I like Snook's idea. I think a prequel bringing us to the Blackwater massacre would be a fun game and another great story since it's earlier in the wild west era instead of the end. Besides, that would make Arthur the protagonist at the end if Rock Star keeps with their same way of making the game. 🙂
But Red Dead Redemption IS about the death of the wild west in America. If you want a Red Dead style game that takes place at the middle of the wild west, pray for a Red Dead Revolver 2
@@_Zero4_ You can have a redemption story arc in the middle of the Wild West. Even so, you could just give it a separate subtitle (Red Dead “ “). They’ve done two games about the death of the west and if you’re going to make a AAA cowboy sim at least set one of them during the actual period and not it’s last 15 seconds.
@@_Zero4_Ik but it would be interesting to see how the old west was like. Civilized era has been in 2 games so far like the other guy said, and plus I would love to see towns like limpany in their golden era.
Having a game during the end of the civil war and beginning of reconstruction would be amazing. Imagine hearing in game about Lincoln’s assassination, the politics of the time, and a more free Wild West.
Fr, i think they should use the jack hall gang as the main characters, i think you know them, you could find there treasure in rdr2, so anyway the went from california (I'm guessing south California) all the way to new Hanover, and they robbed banks in texas to, so basically that means that most of the map will be in the west
And I want the game to take place at 1877 or 1876 and the epilogue to take place at 1885, because the guy who gives arthur the treasure map told him that all of the jack hall brothers died, but in the story I want the main character to survive, and I want the game to teach us that sometimes surviving is worse then dying, when everyone around you are already dead
Yes, or it should start right after Jack killed Ross and go through the first and second world wars. Jack goes to fight, comes home, has a family of his own and fights through the changing world in the 20's.
I honestly think that the Mac Callender theory fits the well loved Red Dead Redemption theory the best. Starting with the formation of the gang and ending with the selfless sacrifice of himself to save the next protagonist. This case being Auther Morgan. It just fits so perfectly. Another option I've been thinking about would be a game where you play as the traitor Author metions to Tilly, although it shouldn't be obvious at first. You would play through the earlier days of the gang and the main plot would be that you end up finding out that Dutch never really cared for the gang but was just using them. HIs redemption would be trying to expose Dutch to the gang, but end up being framed and killed by him along with Micah perhaps. Then the epilouge would be you playing as Arthur Morgan in the weeks leading up to Blackwater.
I dont remember arthur in rdr2 mentioning that he was specifically abusive, but just a very bad man, maybe there would be reasons for this behavior, for example john in the epilouge is just trying to make a life for himself the only way he knows how: crime. But this results in jack and abigail leaving, maybe arthurs dad was on the wrong side of the law trying to protect/provide for his son, but since arthurs mother died very young, arthurs dad would be leaving him alone frequently to go off and commit crimes (this would not be percieved well by arthur), this would result in arthurs behavior towards eliza and isaac later on when he visits them relatively frequently. TLDR maybe arthurs dad wasnt abusive but rather very abscent and still a criminal. @@pepsgaming2691
His dad was an awful man and he wouldn't give us the connection with an outlaw like we did with john and arthur. The timeline idea might be cool but that man was vile and i would never want to play such a terrible story as that. He also has no connection to anyone of the gang so that would pull the game apart even more and it might as well not be read dead redemption but just some random ass western story about a shitty dude.
Also, during a random camp encounter, Bill says that Mac “Was heartless, but he had a heart.” That sounds like a very protagonist-like description imo, similar to John saying in the epilogue that Arthur was both good and bad
Mac was just a muscle. That means 0 side quests, and what would be the epilogue? Rdr2? And how would the game end? He just died in a massacre not very redeeming.
@@JackycakesV2 I’m just feeding into the available theories atm. My personal guess for an RDR3 includes having the “traitor” Arthur told Tilly about as the protagonist. Just because Arthur called them a traitor doesn’t mean they were as evil as someone like Micah. Remember, technically Arthur and John were traitors at the end of RDR2, at least in Dutch’s eyes. It could be a similar situation with this “traitor” Arthur mentions. The game would have our protagonist grow to realize how flawed Dutch is and have him begin to doubt, eventually leading to him being killed and the epilogue would have us play as a 25 year old Arthur or something I just feel like Rockstar didn’t just throw that line of Arthur mentioning a traitor in the game for no reason. Arthur could’ve simply told Tilly, “Dutch likes to avoid murder in the camp” without mentioning a past character randomly. It wasn’t for comedic effect either, it seems as if they were planting the seed for a possible RDR3
@@I_shidded_and_farded the traitor was most likely an odriscoll informant. And there’s not much “redemption” there. And he would’ve been mentioned more if he was there when Arthur was younger.
@@JackycakesV2 I don’t think you understand what I said. At the end of RDR2, Arthur and John were both considered traitors by Dutch and the rest of his supporters. Even in RDR1, Bill calls John a traitor, yet both Arthur and John both obviously earned their redemption. They could do something similar with this unnamed “traitor” in the gang’s past, where they see the light and realize early on that Dutch isn’t the all-righteous leader he claims to be, and would try to convince Arthur and the rest to stray from Dutch’s path. They would obviously have to craft a story around this and give it a plot, but if they did it with RDR2 they could do it again. Given that the traitor has no name, no gender, no voice, and just no information about them, Rockstar could literally craft a character around it. And as for the gang not mentioning this traitor, you could use the same logic as to why Arthur wasn’t mentioned in RDR1. An in-universe explanation could be that it was early on in the gang’s history, with most of the current members not being present yet, such as Tilly who didn’t know, so there is no point in bringing it up anymore. It was just an event in the gang’s past that they want to forget about
