned.
I think we should play as Mac Calender. From what we know, he has the most similar story to rockstar’s ‘template’ for its character. Also, Jenny would fit the category, while also allowing for a more interesting story, due to Lenny’s thoughts on Jenny.
I would love a game with a new character that ran with Landon Rickets and discover that young Hosea was a part of their posse before Dutch, and we could have the epilogue as Hosea/Dutch recruiting Arthur and John as kids for their new gang in the same vein that John bought the farm in RDR2 epilogue
So where's the redemption part of RED DEAD REDEMPTION factor in there? Because the games must have the protagonist go from evil and violent into kind, empathetic and compassionate people.
Most of the time whenever I read someone say “let’s play as young Dutch or young Hosea or Mac Callender”, to me these ideas just sound so Eh. A pre-prequel as characters who we know for a fact what their ultimate fates will be doesn’t sound very appealing or original. But I like this idea. A new original character and story but with just enough ties to some familiar franchise faces. I like Hosea having a past connection to Landon Ricketts. And I even like your epilogue of Dutch and Hosea with young Arthur and John bringing things full circle. If you’re going to do a prequel’s prequel, this is the tone I would use as a good combination of new and familiar.
At first i read landon rickets and i was like WHERE WAS THE DEAD IN Red dead redemption and then i realized somebody who rode with him means they still could die
Two ideas I always personally liked are playing as a lawman in those times with maybe a mission/side activity or random sparse refrences to TVG and the blackwater heist. Another one I really like is the idea of playing as an escaped convict and having to barter about trying to surivive on your own through dark forests, mysterious towns and encounters with strange individuals
I think a cool idea would be that we play as a member of the odriscol gang and we can see the story of rdr2 unfold from a different story and viewpoint
I would love rdr3 to be based on Arthur Morgan’s younger life. It could possibly involve more about the son he had and the way he juggled being a father and a member of a gang. Or even Sadie or Hosea’s life before the gang. We could see how Sadie’s life was with her husband etc or see the growing friendship/ partnership Hosea and Dutch shared within the gang when taking in young John and Arthur
yeah but weren't theystill using handloads instead of cartridge based ammo back then? Imagine even older and crustier weapons than in the previous games. Sounds super lame.
It would either be: A whole new story. In 1870’s-1880’s, new protagonist/s. Maybe 1920’s if they wanted to do something unique. - OR, it would be Sadie in South America, maybe seeing Jack if he flees to South America to avoid being pursued/drafted. Probably the former. It might not even be called Red Dead “Redemption,” could be Red Dead something else.
@@JarringSteak Sadie is a great supporting character, there just is not so much to put into her for a story game, her life has basically turned into bounty hunting and nothing else, its kinda sad tho
Problem about after 1914 is that it would be difficult to Place RDRO, as if you add 1930 cars, you will not be able to add them in 1898,so it could be probably earlier. My idea for RDR3 is for Mac Calender to be main character, with his brothers joing the Dutchs gang, and at the end Mac sacrfing himself for Arthur,as when Arthurs horse died,Mac gave him his own horse and told him to flee, while he held of Pinkertons, alongside Arthurs iconic brown jacket was actually Mac. 10:12 edit, wrote this before you said this.
Rockstar, make this happen; the story of Red Dead 3 being a prequel to Red Dead 2 set in 1869-1899 about the Van der Linde gang origin formation and their moral code, Dutch's early young days before the gang and his love connection with Annabelle. Missions being the acquaintances of everybody, robberies of banks and trains, holding people ransom, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, association with Colm O'Driscoll turning into the bitter rivalry, killings of Colm's brother and Annabelle and the failed boat robbery in Blackwater during 1899. The game should have 3 playable characters, prologue parts 1 & 2, 2 chapters and epilogue parts 1 & 2. Title might need to be changed from "Redemption" to "Revolution" in order to fit the story better. Dutch as the character of the prologue - beginning Mac & Davey Callender as the characters of the chapters and epilogue- middle & end Red Dead Revolution (gang formation) 1869-1899 Red Dead Redemption 2 (gang downfall) 1899-1907 Red Dead Redemption (gang extermination) 1911-1914 Therefore the entire Van der Linde gang story is shown visually and all the dialogue has been visualised. Come on Rockstar. Make my dream a reality since 2014 when I played Red Dead 1 and 2020 when I played Red Dead 2.
