I seen this last night after disassembling my g29 for a different issue, fitted the washers today and I've only had a quick 5 minute spin but it's made a massive improvement,thanks so much for uploading this you have saved another wheel from going to waste 🙌🏾✌🏾

Can’t believe a small washer fixed this issue we’ve all been through 😂 While i was in there i checked all the screws and connections and now it never loses it’s center. Thanks a lot!!
Did this method with a 1mm washer on each side, I got the controller to connect to my pc but it wouldn't initiate the calibration or register any inputs. The white light on the front would just keep flashing. I went back in and added a 2nd washer to each screw and that fixed it. Great video, thank you kindly.

i've been dealing with the offcenter to the left stuff since i got my wheel when it was released in 2016.. going to pull it apart at the end of the week and try this to see if it ends 5 years of unplugging and plugging it back in to recenter it..

I’ve been cleaning the magnet and it’s works flawlessly again but only for a week which is roughly 8-12 hours. I have been opening basically once per week the past couple months when it gets off centered. Will adding this spacer be a permanent fix?

Mine does this once every 2 months, because I smoke in the room. I use wd40, to clean the rotating magnet, and I use tiny cuts of insulation tape, to make my 0.3mm gasket, instead of washers. This guy saved my wheel.
Yea if we can figure out how to recalibrate the wheel with softwear it would be fixed

Interesting. I might have to try this. I've torn it apart before because it feels as if the gear on the end of the motor is physically slipping. I tried to fix this by increasing the spring force by a adding material but I'll try spacing out the encoder next.

I just got a brand new g920 sent to me from logitech for warranty because mine was having this issue then I hook up the new one and it's doing the same thing.... I take both apart and do this and now they both work. Insane.

V helpful. Mine has some issues where it keeps spamming different keys like even out of games, I suppose it's a hardware failure, also won't get gecognized (led blinks rapidly) but funnily it gets recognized when I turn it 90 degrees or so (then it starts spamming keys again). Will your method and will report. Hopefully it'll get this sorted out as well though I doubt only the washers will help
Thats a diffrent problem i have heard of but its worth a try if it doesnt work then the wheel has a diffrent problem
I did it the first time it worked really good but after 4 months it had calibration issues again so i replaced tye spacer but it still had calibration issues can u tell me how big the spacer needs to be
It needs to be 1/16 thickness maybe 1/8 will work aswell it needs to be very small
Do you know the measurements for the washers you used I'm looking to order them but don't know which to get.
You can find a pack of .2mm or .5mm washers. They are realy thin. If you buy a few you can stack them together and make it work every setup is diffrent i used 2 washers on each side to get mines to work but iv used more then 2 for other g920 that i have fixed for people try it and let me know how it goes!
When will the E-brake video come out? And what E-brake are you going to use it is custom or is it bought? Because i plan om buying one and i just need some tips for what is good and what will Work.
I will be buying a ebrake for a car from ebay and modifying it for the setup i will try to get this video out asap i just have to buy the ebrake ! Stay tooned!

Thank you literally so much man it hasn't gone out of alignment even once since I did this. I didn't have any washers so I used dense cardboard lol. Works perfectly though

All my buttons stopped working except for A and Home any fix for that
I added 2 washers (one each side) it worked for a week, now that im getting better at drifting i noticed it started doing it again but the i use it the more frequently it does it again should i just add another washer on one of the side??
I would say take 1 washer off and see what it does. And it it gets worse then put it back and add one more on 1 side. Lmk if it does anything

@@2rztaco tried this now, got the spacers on I,ve got a little metal piece (curve shape) detached somewhere from the wheel, but I dont have a clue where it could be from. I tried connecting the wheel to xbox now and it just blinks that light but doesnt connect