@@I_shidded_and_farded yeah but Dutch thought John was a Pinkerton informant. Cuz in his eyes, hosea was killed but Abigail and John survived. And John was already beefing with Dutch. And Dutch in his mind thought there was a rat in Saint Denis, only for John to deny that claim instead blaming Dutch, and after John was with Arthur in baggies bridge Arthur seemed very defensive of John and Dutch knew the bond between the two. And of course Micah was doing his thing. And after molly died arthur was defending her despite her being seen as a rat. Arthur comes back from saving Abigail who Dutch was starting to dislike and claiming molly wasn’t a rat but Micah who was very local to Dutch at that time. The traitor must’ve been in a very unfortunate circumstance to be seen as a traitor by Arthur, Dutch, AND hosea. And probably a few others as well depending on when he was in the gang
I think Mac Calendar would actually work. In the first game, John sacrifices himself to save his family. And in the second game, Arthur sacrifices himself to save John. I think continuing the cycle would work perfectly Edit: Thanks for all the comments and likes you guys. I've never had this many before. God bless you all.
@@V6twinturbozperhaps that’s all the gang saw from Mac. There could be more to the man. Bill claimed he had a heart so there had to be some redeeming quality to him. As for Davey, I imagine he’s a mean version of Sean.
With a lot of these ideas, I don’t think continuing John, Arthur’s, or Jacks story makes sense. It’s perfect how it is, and a sequel or another prequel makes no sense. It would be nice to just have a new story.
i think a prequel that follows mac would be the best. because it would show how the gang got to the point they were at in black water and it could show mac’s “redemption” when he sacrifices himself to save arthur like how arthur does with john
@Trivixityy That’s not a bad idea but man I feel like it misses the mark. Landon was already out of his prime by 1899. I also feel most of the fanbase misses out on the fact that Blackwater is left to be ambiguous. Were never supposed to truly know what happened. It’s why we only hear it vaguely, it’s the catalyst for the gangs downfall and as such meant to be a little bit of a mystery.
@Trivixityy I really like the idea of playing as Ricketts though. He’s highly skilled and even out of his prime he’s probably the one who took out one of the Callender boys (forget which one)
I like the Callender idea. I’d include some sort of sympathy for the devil stuff for Dutch so we wind up having a full story of his degeneration from idealist to big bad. You could include SO much in this time frame: Indian wars, Reconstruction, and unresolved elements like the Blackwater massacre, Ricketts, and Red Dead Revolver.
I love the callendar theory we see the vdlg in their prime, young Arthur, Hosea the whole lot. There is so much potential here because of the unknown of who they could’ve been with and away from the vdlg. Arthur had a family once maybe one of the brothers do too. Themes and narratives repeat themselves in this universe and a finished story of the vdg would tie it up nicely. Mac saves Arthur and he saves John, arthur and Jack meet Ross by a river, Jack kills Ross by a river. (Maybe high honor Mac could survive and Milton just taunts Arthur)Callendars could resemble the brothers from hell or high water- one can be dealt with the other cannot
If they do decide to go with the vander linde gang again then Callendar is the only way i want it done. But i honestly really hope they dont lol. I think this series as a whole should be layed to rest and its not even impossible when you see how much money they make from GTA in comparison so im not really sure how happy investors would be to see they are making another cowboy came that, while was financially successful, is not going to be making them millions still down the line unlike another GTA installment where their resources could be used instead
@@JackycakesV2 Oh, I dont know. maybe have him be an absolute dick to arthur when he was younger and then have his last thing be saving him, or how about the million other ways you can make sacrificing yourself for someone else to escape into a redemption, if thats not then how is RDR2 arthurs redemption? Think before you speak bro cmon.
I am completely on board with SeanEazy's story with a Red Dead title that takes place after the civil war. The redemption circle has already been completed, with Arthur and John's redemption having been completed, and the wild west ending with Jack Marston. Having a story that takes place after the civil war would leave many opportunities, with possibilities for indigenous characters, outlaws, soldiers, being endless. It would also help bring history to Red Dead Redemption that would help build the world and it's story. Reconstruction allows more titles to come out from the time period between 1865 to 1898.
I’d been thinking that Mac’s story is probably the best idea so it’s cool to see this theory. It would be able to follow the same themes and arcs as John and Arthur’s stories. Maybe some people would think that’s boring but I kinda like the idea of history repeating itself in this series. Plus it gives us another opportunity to play someone we haven’t met before. And now knowing that Arthur’s jacket was Mac’s I mean c’mon lol and I’d love if it ended with the Blackwater massacre so we could see what all went down
I totally agree. Mac would be a good direction. Knowing that he dies during the events of the blackwater hiest, we would know what happened during the hiest, the coat would be like the passing the protagonist torch and take control as Arthur escaping to catch up with the rest taking Davey with him.
The one problem I have with a game following Mac leading up to the Blackwater heist is the question of the epilogue. Who would we play as after Mac dies in Blackwater? The logical choice is Arthur but then that's just RDR2 and I doubt R* is going to put all of RDR2 as the epilogue to RDR3. The only other way I could see it working is if you never actually do the Blackwater job, and upon getting 100% completion you see a cutscene of the gang heading to the ferry and then credits, but that's a massive tease. Personally I think the most likely is a game following Dutch and Hosea as they form the Van Der Linde gang, ending before or with the fire Arthur mentions drove them to Blackwater to begin with.
"Let's make a Red Dead game, but instead of an actual Red Dead game, we'll strip it of the contents that make it unique. Redemption? Death of the West? In the trash. Let's also follow a repetitive and generic "prequel" scheme and turn the Red Dead series into a milked money-grab. Yeah, that's mint."
@@TheSonicdude98 I was thinking the prequel would have us Arthur catching up to the gang after Mac dies at Blackwater. Then it could end on a shot of the gang riding up into the snowy mountains where rdr2 begins. It’s vague but it’s an idea at least
I hope we have a game before the black water incident, ending with it to complete the story. I would LOVE Dutchs view, building the gang and stuff like that with young arthur and john and hosea joining and everything
That would be cool to see, but it wouldn’t make any sense. We wouldn’t learn anything new story-wise so it would really just be a bunch of filler content.
That would be so dumb, the game needs to be set in 1915 have cars but very few have ranches in Barns. The game should have the fake Cuba Island in Mexico maybe another section of the map extended also, maybe carry on with Jack's story if they're going to keep the story.