I would love to see Jack as a young adult dealing with the effects of the western era coming to a sharp halt or maybe him teaming up with Charles and Sadie something like that I just it would be interesting to see Jack adjust to modern society
Red Dead Redemption 3 should be about the formation of the gang and the years before the blackwater ferry job in 1899... so 1880/90´s or so and maybe end with the blackwater ferry job as it it would be fitting to end with the begining of the downfall of the vander linde gang
I'd love a Sadie / Charles title, but if they keep going backwards in time, I vote for young Hosea with a child/teen Arthur cameo. Hosea says enough about his past, Bessie, etc. to craft something interesting around
I’d want 1 of 2 things. A civil war era Red Dead, going even further back in time, or… a MODERN western, but only slightly modern. Like a late 80’s early 90’s TX setting. Vibes like Walker Texas Ranger or No Country for Old Men. Could still have the classic western feel but with the occasional pickup truck or automatic weapon.
In RDR3 I hope to see around 8 horse stalls, being able to own mules and donkeys, be able to buy land like RDR1, be able to breed horses of the same pedigree, some wild horse herds could maybe have foals, young stallions challenging herd leaders in the wild, baby animals with their parents, and maybe new characters.
I would love to see a whole new story, with a new character, but with a good deal of crossover. An earlier tale, with missions that involve meeting the characters of Red Dead’s 1 and 2. But, saying all that, a Sadie Adler focussed story would be a dream come true for me.
What rdr2 should be about is we begin as arthur father and then after he was hung we would begin as young arthur and then the beginning of the Dutch vanderland gang
I've always thought the best option for RDR3 was the last one you mentioned. Set in or around 1885, Dutch as the main character and Hosea and a young Arthur as playable characters. Maybe play as Dutch for most of the game and finish as Arthur, following the pattern of taking over as the main character of the previous game. You could see the rise of the Van Der Linde gang, adding gang members along the way. You could even have part of the story about how you find an orphaned John Marston and adopt him into the gang. You'd could include the background of the feud between Dutch and O'Driscoll, basically all the stuff you mentioned. IMO though, one the best reasons for this setting isn't just the story and characters, but the time period specifically. The first two RDRs were set after the height of the wild west, would be nice to have a game in this franchise that actually takes place during the apex of that era. I know Red Dead Revolver technically does but to me that title doesn't really fit into the Redemption fictional universe...unless you believe the 'Uncle is really Red Harlow' theory, and if that's really the case then R* could maybe try to tie that in somehow. I also prefer this because it could be an opportunity to have an online component of this game where the combat/gunfights are more centered around revolvers. One thing I find a bit disappointing about RDO currently is how overpowered and out of place some of the weapons are. The Carcano, Mauser and Semi-Auto pistols, Semi-Auto shotgun etc., these don't feel like true 'wild west' guns. They didn't exist in the 1880s and I think it would make for better combat if you only had revolvers, rifles (minus the carcano), repeaters and double barrel/sawed off shotguns as your only firearms.
I think it'd be interesting to see the third Red Dead Redemption set during the Civil War in America. Basically the 1850s or 1860s, there could be many opportunities to explore morality and also to explore the Civil War changing the Wild West forever.
Thanks Cat. Interesting theories. I’d be interested in the days of the Gold Rush. Started in California in 1852 at Sutter’s Creek Mill and ended in 1899 in Canada’s Yukon Territory & started in Colorado beginning of 1859. Lots of possibilities, which “could” include familiar faces and or family members. 😊
no bro, I don't think rockstar will stop this series because rockstar knows that this series is a golden bird I mean just think for a sec that when you hear rdr2 what's the first thing that comes to your mind, beautiful graphics, amazing story, detailed world, interesting charcters, wild west. but if you ask me what's the first thing comes to your mind after hearing rdr2 then I will say "Realism".