Hello! I have a question, how exactly do the washers prevent from this "dust" issue happening again? Thanks in advance!
So this has nothing to do with any dust. Yes cleaning the magnet will help becouse magnets collect small particuls of metal from the years of use. But the washers are sort of a help for the sensor and magnet to recalibrate. The sensor needs a very specific magnetic force to receive information on where the steering wheel is positioned. Im not to sure how it helps but im assuming that over time the sensor becomes more sensitive and needs a calibration thats why if you space it too much you will have issues with the rest of the buttons not working how they should
@@2rztaco thank you very much for the explanation. So this means, if my G29 is rather new (10-12 months approximately), it's likely that there's just dust blocking it a bit? Because I got scared, once my wheel was 2 degrees off. Thank you in advance :)
@@alix5566 it might not be. This might forsure be a system issue. Nothing to do to fix it unless you do this mod or ask for Logitech for a new one. But it will probly happen to the new one aswell

You mean a flat washer right? And what’s the difference between your other fix and this one?
Yes like 1 mm washer in thickness and its the same but this fix is more detailed
the solution of the first video still work or this is the correct? because i only put one in the right side not 2 spacers and work
Same its diffrent for every steering wheel if yours works fine now leave it and it will be ok dont worry about it

Just had to come back and comment on this video.
Totally fixed the issue with my g920! My misalignment would happen when turning the wheel very quickly from one side to the other, or while crashing and having the FF push the wheel in different directions very quickly.
The only issue I will point out is, the first images you show of where to remove screws, you missed one on the back of the wheel on the bottom of the "T". Great video though!

Instead of metal paint, I put paper ones so that the contacts on the plate do not stick together

This is a very comen problem for the g920. Icant tell you what the others do but its a free fix make sure if yiu buy used to tell them to give you a discount 👍

Just tried this. Immediately I got the issue again but only in a usb 3.1 port the 2.0 port worked fine and seemed fixed.
Intresting you mention the port. Maybe this also has something to do with the system not getting enough current ? 🤔

when i turn my wheel to the right its very stiff and when i connect it, it only goes to the left any solutions for that?

Does it matter if the washer is bigger?
Yes. It has to be about 1 mm thick. If you put something bigger the buttons wont work and the wheel wont calibrate accurately

Where did you get the idea for the washers, it doesnt come with washers from Logitech ?
Sorry for the late reply. But no I think it has to do with the hall sensor recalibrated so the washer is just there to make it think it's set correctly. Irony have an exact explanation for why it works but it seems like over time the signal gets weaker so we have to readjust it
Does this work for pc to or is this only a fix for xbox ?
This fixes the wheel so it will work with whatever platform you decide to get

How did you even figure out which competent was responsible for the problem?
I still can't decide if i should get one of these g29/920 or a T150 or stick to controller.
All these issues on a not so cheap product lol. I keep seeing a bunch of "how to fix X" when checking out videos about these wheels.
Anyways thanks for the video and good job figuring it out. I'm sure this issue annoyed many people.
The hall sensor is what gives the wheel the feedback it seems to decalibrate over time i have no idea why but once i fixed it, the problem never came back and the wheel is pretty good for the price but this is the only big problem with it besides that it works flawlessly with a custom ebrake you have yourself a full simulator
my buttons dont work , if the wheel is turned to left than the button A works as all the buttons
I think you might have a harness issue seems like you have a short somewhere along the harness

Well since this reply was only a month ago I'm going to go ahead and do it as well it seems like all Logitech Wheels have a problem going off center but only to the left for some reason

hi mate i done this but for some reason it wont connect back to the xbox the light just flashes, any advice?
If the spacer is to big it will accualy make it worse and your bottons will stop working all togather you need to try to put a smaller spacer about half the size of the one you installed you only want a small gap

Try adding another tiny spacer. Make sure the first spacer you added wasnt to big or it wont work !

My wheel doesnt work now ):
Check and make sure all cables are hooked up how they should be and if the spacer you put on is to wide it will couse your wheel to not work
This would have worked if one of the screws on the motherboard wasnt already stripped. I basically got it and didnt touch it meaning that it came withe a stripped screw🙄
That means eather someone already opend it or logitech put it like that hard to know but try t ok drill the head of the screw off to take it off

@@2rztaco I found the issue with mine, the usb connector had a short pin and was not making contact.