@@jamesmcguire6706Thats even dumber. RDR is supposed to center around the fall of the wild west, a game continuing Jack’s story wouldn’t be a RDR game but more like a 1920’s crime drama. And chronologically RDR2 goes backwards in time from 1, so to have ‘RDR3’ go into the future wouldn’t make sense.
The callender theory is my favorite and what I feel to be most like but I have a theory myself, so post rdr2 you see the lot of the gang that surrounded John in the epilogue leave Sadie becoming a bounty hunter and Charles leaving to Canada, I think this would be a great placement for story as either Sadie or Charles given that this point in time was only a few years from johns death this gives opportunity to maybe see a happy ending for once Charles makes it to Canada just fine but in that trouble maybe he runs in to old rivals in one way or another or maybe even showing Sadie Adler hunting down the remainder of the odriscols and attempting to hunt the pickertons that wronged them and towards the end of either story or both they see that a boy out west is writing and publishing story’s of the gang they once were in themselves under the writers name of Arthur Morgan or “Insert important gang members name here” and Sadie goes to check it out wanting to hunt down the old gang or see an old friend and Charles comes down from either curiosity or revenge and once both them make it out west they find a older jack writing books and tales of the gangs adventure and they all rejoice in seeing each other again but jack confesses that he’s being hunted by the law for killing his fathers killer and you know rockstar takes it from there to flush it out cause I’m not a story writer
I would love to see maybe you start the game as Dutch and then find young Arthur and "recruit" him, love to see Uncle, Dutch, Hosea and Arthur on their first robberies. Also, I think the biggest mystery in the entire series of Red Dead is the Blackwater ferry job. So... I would love to see it actually happening (maybe as a prologue mission), or it would be a real nice plot twist if the game would and with them going off to the mission but it ends before they would start the robbery.
Hosea might be better. A lot of people probably hate Dutch now and would not connect with him properly. Hosea could be a better choice I think, although he would be a bit too old maybe
I would like RDR3 to continue backwards in time following Dutch and how he builds the gang. We could get backstories for all of the characters we've come to know and love along with all of the great action RDR is known for.
It would be interesting to see a younger optimistic Dutch. There is a question of if Dutch was always bad and was found out in RDR2, or if he was a good man who turned bad in RDR2. That could be down to player choice or a theme to be explored.
@@sheert To me it always seemed like Dutch started out with good intentions, but let his thirst for power/danger take over as the gang grew and he had people there to validate his dark side.
Here’s my concept: you play as Lyle Morgan, the father of Arthur. It begins during the Reconstruction Era and is about Lyle and his various conflicts as an outlaw with the game ending with him being hung. While that is happening, the camera pans to a young Arthur in the crowd. Similar to Red Dead 2, there’s a 2-part epilogue. The first part you play as Arthur when he first meets Dutch, and it shows him joining the gang and doing his first few missions with the gang. And the second part, shows what happened in Blackwater, connecting it back to Red Dead 2.
Maybe for a little DLC but that doesn't sound like a game and honestly with what we know about Lyle and how much i've gotten attached to Arthur as a person, i would rather not play his abusive father. Playing a child abuser doesn't sound like something i'd wanna pay for and i don't think his character has room for a redemption story either since it seems like he died in the middle of his worst time on earth. The really interesting part about rdr1 and 2 for me is that i could love the characters despite their shitty lifechoices. I don't see that happening with Arthur's father tbh :/
@@LOLP499 well it’s just a short bit that I came up with. The bulk of it would be Lyle’s various conflicts against rival gang(s) and such that’s gradually progress an overarching story
I think w/the reconstruction theory you could play as younf dutch right after his fathers death in the war This would allow us to truly understand dutch and his actions/ideologies in thr later games This would allow us to meet a young arthur and john It would also allow us to see Dutch's charisma/coercion on the young impressionable arthur and John
I would love to see more of the Native American tribes taking part in the series. We could explore the lives of Rains Fall and his people with new characters such as outlaws, bounty hunters and government officials taking part in a whole new story line and maybe seeing a young Hosea cameo.
Another cool thing about that idea is it ties into the franchises themes of changing times. Also maybe you’re not allowed into the major towns and cities so you have to ether steal weapons and ammo or make do with bows and throwing weapons (making a high honor playthrough more difficult). Also I can imagine the protagonist having a similar arc as early rdr2 Dutch of fighting a fight they can’t possibly win but also can’t bear to give up
A good Rains Fall story would be cool and a great learning experience of what indigenous culture was like in the mid/late 1800s. You would have to be willing to tell the story of the brutal nature of the raids and pillaging that took place, and the game would kind of take a depressing turn as villages slowly get wiped out from the white man having an unfair advantage with the weapons they have access to.
Me too! Maybe not the same character but the idea of playing as a young native watching his world change as the fight the white folk being pushed further and further away from the heartland. I'd call it Red Dead Reservations.
That feels a lot more like DLC rather than a full game, though I think a funny and ironic feature would be to let John hook up with any woman he wants as a a little nod to him constantly refusing it in the first RDR game lol
I personally like the idea of continuing Jack Marston’s story, because even the late 1910s-20s had elements of the Wild West still present. You could have him basically operating in the same capacity as criminals like John Dillinger or Baby-Face Nelson, along with the early bootleggers, out on the plains and in the backcountry as the true transition into the 20th century begins. Basically it’s a “dead” west and the applicable weapons/technology and tone are generally the same as with the other two games, but just more apparent that the Wild West is dead and that Jack and others are aimlessly fighting in an impossible era.
Just as John had the "regional detour" of Mexico's fictional state of Nuevo Paraíso, and Arthur had the isle Guarma, I'd be interested if a chapter or two of the game was Jack being conscripted in 1917 to fight for the U.S. in WWI. Off to Europe or be in prison for the killing of the retired Edgar Ross.