I hope it’s not about jack bc jack won’t be at the Wild West anymore. And it’s not about the Wild West it’s about the death of the Wild West era and in 1911 it was already pretty much done which is not something jack can live
I hope they keep the time period before cars. RDR does that time period as no other game does. I've played many other games since RDR2 came out, but it is the only one I come back to, and it has 3 times the hours I've put in any other game. Thanks again, Cat.
rdr3 should be about landon rickets during civil war then the next protagonist is uncle and his story after that it’ll be about young dutch or hosea and arthur i know it’ll be hard and huge game but since rdr2 is that good rdr3 should be beyond good i see that this is the best story
Dutch, Hosea and John as the three protagonists of peak Van der Linde gang would be great(sorry Arthur, but John always gets the one up from me). Epilogue could be what Dutch did leading up to his RDR2 native American gang.
Mac Callander isn't a rdr material. His character is pretty up set up. Lenny and Charles hated him. He was a nasty dude. Something in between Arthur and Micah. Why ppl would want a story about him is so beyond me
@@maryi685Eh, that's based on a few lines from Lenny & Charles. Javier, Sean, & Arthur seemed to like him just fine. It could be the basis for a good story, or it could be shit. Just depends how he's written. Don't write the whole character off just because of a few lines. Nobody seemed to think much of John at the beginning of RDR2, either.
I like the idea that every Red Dead Redemption game is before the previous one. Its like a reverse trilogy. I like Jack but I don't think he'll be the next protagonist because the wild west is pretty much ending by his time and I don't want to play a Red Dead game with cars or in World Word 1 or something.
I’m gonna paste this from my comment on your community post on this topic. This is what I think it should be. TLDR: Game set at the end of the Civil War, including an ex confederate soldier first protagonist, and a freed slave second protagonist. Game is focused around redemption of character and morality questions. I’ve said this for years the Van Der Linde Gang story should be over. There’s no way games before or after make sense. I think a game set in the last months to the end of the Civil War would be amazing. New cast of characters, possibly a soldier who has to redeem himself. The time period is a perfect balance between civilized cities and completely untamed frontiers. As a history nerd, the political landscape at the time would be so interesting to me. I think the best way to go with it would be to play as an ex confederate soldier, someone who deserted. You’re marked for death by the confederacy, the Union, and confederate loyalists after the war ends. This could set up areas of the map which are more or less hostile. A fictional Washington DC and Richmond would be amazing. The dichotomy between the two cities would be so cool to see. Maybe the protagonist was forced to take part in a massacre and tries to redeem himself by doing good acts through criminal means. Having to always question his morality and ethicality. You would meet various characters that you run with or do missions for, sort of like RDR1, but this time you’re hunted. I eventually think this character would have to die, like prior games. The question for who the second protagonist should be is up for debate, but I think a freed slave would be the best choice. Maybe freed by our character, freed by himself, or as a result of the war. This ex slave would have to be integral to the story, so having him run with our ex solider would be essential. They would most likely meet in a hostile interaction but realize they need each other. Being on almost complete separate isles of this conflict, but both are wanted men. Mutual respect would go a long way between the two. I think R* would have to be very careful with this to not be historically inaccurate. They also would need to be extremely careful to not portray the Union as an antagonist. I wouldn’t want this to be a pro confederate, anti union game. Along with that, I don’t think portraying the Union as a bastion of good and the confederacy the epitome of evil would be good either. For this reason, I am not sure how likely R* would be willing to make this game, but they can pull it off.
Good idea for a western movie or game, but it simply isn't a RDR game. You're making a new ip at that point, there'd be no reason to put it under the RDR title, as it has absolutely nothing to do with RDR other than it's set in roughly the same time frame and the guy "redeems" himself. Also, too similar to "The Outlaw Josey Wales" imo
@@CameronE.128 also R* has HEAVILY used other media such as movies for inspiration for their games. Examples: (scarface and Miami Vice for GTA VC) (Heat for GTA V) (Bonnie and Clyde stories for GTA VI) (Boyz n the Hood and menace II society for GTA SA) (RDR has called inspiration from a plethora of western movies). Now of course they don’t reuse these stories for their games but the outlaw Josey Wales is not the only media product that can feature an ex confederate protagonist. They can write a fantastic story that may, and probably would take inspiration but it would not be a one to one copy.
@@codywieczorek A Red Dead Redemption game in my eyes follows the Van Der Linde gang and their fall, along with following the last days of the old west. While I guess technically you could have a game that doesnt follow the Van Der Linde gang, it would be completely out of character for the franchise. Anything else requires a new ip, as there wouldnt really be any reason to keep it RDR, imo. You're right about the "The Outlaw Josey Wales" part, I guess when I was reading it the first time I read "ex-confederate" and thought it was basically the same, but as I read it again it's a completely different story.