Landon Rickets is an infamous gunslinger who witness the fall of the west first hand being in its prime and downfall in 1911 he was a lawman and as with being such a good gunslinger you expand on the gameplay mechanics and explain it by saying Landon is more experienced than Arthur and John which he is. As well Landon was at the Blackwater massacre, with the use of perspective you could have a little irony that maybe Landon was the one who shot John without knowing it was him. As well he could’ve seen Mac callender death as possible he was the one who rounded him up. And finally Landon story isn’t fully known so there’s lots of space to come up with compelling ideas. Landon could have his own cast of characters in his story which would be a fresh take on rdr. He could even have his own redemption of being a cocky gunslinger who hardly cared for the meek but becomes a noble revolutionary
@@Waxyyywhen is it hinted at that he cheated in his duels or was a coward? I thought that was Calloway where was it stated/hinted that Landon was a coward?
I think it would be better if you play as Louis instead. Louis is the actual badass gunslinger Landon is just along for the ride. And the story ends when Louis dies and the epilogue is getting revenge as Landon giving him his one badass moment before he retires
Awesome video! Loved all the theories! The Red Dead Reconstruction concept mentioning multiple playable characters immediately gave me a sonic adventure type impression where each character has a story of their own and meet each other throughout their individual stories.
Since Red’s story is kinda folklore in RDR I think it would be pretty cool to do a retelling of his story with a little bit of new story and dynamics and make it somehow canon to the RDR universe
The bounty hunter protagonist idea seems like a pretty good one. It could be one who was a big part in taking down gangs, as the first thing shown in rdr2 is a message saying that the gangs are being hunted down and destroyed, so it would take place before rdr2
Nah I feel like getting the gang thing from a total new characters perspective would feel better than playing as a character we don't necessarily like. It would need to have a good feel as to how other people are affected by the gangs instead of being the gang rampaging through everyone. You play as Milton you might lose that potential feel as Milton is kind of a douche. Not saying that Morgan isn't, because through the truth let's be real he still kills a lot of people, but Milton doesn't seem like he'd have a good story arc. He's just a douchebag cop.
I think the Micah idea would be much better as a dlc. His origin then events leading up to his run in with the gang. From there we could see his side of the story through his twisted perspective and understand his motives. Thus completely altering the narrative by explaining his side and why he believes his actions are justifiable. I personally love this idea because Micah bell is heavily inspired by Charlie Prince from 3:10 To Yuma.
My idea: You start off the game with playing as Arthur's dad about to rob a bank,.the rest of the story plays, etc. Then it pans to his dad's feet where you can see that he is hung and you see a young Arthur. Arthur gets recruited by Dutch, Hosea, etc. it ends with blackwater heist
I feel like rdr3 would be a prequel to rdr2 with the player living as one of the characters who died in the black water massacre and getting to finally see what went so wrong in that heist.
The stories rockstar can tell are endless. For me it definitely has to be how the gang was formed. And maybe a jack marston story. It makes me excited about the future game and that’s all that matters
@@WORMbig56 Only it wouldn't be a good time for an RDR, it should continue towards the wild west and not towards the present. A side story about Jack in GTA would be cool...
Crazy an very nice! Congrats to all and your ideas, a special thank to zonkers for borrowing his channel with the prospect of improving rdr experience, with all "RDRIII" shown that open doors to many others. Great job, mate.
If they did a game following Mac, then it should open with the Blackwater Heist, and revealing that Mac survived but never reunited with the gang, whether that be being chased to the other side of America allowing to explore new areas, or he was imprisoned and escaped. It allows them to tell a new story with a character we never got to meet, and have him go on a journey during the events of RDR2 of between the two games.
@@LouBloom23 I don't think it's too far fetched to say that Milton lied to taunt the gang, but I don't think it matters that he's an asshole, just means there's room for development
A game dedicated to Sadie's travels post RDR2 as she heads to South America would be fun. Could even interlace the start of RDR3 with the ending of RDR2 where you play through Sadie's perspective as she hides away following the final mission of the main story of RDR2 and does her bounty hunting work until she meets up with John and then goes off on her adventure to South America.
Sadie died in a Mining accident , in rdr 1 you can read it somewhere, not sure where, google it, so we wont get a sadie story, besides she cant have a redemption
I think it would be cool if it was about Jack. Maybe him coming back home after serving in world war 1. Maybe starting the game while jack is still fighting in the end of the war.
Totally agree. I think the people who argue against it don’t realize that much of America in the 20’s didn’t look a whole lot different from the 1890’s. My grandmother who grew up in L.A. in the 30’s described orange groves and dirt roads. It really wouldn’t be until after WW2 that we saw the massive development in America’s infrastructure occur. I truly believe there is a lot of potential in playing as Jack in a roaring 20’s era setting.
I hope another prequel with young Arthur, Dutch and Hosea in the center. Seeing how the gang grows and becomes more notorious will be great. But this time more on the west with New Austin or Blackwater being the furthest east.
Yeah. That's the only thing that would make sense after we've seen the live in the gang, at the end and after. There is no reason to not show the beginning
i'd love to see a game set in the early days of the gang. Maybe playing as Mac Callander, a young Arthur, or even Dutch himself. Living in the true west in the glory days of the gang, all the way up until Blackwater, that would truly wrap up the entire story in a neat little bow.
On the theory about playing as a lawman, that whole idea is amazing, and an ending to that could be a twist tie to the other stories, maybe our main character being killed by John or Arthur, or even a story from the pov of agent Ross or miltion
Man, this has to be one of the best Red Dead videos I've seen. The editing was really good, and the ideas from everyone were really cool to hear as well. Great job, all of you! This was really fun to watch!
I haven’t watched the whole video yet but I think having Mac Callander as the protagonist (yes I am suggesting another prequel setting) would be great since we know Milton killed him and it is implied by Javier I think? that him and Sean were quite a rowdy pair
Or playing as Hosea beside Dutch in their robbing days. I would argue Hosea is the Protagonist before rdr1 and 2. His story follows very closely with Arthur and John. A sick man with a troubled past who's only goal later in life is to save and protect the ones who matter to him. Very parallel with Arthur and his TB and John's sacrifice for Abigail and Jack.
@@nirjhar4803How do u kno that..? Also who says it had to be about redemption.. Red dead 3 might not be redemption 3.. It could be revolver 2, or something completely different..
@@savannahpaige3670 I'm just saying it won't be RDR3, but I'm not denying it could still be a Red Dead title... Although the suggestion for him as the protagonist is a bit tired, it could work with good writers.
I personally like the prohibition era shooter theory the best. It'll still have a bit of a wild west feel while in the mountains of Appalachia. The only issue I have with this is that it would lean towards less of a true western game which the red dead redemption games have been known for. A California gold rush plot would be better, the maguffin of a huge gold stash from the gold rush era would be a very easy plot to work with.
The Ricketts game presented by Waxy is actually a good, original idea. In the end of it, you could either have a big, dishonest reputation as a famous gunslinger or a small, true reputation as a humble one. These could each have different upsides, similar to the high and low honour system. With a big reputation, more people would know you and there would be more low-honour money based missions. The smaller reputation would have more people trust you, and have more high-honour helping based missions. It could also lead to you being more trusted by officials like the police and government, meaning less trouble from them and possibly support to fill the less-money gap (at least by a little bit).
I remember after beating the first game you played as John Marston son, I always wondered what if they pick up where they left of and stared a new journey as him.
That would be awesome. Maybe he joins the army to avoid getting caught for killing Edgar Ross, fights in WW1 and comes back to get sucked into Prohibition-era organised crime. I know it wouldn’t be very Wild West, but it would be a fascinating story to tell.
Sadly the Wild West ended the year of the end of rdr so wouldn’t really be a western. The Wild West as such ended in 1912 and rdr was based 1911-14. Imagine jack would have just joined the war or would have started an honest ranch with his family
I personally been thinking about this, I think the 3rd should be hosea’s story, showing him as a young man and give more backstory on the start of the van der linde gang and also how he matures into the man he is in rdr2, it would give answers to questions for the story and show us how the gang started while still being meaningful in a way
Where’s the redemption? And there’s not supposed to be time skips in the main story. And what about the epilogue? Hoseas a conman not a gunfighter either, and when Arthur was young he just explored with his wife. Not really interesting. And we know they don’t do anything major until 1887 but at that point it’s like 6 gang members
HUGE props to the intro. It felt like i was watching a vice documentary, or even a western series. That was really cool and awesome effort. A professional video.
Rockstar should definitely go with Mac Callender, it would be the most seemless transition, I think everyone would like to see what happened during the blackwater massacre, and in the beginning of Arthur's journal there's something about a fire before that as well. I'm sure there's still plenty of story to be told for the Van der linde gang.
And yet Rockstar will create an entirely new protagonist that everybody is gonna love. And in Red Dead Redemption 4 people probably want to continue with RDR3 main protagonist. This cycle has been going on since Red Dead Revolver.
When it comes to Swayer's idea of playing as Micah, I think it would be better to play from the perspective of his brother, Amos Bell. That letter received from him in RDR2 holds so much weight and implies so much history between the two. And he's basically a blank slate that we know next to nothing about, other than the fact that he had history as an outlaw alongside his father and brother. We now know that he disavows that life and is a father of 2 girls, which allows for so much room for complex character development. But we still don't know his ultimate fate. I also think it would be a pretty cool epilogue section to play as Micah meeting Dutch, ending on the Blackwater ferry job.
Personally, I’d love to see a game with Dutch Hosea and Arthur as the three protagonists in a prequel to rdr2. We could start playing as a young Dutch and see the story of him and Hosea trying to rob each other. And then we are later introduced into a young Arthur and the origins and height of the gang. I think it could work similar to GTA Vs character switching and each character possibly having varied dead eye abilities. The game could possibly end with the black water massacre however this would probably require a time jump
Thank goodness someone is finally making a theory on the Calendar boys besides me. I always found them very interesting and the calendar theory never fails to come in my mind when I’m thinking of a future rdr3 game. Edit: Snook is a man of culture.
I want to see Arther’s father, Arther talks about how he was a no good drunk but we play as him, and he tries to stay with his son and be a good dad but the outlaw life keeps dragging him away and making the players feel bad for him until he gets the chance to be with his son, he’s captured, maybe law, rival gang, or something else then hung
I dont think another red dead redemption will happen. I see rockstar creating something new during gta 6s decade. Something that completely establishes the new rockstar devs as a new era of rockstar.
They’d be stupid not to keep going with the RDR series. Let’s be honest, GTA is mainly more popular due to the amount of children that play it. If it weren’t for kids, RDR would be the golden game of Rockstar. If they can make 6 gtas they can make at least another RDR
@@Synpathetix Remember when Rockstar did other IP'S besides GTA and Red Dead and how about a Man Hunt 3 instead or finally make that canned Agent game oh wait none of these will ever happen.
The Lyle Morgan angle is cool, but what I've always wanted in an RDR3 is a young Dutch and Hosea starting out in the outlaw life. You could tie in Lyle Morgan, as he'd be around the same age.
I think a RDR3 game set in the 1860s would be great. They could implement the Civil War. It could also set the stage for some of the parents of the outlaws, such as Lyle Morgan.
Yeah, I've always been a proponent of the Mac Callender for RDR3 suggestion. Glad to see that other people think that, too. His Redemption: he sacrifices himself so that the gang can escape. Main villain: Milton Epilogue Idea: You play as Arthur and you pack off the campsite outside Blackwater, and the game ends on 100% around a campsite just before the Grizzlies, near Stawberry or Owanjila.