Are we talking about the same franchise? 61 MILLION copies of RDR2 were sold, and the game made plenty of money. Hell, even more people might download the 3rd game, especially if it’s an upgrade(it will be)
Honestly I can see a jack marston game with him joining the mafia would be fascinating because it’s shows how different the Wild West is compared to the world of organized crime and seeing jack interact with that world would be fascinating, it be one of the first types popular of media to see the changing of the guard of cowboys to the mafia, a Dutch game where we see the origins of the gang, his rivalry with colm and seeing how he loved a woman named Annabell that was most likely killed by colm or his brother and just see the origins of Dutch would be great, but I think getting a game that like shows us the history of Landon Ricketts would be amazing cause we can see the world of the wild west in the eyes of a famous gunslinger not an outlaw, Landon ricketts is seen as a legend, a hero, that is something we really haven’t seen in red dead before cause we usually play as outlaws but I don’t know if that will work cause of the honor system so in my opinion I think the jack marston mafia game would be fantastic it would literally be the bridge of red dead to GTA that would be amazing
It should be an entirely new story and new character. I wouldn't mind seeing like a homage to Outlaw Josey Wales. Just a straight up western revenge story. A man with a troubled past maybe some civil war PTSD and his family gets killed by confederates or something. A Clint Eastwood "man with no name" style game would be dope too. Play as a drifter and decide who you wanna help & dont wanna help.
I would honestly play a prequel game about Uncle. I would say he's already redeemed by rdr2. He doesn't have much but he's not a bad seed and that's all that matters. It would be great and hilarious if his story was actually Red Harlow's story but much more grounded and darker. Then at the end he gives his journal to a writer who takes it and makes a highly exaggerated novel out of it (which the first games story is based on). When he becomes an old man at the end of the game, you could then play as the story book version of Red from the first game and explore a transformed landscape that mirrors RDRevolver, and still have the option to go back and forth between him and old uncle who just explores and does leftover challenges/side missions in the original landscape. I know they won't make this game but I would dig it.
I think it would be a better idea to explore the POV of a completely new story arch during the wild west era (could be around the same time as the events of rdr1 and 2 or before) and call it something different like for example, "Red Dead Ascension/Dissention" where the main character starts off as a lawman that resorts to becoming an outlaw and starts a gang with choices made that will either make you feared or respected by the people.
We should play as annabelle and when she gets killed by colm we switch to dutch or Arthur ( I prefer dutch) And they should make annabelle a gunslinger lady And keep the tradition of making us fall in love with the main character and then killing him.
I would rather RDR3 go further back in time. You would play each gang member's story up until their joining the Van Der Linde gang, then move on to the next character's story. Once you play all character's individual stories, you then would choose one character to play for the remainder of the game ending with the Blackwater Heist. You could also replay the final leg up to the heist over and over with all the different characters, each having their different experience. My two cents.
Here's my idea. A crossover spin off. Grand Theft Auto: Redemption. Jack Marston as the protagonist. Set in the 1930s, making Jack in his 30s-40s. Reuse the RDR2 map, mostly the same but all towns are built up, with many more building. Have contemporary automobiles, featuring some brands from the GTA series like Vapid, which is evidently a parallel to Ford, as well as horses. Jack would be a general ne'er do well, involved in things like bootlegging, drug running, gambling, loan sharking, etc. I would imagine that Trelawny could be a prominent character, probably running a gambling and bootlegging operation in his 60s, possibly even based out of the old Braithwaite manor. Maybe have him meet an aged Sadie Adler, now an old woman, who would help him to remember how pure and good he was as a young boy, and show him that his criminal life is the opposite life of what people like John and Arthur fought and died to try and give him.
I would honestly play a prequel game about Uncle. I would say he's already redeemed by rdr2. He doesn't have much but he's not a bad seed and that's all that matters. It would be great and hilarious if his story was actually Red Harlow's story but much more grounded and darker. It could involve all the old gunslingers you kill as Arthur as well. Then at the end he gives his journal to a writer who takes it and makes a highly exaggerated novel out of it (which the first games story is based on). When he becomes an old man at the end of the game, you could then be able to get drunk/pass out anytime and play as the story book version of Red from the first game and explore a transformed landscape that mirrors RDRevolver, and when you die/wake up youll go back to being old uncle who just explores and does leftover challenges and side missions in the original landscape. I know they won't make this game but I would dig it.
I would be interested in a story where we play as Dutch, and we follow his arc where he becomes the person we now know. Maybe even ending where RDR2 begins.
The only logical possibility is for it to be a prequel about the early days of Dutch, Hosea, Arthur, Eliza, Isaac, Annabelle, Colm and his brother, and two dozen other gang members we've never heard about before, under the leadership of a mentor we never heard about before. We'll play through the gang breaking apart because of the whole thing between Dutch, Annabelle, Colm and his brother, and then the start of the Van Der Linde Gang. Presumably we'd play as the heretofore unknown mentor in the main game and then Arthur in the epilogue. And since RDR is always about 20 years out of date, the setting would be around 1870/80 but involve a gold rush and the completion of a transcontinental railway in the areas north of New Austin and west of the Grizzlies.
I had always said, let it be Jack on the run from the law after killing Ross. He joins the military, show him in WWI a bit. Let him come back with some PTSD and showing how hes struggling with being a killer. Then show him reuniting with old gang members getting new ones alike, bootlegging in the Midwest. They can even put the dustbowl in it. I love RDR2, but we don't need another prequel.
Unfortunately I don't think we'll see Rdr3 given Strauss Zelnick's attitude towards this franchise, but if it came out I would want it to be about the Golden Days of the gang. Let this be a trilogy that ends on a bright note
Hall nah I don’t want rdr3 to have Sadie in it, especially as protagonist! It felt like a hard insert for no reason, only to have a woman gunslinger around, when she is not mentioned once in rdr1. R* is already pretty crossed with me for being greedy and starting to become woke *****, if they start milking this new trend of gaming I’m not bothering giving them any money. There are other great developers that don’t bend the knee to the *** culture we bare today and rather deliver fun content, with no nonsense inserts and such-a-likes.
acknowledging that women exist outside of being love interests is not woke 😂 it's just real life. I'm not saying I want them to make a Sadie game, but maybe a completely new story where you play as a woman.
I wouldn’t mind a continuation following Jack, however a prequel with the gang in it’s prime, with the ability to switch between playable members of the gang is 100% the better of the two options. Jack’s story is something I would like to see but I don’t think it belongs as part of the cowboy series considering the shift in time. A pre-sequel involving the gang would allow us to see what made Dutch so influential(they never bothered to show us why everyone respected Dutch initially and flocked to his gang in the first place. I would like to see a likeable Dutch and Hosea and why the gang members were drawn to them in the first place.
Said this on other channels also. Maybe playing as Arthurs father can be an option also. Could be set 30/35 years before RDR2. I do like that Van Der Linde option or even as playing as Jack.
I liked the direction they went with GTA4 as it pertains to DLC. The Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost in Damned. It would be interesting if they developed DLCs similar to that for Red Dead. For once DLC we could get to play as Colm leading up to his demise, or even get to see the Pinkerton’s side of the story up until Milton’s death. I think that would be an interesting take as no one is a hero in this story.
The most interesting scenario for me would be Landon Ricketts becoming a legend, passing his wisdom to Jack Marston, whoin the epilogue became a war hero in WW1 and a president of the US of A :)
We don't really need an RDR3 since the story of John, Arthur, and Jack are pretty much completed in the 2 games. If RDR3 were to happen it would need to follow a new set of characters instead of just constantly going back in time and having another prequal like some people want
I got another idea. a multiple main caracter playthrough. just like GTA V you have more then 1 main, with totally diffrent stats. 1 might handle the gun better and the other might ride better. it would make for more missions. I would lastly also like a map that isn't like the surroundings of saint denis, where you immediatly go from swamp to city. it should have some low residential to the side.
I'd like to see the continuation of the love story between Mr. Black and Mr. White. They are petty thieves shoplifting from the general store in Strawberry. Tree house life.