The reconstruction and prohibition era are both solid ideas that would freshen up the series. But there is a part of me that would love to see it take place in the northern Midwest. Yellowstone, BlackHills, Badlands, Devils tower. Could take place during Deadwood’s gold rush.
Insane fking production value as always, that intro was 🔥 I just wanna ask, did you get the name Red Dead Rebellion from what Benjamin Byron Davis said on a panel what he thought what the game was going to be called at first? Also the Micah theory was interesting but where does the theme of "redemption" ride into his story?
I think I like the idea of Arthur's Dad and then play as Arthur in the prologue, continuing the red dead tradition of playing as the younger version of the last games main protagonist during better times. Like with John showing how he settled down in Beachers Hope this could be about early Dutch, Hossea and Arthur having early success and recruiting other members from the gang that have either died or just mentioned during rdr2 to give then a quick backstory and the whole game is still set in the west. You would just have to either recton something or make Arthur's dad redeemable by the end of the game because Arthur does not talk fondly about him at all in rdr2.
Yeah I wouldn't really be a fan of a retcon like that... Arthur's father was implied to have abused him and his mother, and he "didnt die soon enough" according to Arthur(which insinuates he likely didnt change much in the end).
The dutch theory: i believe the third installment could be about the player playing as dutch and how he founded the gang and have hints to his downfall to insanity and possibly the prologue could be playing as dutch when the gang split up and continues until his death in rdr1
This was an amazing collab! Love every one of our favorite creators giving us their take for a next installment of the red dead series. If you ever do another one, we would love to give our take as well. Oh and that intro was spectacular btw! ❤
@@zonkers. and you've got some very good content here as well partner! Could have swore we were already subscribed to you. Just let us know if you need anything 🥰
My idea is that we play as a brand new character who is a mercenary/bounty hunter guy. Could be set 1898. He often gets hired to do jobs that get him in trouble with gangs, like odricols and the Van Der Linde Gang as hes hired to take stuff. He could cause the fire up north Author writes in his journal. We could also introduce new members of the gang like Mac and Davy. The gane would end with the Blackwater Massacar3 with him being hired to take part. The difference in this game will be it has the opposite of redemption, him starting as a good, street wise fella and becomign a bad person
Yeah I think going with a brand new character is the best idea. I feel like a prequel to RDR2 would be redundant and there wouldn't be enough surprises.
@@harsh111yt I think it should take place in the romanticised high west era like 1860s-90s, be set further west (with more of Mexico included to) and called Red Dead Revolver 2.
I'd like a Red Dead game where you play as a Pinkerton Agent or as a Lawman. It could be a story about how a character rose in the ranks and about things such as corruption etc... It would be an interesting concept for a Rockstar game as you are always the crim, this could be a whiff of fresh air.
I think a game set on a young Micah bell can be interesting, we hate him but in rdr2 his character was meant to embody the true meaning of a chaotic no rules outlaw killing without reason and seeing how he got to that point could be cool
I like the playing as younger Micah Theory, but i'd like to also see the ability to play as younger arthur, with his struggles with his dad and turning to an outlaw. These two, mixed with younger Dutch would be sick. Throughout the game Arthur and Dutch are close friends, after meeting, while Micah has barely met them, but still has missions that somewhat impact Arthur and Dutch's stories. Eventually in the end, all three characters are together, with the rest of the Van Der Linde gang, where you play through all of the bad business that went down in Blackwater, before eventually escaping into the mountains, where rdr2 starts. I'd also like to see Mac and Jenny have some more importance as well.
So I know the Red Dead series identifies a lot with the Wild West and such but I would like to see the story continue with Jack during the 1920’s, a time where mobs or “gangs” heavily existed along with lots of crime occurring. And of course, Jack is quite familiar with a thing or two about being in one and getting his hands dirty. He would essentially join one and that’s how the story would continue to unfold, or he would start one of his own. Kinda dope imaging a 1920’s Liberty City or something!
One thing I have said for years for a sequel possibly in the future they could do is Australia I noticed a lot in the game the uncle spoke about Australia alot and In Australia there were outlaws plus the environment and animals would suit the rdr world
It would be cool to see an RDR game from the naives side in another state and we can hear references to the gang through newspapers or word of mouth. We could also meet rains fall and flying eagle through trying to make alliances.
Just want to say I appreciate the time and effort in this video. I really enjoyed it! I really like the Callander boys theory… can see it happening the most probably. With that approach we could also see some of the gang that we’ve all come to know… (they just about have to bring Arthur/Roger back somehow, with the impact he made on the series it’d be ashamed not to… just like how they brought back John/Rob)Other than that Fizhys theme is the next in line that I think would actually happen. Sean’s theory was really interesting too.👍
Hope that there will be younger Dutch in RDR3. We all know how Dutch slowly become a villain in RDR1&2. But dont forget, he was a really good guy both as a colorful leader and good father who raise John and Arthur. I actually love to have Dutch become RDR3 main character and how his past slowly force a good guy to become a villain. And of course in the game, we able to see young Arthur and John. This may possible extend more on other storylines like Arthur's parents, John's parents, Arthur's love story with Mary and even his belated wife and son. Also things happened post Mexico-America war.
I enjoy speculating, so I'll add my own. The game begins with Sadie Adler leaving Beecher's Hope, headed for South America (I'm sure you see where this is headed). Where she succeeds in meeting her revolutionary, and in Sadie fashion, is unable to sit on the sidelines and be a housewife. To spice things up a bit, Jack Marston attempts to run from the life he started down after killing Ross, teaming up with Abigail. Now I will add, I do not know South American history, but I'm sure there is some historical conflict this could be based around. There would be plenty of people that hate this idea, but I think having a completely new map could add a little to the franchise. Red Dead Revolucion.
Who's theory did you like the most?