I want to see a map based on California and oregon around 1880-1890. The pacific would make an easy boundary to the west and the Rockies would make the eastern boundary. It would be cool to see how rockstar recreates this diverse landscape with cone volcanos, rocky coastline, deserts, dense temperate forests and references the history/folklore
An uncle game would be perfect imo, 20 years before the events of rdr 2 and you could even see characters like arthur, dutch and hosea but uncle doesnt join the gang in the game yet
the thing is that jack's story would be in competition with GTA 6, we know that sadie died in rdr1, charles would be the only one who we could potentially see in a future red dead, but as far as we know, we're not even sure that the Red Dead *Redemption* series will continue, we know that we went from red dead revolver to red dead redemption, maybe another red dead title will apear. But in the end i will be happy with with all of these choices, i just want my favorite franchise to continue, rdr2 is still my favorite game of all time and i just want to see this beautiful game to continue.
I would love for them to do something similiar to Arthur. Making a whole new character and at a possibel epilougue we play as Arthur i think this could not only give us a new perspective on the gang(or maybe even someone who is not part of the gang but still knows about it like Trewlany) could give a lot of creative freedom to rockstar and make us care grow to love another character.
I still am thinking that a game centered on Landon Ricketts is the best way to go. Maybe have the epilogue centered on him tracking down Jack after hearing about what happened to John and training him to get his revenge on Ross
Landon Ricketts is my favorite Character of all Red Dead. I even recreated him as my char in RDO. I hope we see him again in some sort. Main char, NPC or just a minor cameo
I think there is an Easter in GTA V where you see a book written by Jack Marston. Maybe in the epilogue, we can see what Jack does after killing Ross and possibly fighting in WW1. Rockstar can use the horrors of fighting in the trenches as making change his way. But the main story, I would like to see the gang in their hey day, right up to the events of Blackwater. Keeping with the tradition of the main character dying, you can use one of the Callander Brothers. It would be nice to see if Dutch was always a mad man, or if the events that took place at Blackwater changed him into the character that we see in RDR2.
That would be interesting for the calendar boys because I was thinking of that or they should do a story on Charles or Sadie who knows it’s quite a shame that RDR 2 won’t make DLC stories
A Red dead set in the prime of the Wild West 1870s or 1880s would be nice and where the protagonists don’t die in the end. I personally believe the Vander linde gang story is told although I would like to see what happen in the blackwater heist, and what was Dutch doing in the years after Arthur’s death 1899-1907-1911 what made him go from crazy to absolute psycho killer.
I hope they expand upon the existing map like from RD1 to RD2. It'd be cool to see how the landscape changes with civilization expanding during that era.
Maybe do something unrelated. Play a character who fought in the Civil War who turns into a Lawman or Bounty Hunter and you hunt down the gangs. Maybe meet Dutch along the way.
I've turned around on the whole "RDR 3 should be about Jack Marston" thing. I used to hate the idea because it wouldn't be a "wild west cowboy game" but if you've watched Lawless you'll understand how wild it could be playing as Jack.
Arthur was not mentioned in RDR 1. The opening of RDR1 was about the fallout from the ending events of RDR 2. RDR3, if they go the prequel route, should do the same. A new character that WE DO NOT KNOW, but who is involved with the gang. And it should end at Blackwater (maybe in the epilogue), thus filling out the intro to RDR2. maybe a mentor to Arthur? If they go with a Jack sequel, set it in WW1 era Mexico, which was more chaotic than pre-WW1 America. Very wild West feeling
Ok hear me out we know that some guy die during the blackwater massacre. What if we play as one of them and during the massacre he fight for helping the other escape and when he die we play as arthur
I would either like the first option, but i could see it being a lot like mafia. However, i like the charles option, or we go even farther in time during the blackwater massacre or the new character
I think we need to know what happened to Sadie Adlers dad. Why is Sadie so tough? Your honor if it's good can have an ending where you end up being a good dad and raising Sadie right. Or you can have low honor, but still very much love your daughter and have a strong relationship with her. Your last moments as a low honor ending could be going out fighting for her and she had to witness you die. Both would explain why she was so tough and it would be set in a time frame closer to the civil war. You could even have a run in with Wyatt Earp. you could either help him or at the end Wyatt Earp guns you down. the options are wide open and the only option I see to stay withing the Dutch Vanderlin gang lore while having a completely separate cast of characters without the ending being predictable. The epilogue could be a young Arthur when he was around 25. It could carry on the tradition of bringing back a loved character like they did with John. In RDR2 we have Arthur when he was in his 30's. So time frame wise it would make sense to have him at about 25 if were ending off with Sadie being close to 16 at the end of RDR3.