I liked most of the theories but I would have to say it's a tie between the Ricketts Theory and the One Shot Theory for me personally.
I like Snook's idea. I think a prequel bringing us to the Blackwater massacre would be a fun game and another great story since it's earlier in the wild west era instead of the end. Besides, that would make Arthur the protagonist at the end if Rock Star keeps with their same way of making the game. 🙂

If you want a Red Dead style game that takes place at the middle of the wild west, pray for a Red Dead Revolver 2

I want it to be called red dead redemption western brotherhood or red dead brotherhood
@@johnmarston-yi4xyThose are perfect names.
Then the epilouge would be you playing as Arthur Morgan in the weeks leading up to Blackwater.
mac callender did not die saving arthur tho he died a while after they separated from agent milton

@@notane.real1 don't think they would do that either way mac callender would not be a likeable protagonist like arthur or john

@@magiccookies420 exactly idk why people keep saying mac callender like its a good idea
I love the idea of the second theory. A story playing as Arthur’s Dad and then playing as young Arthur seeing Dutch and Hosea would be awesome.
I wouldnt want to play as Arthurs dad. We learn in RDR2 that his dad was abusive
@@katiekaliber We might learn that he wasn’t actually that bad, remember it’s called Redemption.

@DanielNichols-rj3yn idk that time period is the most interesting to me personally
The game would have our protagonist grow to realize how flawed Dutch is and have him begin to doubt, eventually leading to him being killed and the epilogue would have us play as a 25 year old Arthur or something
I just feel like Rockstar didn’t just throw that line of Arthur mentioning a traitor in the game for no reason.
I would love a Landon Ricketts story line about his time as a wild gunslinger roaming New Austin, Mexico or further west.

Personally I think the story should end right before the black water massacre
Replaying RDR2 I'm tired of Dutch and his narcissist ways lol

It would be interesting to see a younger optimistic Dutch. There is a question of if Dutch was always bad and was found out in RDR2, or if he was a good man who turned bad in RDR2. That could be down to player choice or a theme to be explored.
I think we all really want it to be Arthur Before he met the gang

Very nice of yall to leave this video behind for your great great grandchildren to look back on whenever a new read dead game comes out.
And the second part, shows what happened in Blackwater, connecting it back to Red Dead 2.
this is the best one I’ve heard so far
That would be brilliant
this is too short of a great flashback to be a 3rd installment
imo it would be a great spinoff
I think w/the reconstruction theory you could play as younf dutch right after his fathers death in the war
This would allow us to truly understand dutch and his actions/ideologies in thr later games
This would allow us to meet a young arthur and john
It would also allow us to see Dutch's charisma/coercion on the young impressionable arthur and John
I would love to see more of the Native American tribes taking part in the series. We could explore the lives of Rains Fall and his people with new characters such as outlaws, bounty hunters and government officials taking part in a whole new story line and maybe seeing a young Hosea cameo.
i thought about that too, there were much more indians in the 19th century and we dont see almost any
Another cool thing about that idea is it ties into the franchises themes of changing times. Also maybe you’re not allowed into the major towns and cities so you have to ether steal weapons and ammo or make do with bows and throwing weapons (making a high honor playthrough more difficult). Also I can imagine the protagonist having a similar arc as early rdr2 Dutch of fighting a fight they can’t possibly win but also can’t bear to give up
@koehmanm your so right I think they didn't because someone would always get offended at so thing they did
A good Rains Fall story would be cool and a great learning experience of what indigenous culture was like in the mid/late 1800s.
I don’t know what you’re saying zonkers… but it feels like I’ve heard it all before.

Love the idea of it going back in time... I'd also love to see John's year away from the gang - what he got up to! Huge potential there.
That feels a lot more like DLC rather than a full game, though I think a funny and ironic feature would be to let John hook up with any woman he wants as a a little nod to him constantly refusing it in the first RDR game lol
doesnt have that much potential for a game
@@eddiediaz5518i mean considering the events in red dead 2 is speculated to be less than a year its not really that far fetched.

Red Dead Grand Theft Horse Carriage: New Austin
I already talked about a Landon game in this video
@@Waxyyywhen is it hinted at that he cheated in his duels or was a coward? I thought that was Calloway where was it stated/hinted that Landon was a coward?

I think it would be better if you play as Louis instead. Louis is the actual badass gunslinger Landon is just along for the ride. And the story ends when Louis dies and the epilogue is getting revenge as Landon giving him his one badass moment before he retires
But wasn't landon a cheat and shoots people in the back?sod playing as a coward 😂😂
Awesome video! Loved all the theories! The Red Dead Reconstruction concept mentioning multiple playable characters immediately gave me a sonic adventure type impression where each character has a story of their own and meet each other throughout their individual stories.
Waxy’s was good
Since Red’s story is kinda folklore in RDR I think it would be pretty cool to do a retelling of his story with a little bit of new story and dynamics and make it somehow canon to the RDR universe
The bounty hunter protagonist idea seems like a pretty good one. It could be one who was a big part in taking down gangs, as the first thing shown in rdr2 is a message saying that the gangs are being hunted down and destroyed, so it would take place before rdr2
I like that idea. And how about the ending is you are a bounty hunter and help to ruin the Blackwater robbery for Dutch's gang?
@@MegaForrestgump that would indeed make sense as it would answer the question of what all went down on the ferry job
could be milton
If Arthur was a boss we would get our asses kicked
My idea: You start off the game with playing as Arthur's dad about to rob a bank,.the rest of the story plays, etc. Then it pans to his dad's feet where you can see that he is hung and you see a young Arthur. Arthur gets recruited by Dutch, Hosea, etc. it ends with blackwater heist
I love the way you used the True Detective S1 intro as inspiration here
I feel like rdr3 would be a prequel to rdr2 with the player living as one of the characters who died in the black water massacre and getting to finally see what went so wrong in that heist.
Then how would the game end
we didn't see the Blackwater Massacre in RDR2 for a reason, having to actually see it just breaks all the mystery surrounding it
The reason we didn't see it is BECAUSE there is still a story to be told there@@thisbubblygoodness7611
I'd like a Django Unchained type story. Loved the bounty aspect of that movie as well as the revenge part.

That's what I want. A Jack adult story. We've seen him as a kid and teen.

Only 30 seconds into this video but I've already liked it simply for that intro. Amazing work!
John and Red Harlow could fight the mysterious stranger because he layed that curse on armadillo. Also setting John and Author’s deaths into stone.
Milton literally says that he blew his brains out. Also, Mac was described to have been an asshole.
Genius idea for sure let’s start with the END of his story… did you even think before you wrote that dumbass comment?😂
@@LouBloom23 I don't think it's too far fetched to say that Milton lied to taunt the gang, but I don't think it matters that he's an asshole, just means there's room for development