@@stiprus_garsas it'll just belike the mafia games then.

I’m hoping Dan houser makes more games. I know he started another company but there doesn’t seem to be much going on.
As an OG RDR fan I’d love to just get a clean slate with new characters and a new map with no mention of current charecter
I agree
Yes!
you are a boring human being ...
That's a lot of dlc my friend 😂
Dutch is a moron. Id like to see lando rickets instead.
The story of Red dead is deeper then just a wild west game. So NO you won't getting a prequel to Red dead 2. Don't forget RD series is probably gonna be a trilogy.
Red Harlow deserves another shot he’s easily the best out of all those.
Fr and people talking about wanting to see the blackwater ferry heist but I feel like it’s better to be up for interpretation
Like to see the focus on the O’Driscolls with a new character or playing as Sadie, since she was with them
right and expand to involve Mexico and areas across the Lannehacee. New characters for sure, just not any Hollywood: morerer "DIVERSE-Sadie" is boss KWEEEEN, all guys are fem or neutered....unless they include Dutch and Arthur dancing to "Poker Plans" as part of the main story, of course then i am IN!
Ppl just wanna see more Arthur and imo that’s lame I agree we need new characters and a new map
@@BoniMayneand how much can that event really give, it would be the Saint Denis heist but just in black water
And at the end of the game we can see the blackwater massacre be a good way to end it.
@@Frye-uf1nf in the epilogue, damn y'all cooked
wtf good ass idea
Yeah maybe Arthur's Dad quit drinking before he was hung by his neck. 😶🌫️
And Arthur being really young doesn’t understand Lyle’s redemption, so he just remembers the bad stuff we hear about in RDR2. Perhaps Lyle did stuff to protect Arthur without him knowing. Fatherhood has been one of the themes in revolver and both redemption games.

Red Dead 3 can't be about Dutch's rise. Because both of the games end with a tragic ending, and ending it with the Blackwater massacre would be out of touch.
Yeah, but Blackwater Massacre can also be seen as a tragic ending for Dutch
I feel like a massacre is pretty tragic
@@PVPCatAgreed. By tragic i meant their death. It worked great for gta
@@Boneheaded0 I disagree the three gta 5 protagonists are the weakest in the series. Specially following gta 4 and RDR1.
@@Boneheaded0 they are weak characters, story focused (one only ) main characters work because its only focusing on one person. What they should do is bring back the system, dlc's like Ballad of Gay Tony and Lost and the Damned.
I would love a hyper-realistic retelling of the Red Harlow story.
@@Foxfire_forty-nine that's why I said new character, similar to Arthur, still having close ties to the original cast
@@Foxfire_forty-nineyou obviously didn't play low honor 😂
Imagine a rdr type game with missions but in the civil war, wandering around the camp and taking tasks
A new gang to the story line in peak Wild West 1870s would be ideal in my opinion maybe even on the run laying low in Mexico initially
yeah but weren't theystill using handloads instead of cartridge based ammo back then? Imagine even older and crustier weapons than in the previous games. Sounds super lame.

Dutch as the character of the prologue - beginning
Mac & Davey Callender as the characters of the chapters and epilogue- middle & end
Red Dead Revolution (gang formation) 1869-1899
Red Dead Redemption 2 (gang downfall) 1899-1907
Red Dead Redemption (gang extermination) 1911-1914
Therefore the entire Van der Linde gang story is shown visually and all the dialogue has been visualised. Come on Rockstar. Make my dream a reality since 2014 when I played Red Dead 1 and 2020 when I played Red Dead 2.
I agree, the formation of Hosea and Dutch’s relationship, them picking up a young Arthur and forming the gang would be sweet!

Could still have the classic western feel but with the occasional pickup truck or automatic weapon.
Playin' as Dutch and Colm as they are friends and become enemies etc. That would be nice story and playable option like GTA5.
Hosea Matthews. He is perfect for a Unforgiven type story.

I think it should be about a member of the odriscoll gang
Sounds like the best option to me 👍

Dutch, Hosea and John as the three protagonists of peak Van der Linde gang would be great(sorry Arthur, but John always gets the one up from me). Epilogue could be what Dutch did leading up to his RDR2 native American gang.
Mac Callander, Blackwater, and epilogue with Arthur is what I always imagined for RDR3.
Mac Callander isn't a rdr material. His character is pretty up set up. Lenny and Charles hated him. He was a nasty dude. Something in between Arthur and Micah. Why ppl would want a story about him is so beyond me

Like 'Bass Reeves' a perfect character slave to US marshal. He meets all you ask for
Good idea for a western movie or game, but it simply isn't a RDR game. You're making a new ip at that point, there'd be no reason to put it under the RDR title, as it has absolutely nothing to do with RDR other than it's set in roughly the same time frame and the guy "redeems" himself. Also, too similar to "The Outlaw Josey Wales" imo
@@CameronE.128 what constitutes an rdr game then? Van Der Linde gang? I guess it doesn’t have to be RDR3 could be Red Dead Reconstruction
RD3 will be about when Dutch and Hosea starting the gang picking up a young Arthur...

I’d like to play as a Pinkerton whose job is to infiltrate the gang
It should be an entirely new story and new character. I wouldn't mind seeing like a homage to Outlaw Josey Wales. Just a straight up western revenge story. A man with a troubled past maybe some civil war PTSD and his family gets killed by confederates or something. A Clint Eastwood "man with no name" style game would be dope too. Play as a drifter and decide who you wanna help & dont wanna help.
It'll be about The Infamous ONE SHOT KID
We should play as annabelle and when she gets killed by colm we switch to dutch or Arthur ( I prefer dutch)
And they should make annabelle a gunslinger lady
And keep the tradition of making us fall in love with the main character and then killing him.
We're not getting another Red Dead title.
This is based on nothing. It makes logical sense to expect a follow up to a top 10 selling game of all time.
Anyone but Saddie
So you don't like strong independent women. Got it.
True, like Saddie, no thanks.
@@High-Tech-Geekmost times it’s just too forced lol, i think jack should be the main character and it should take place right after rdr1
@@High-Tech-Geekno we don't...

Watch Rockstar ruin everything they touch. 6 is going to be complete garbage.
I would be interested in a story where we play as Dutch, and we follow his arc where he becomes the person we now know. Maybe even ending where RDR2 begins.
I hope its set in the early 20s right when cars start to be industrialized.
That was 1911 in RDR1 it’s called the Model T
@@DeadnotAlive did not know that
The only logical possibility is for it to be a prequel about the early days of Dutch, Hosea, Arthur, Eliza, Isaac, Annabelle, Colm and his brother, and two dozen other gang members we've never heard about before, under the leadership of a mentor we never heard about before.
Yeah and they can call it Peaky Blinders Redemption
That idea is ass
@@rodrigodelacruz2230 This comment is ass. I guess you want ANOTHER prequel right?
@@granitemonkey No, i want a Javier Escuella story
@@rodrigodelacruz2230 Fair enough, I can't argue with that.
@@rahtsnake144 like what type? A bad feminist written character like sadie, or just some random girl as a main character
@@rahtsnake144 you’re gone, no point trying to talk sense into you. Enjoy your diaper and cbt videos.
I want it to be a about the calendar brothers and the events before red dead 2 it makes the most sense to me
I liked the direction they went with GTA4 as it pertains to DLC.
The most interesting scenario for me would be Landon Ricketts becoming a legend, passing his wisdom to Jack Marston, whoin the epilogue became a war hero in WW1 and a president of the US of A :)
personally i would like to see a continuation of sadie and charles or just one of em
We don't really need an RDR3 since the story of John, Arthur, and Jack are pretty much completed in the 2 games. If RDR3 were to happen it would need to follow a new set of characters instead of just constantly going back in time and having another prequal like some people want
Jack in the army during ww1 perhaps? And then maybe dive into prohibition? Who knows
I think another prequel would be cool, The adventures of young Langdon Rickets or Mashal Lee Johnson from RDR1
New story
New gang
New characters
It would be really cool to play Jack Marston and Arthur Morgan time travel from when he was younger
I’d like to see a prequel to red dead 2 where Dutch, Hosea and Arthur are meeting members of the gang