@caisearle no there isn't. We know how the gang ends, we know how its members end. Red Dead fans always have the worst takes.
No one wants to play as a lady ffs😭😭
Sadie died in a Mining accident , in rdr 1 you can read it somewhere, not sure where, google it, so we wont get a sadie story, besides she cant have a redemption
@zuhairahmed7046 man fck you I wanna play as a lady not because there's a lack of main ladies in RDR it'd just be cool to see a cowgirl or smthing fr
Or take place immediately after he kill Ross and take place in Mexico expanding the map down south
That intro alone is 10/10 I'm subbing you for this
How does this not even have 300k views, the into alone would probably have a couple million
I hope another prequel with young Arthur, Dutch and Hosea in the center. Seeing how the gang grows and becomes more notorious will be great. But this time more on the west with New Austin or Blackwater being the furthest east.
I rather that be dlc for RDR2 because it sounds like a waste for a full game.
Yeah. That's the only thing that would make sense after we've seen the live in the gang, at the end and after. There is no reason to not show the beginning
It could be kind of like a rogue one thing, where the last mission takes place at the blackwater massacre.
Omg why not I would really like to play a young Arthur Morgan The People Champion
No, Arthur is done.
If we are to play in the early days of the gang, Dutch will be the better pick.
i'd love to see a game set in the early days of the gang.
Mac's story wouldn't be about redemption though...
@@nirjhar4803How do u kno that..? Also who says it had to be about redemption.. Red dead 3 might not be redemption 3.. It could be revolver 2, or something completely different..

This is the most defiant and original game RD3 could be.
If you think inserting a maguffin into a red dead story is a good idea plz never write anything
@@willkidd2678 Money and safety and getting back to beachers hope and ranching = maguffins

@@iheartcicada those aren’t maguffins and the game writing doesn’t use maguffins
It could also lead to you being more trusted by officials like the police and government, meaning less trouble from them and possibly support to fill the less-money gap (at least by a little bit).
thank you!
Man, this was a really good video, and the "true detective" intro was amazing 👏
Overall, it was an interesting video and a great collaboration 👍
@@edclarkey3054 you're right didn't think about that.
You would be limited on amount of guns any before like 1870...it was all cap n ball and muzzle loaders...those that weren't were few
I mean hoseas cool and all, but he’s not that Important to dedicate an entire game on

Bro that intro was amazing holy shit

Waxy’s idea was top
Personally, I’d love to see a game with Dutch Hosea and Arthur as the three protagonists in a prequel to rdr2. We could start playing as a young Dutch and see the story of him and Hosea trying to rob each other. And then we are later introduced into a young Arthur and the origins and height of the gang. I think it could work similar to GTA Vs character switching and each character possibly having varied dead eye abilities. The game could possibly end with the black water massacre however this would probably require a time jump
Holy shit is that a True Detective reference in the wild?
This is an amazingly edited video! It deserves more views😭

They’d be stupid not to keep going with the RDR series. Let’s be honest, GTA is mainly more popular due to the amount of children that play it. If it weren’t for kids, RDR would be the golden game of Rockstar.

The Lyle Morgan angle is cool, but what I've always wanted in an RDR3 is a young Dutch and Hosea starting out in the outlaw life. You could tie in Lyle Morgan, as he'd be around the same age.
Completely agree
I'm digging the Lyle Morgan story and the Landon Rickets story.
I think a RDR3 game set in the 1860s would be great. They could implement the Civil War. It could also set the stage for some of the parents of the outlaws, such as Lyle Morgan.
The intro is so well edited!
Yeah, I've always been a proponent of the Mac Callender for RDR3 suggestion. Glad to see that other people think that, too.
His Redemption: he sacrifices himself so that the gang can escape.
Main villain: Milton
Epilogue Idea: You play as Arthur and you pack off the campsite outside Blackwater, and the game ends on 100% around a campsite just before the Grizzlies, near Stawberry or Owanjila.
The reconstruction and prohibition era are both solid ideas that would freshen up the series.
But there is a part of me that would love to see it take place in the northern Midwest. Yellowstone, BlackHills, Badlands, Devils tower. Could take place during Deadwood’s gold rush.
Insane fking production value as always, that intro was 🔥
I just wanna ask, did you get the name Red Dead Rebellion from what Benjamin Byron Davis said on a panel what he thought what the game was going to be called at first?

thank you, yessir i did.
For a Micah storyline, call it Red Dead Revenge.
Yeah that'd be more fitting honestly@@figeon
Authors dad was a d*ck though
The dutch theory: i believe the third installment could be about the player playing as dutch and how he founded the gang and have hints to his downfall to insanity and possibly the prologue could be playing as dutch when the gang split up and continues until his death in rdr1
This was an amazing collab! Love every one of our favorite creators giving us their take for a next installment of the red dead series. If you ever do another one, we would love to give our take as well. Oh and that intro was spectacular btw! ❤

I wish this existed so badly
Yes if there is a next Red dead game it shouldn't have "redemption" attached to it
Could we do it about red Harlow then? Because he’s probably the only gunslinger skilled enough for Arthur and John and the rest

If they ever make a 3rd, it should be about Sadie
No one wants to play as Micha...
Rockstar devs taking notes rn
SeanEazyWorld's idea is top-tier Western cinema.
Kinda dope imaging a 1920’s Liberty City or something!
then it wouldn't be a red dead game
One thing I have said for years for a sequel possibly in the future they could do is Australia I noticed a lot in the game the uncle spoke about Australia alot and In Australia there were outlaws plus the environment and animals would suit the rdr world
theres so much potential with these, i think lots of storys that fill the gaps and end quickly would work
12:09 this idea was the best tho
Sean’s theory was really interesting too.👍
wouldnt happen, their characters were not important enough for a new game
Hope that there will be younger Dutch in RDR3. We all know how Dutch slowly become a villain in RDR1&2. But dont forget, he was a really good guy both as a colorful leader and good father who raise John and Arthur. I actually love to have Dutch become RDR3 main character and how his past slowly force a good guy to become a villain. And of course in the game, we able to see young Arthur and John.
This may possible extend more on other storylines like Arthur's parents, John's parents, Arthur's love story with Mary and even his belated wife and son. Also things happened post Mexico-America war.
Love this idea, Dutch as the main character would be brilliant for RDR3
Idts he was ever good like lets be real he is robber who raised and manipulated arthur and used him as he has no but dutch
No bad ideas here, how about we get them all in a Mega 500 hour storymode game that is so big it is sold on an external drive 🤠
