Thank you so much man! It fixed my problem, now I can finally sell my g920, now that ive upgraded to a direct drive haha. I used a 2mm ID washer (~0.3mm thick)
I can't believe it... such a stupid little issue caused that i wasn't using this steering wheel for about 1 year and long time ago it settled with dust... today i was looking for some videos on youtube where someone could help to solve that problem and thanks god that i ran on yours. i gave myself a chance and did what you did. Honestly i wasn't expecting that it might work. I puted one spacer between the motherboard and that plastic and the issue still existed. So i tried with 2 spacers and finally i can enjoy playing on my steering wheel. Thanks a lot man ! By the way my issue was a little bit different than yours. i had the same problem with wheel when i was turning 180 degrees no matter which side and the wheel stucked in the same position as yours but i had an extra bonus. Every buttons just switched places, for example: when i was pressing an A button then it turned out to be a 'Start' button. Clutch was X dashboard button etc. lol... and this thing which u showed helped with that as well... So the steering wheel was completely unplayable but thanks to you it doesn't anymore. HONESTLY! I've sent it back to Mediamarkt, because of this issue. They gave the same s..t back to me, saying it has no problems. I brought it home tested it and never touched it since. Now I realized that the warranty is over, so I'm giving this a go.
Dude, it's worked for me! Major issues for over a week, consistently un centering and F'ing me off. Sticking a simple washer in that place has cured the problem and I've had 3 hours of constant drifting with the wheel re centering. Legend ! 👊👊👊
10/10 worked for me. Since I got the G920 a few years ago, it would go off centre within 2 minutes of drifting. Now I only have to reset it once during a gameplay session. Thanks heaps man, easy fix

Just tryed something new. I found out that the sensor is the reason it was doing that so i tryed diffrent things and this seemed to help. But im glad you got it fixed man enjoy it !!

Thanks, It really helped me. When i was playing rally or drifting it just ofcentered every time. It just got worse and worse and this fixed it(so far).
For people that don't have the washer, I used-post it notes and folded that up along the sticky end(folded vertically sticky at the top), I then cut out a small square(about 1cm by 1cm)with only the folded sticky part. Finally I stabbed it with a thin knife(you can try a nail or ping) and twisted it to make a small hole with which the screw can go into. I hope this helps for those who need it and thanks to this video, I can finally steer without any worries :) !
I did the same, cut the sticky part of the post note off then into 5 squares. Stuck them together and put a hole, it’s fixed the issue so far! Thank you man because if you didn’t comment the post it note idea I would’ve been screwed!

Your a genius! I did this too my old g920 that would literally go off center any time you go to counter steer. I did your little trick here an lasted two days before it went off centered. Mind blown. Thank you

I would go with a 1mm washer and go on from there put it on 1 side then if it doesnt work put one on the other side try to keep it even if it works but then does the same again after a long time add 1 more and it should be fixed. let me know what happends ill help you out
I might try this. I always try to not get into this kind of situation, because I hate having to deal with it. I mean I always unplug replug and continue using the wheel, but if I could fix it then yay

@@StolenCarsUk next time dont put it back togather to soon. Add another spacer the same width about 1mm or smaller. And as you increase it might let you run higher feedback and resist more movement. Diffrent amount of spacer widths will make it run better or worse just need to find the sweet spot

Mines worked ever sence i did this and problem never came back try lowering the force feed back a little bit and see if that helps if not then you have to put a diffrent size spacer
@@2rztaco I opened it up again and added an extra spacer to each side. I now have 3 spacers on each size, not very thick each. Maybe 1mm each, so 3mm either side maybe. I hope this works. Thanks for the video and replying.

I am sort of dumbfounded as to how the hell this odd little change actually fixes this issue, but it seems to work so far? Used to off center once every couple minutes if drifting with higher settings that create resistance. Since I did this it has only off centered once in about a half an hour of drifting.
I was surprised aswell when i found out that a little washer could fix this 🤣🤣 it has something to do with the sensor. Maybe over time it decalibrated and cant be set back unless reprogramming?
This does work however this is quite dangerous, i bow have a rattle but i think it can be fixed. It should be fine if you dont mess around with the insides especially the steering rack
I had a little rattle aswell when i had mines i put grease in the gears and put bump stops on the ends so that the wheel wouldnt hit left or right realy hard when your driving and the sound went away after that
Yea so you can try and puting another tiny spacer between it and should withstand more thrashing. Or you can try lowering the power so that the feedback isnt as strong and it wont go off center anymore
I tried this and it’s stopped my power steering and steering input from working alltogether, is there any help I could get on how to put it to normal? Everything is as it came as of right now with no loose wires or anything?
I did use a too big one I think but when I took the spacer off and everything back to normal it still doesn’t work, is there something I can do to fix it?
@@BGcontentproduction its very unlikly that you shorted it but if the spacer is to big it makes everything stop working try puting a smaller one on there just make sure you dont mess up the wires while puting it back togather and youll be ok
Hi please help me, My Logitech g920 is connected to xbox and it works but in the control settings in the game Forza Horizon 4, I can't find the Logitech settings to set up the device, no settings for the Logitech at all, what should i do ????
Hm thats strang. The settings should be located in the forza settings all the way down the list. I havnt heard of that problem. If you still cant find the settings for it it might be that the wires on your wheel might be bad and the xbox isnt reading it
I havent tried this yet, but if this works, this would single handedly turn 400 dollar my paper weight into a really important piece of equiptment for me. Im hoping I'll come back with good news. fingers crossed :P
My G920 Is the same but i do what the steering wheel does im not pushing it to the other side so mine works cinda if you not steer it hard it does work
If you try the spacer it will help you and it will also help if you lower the back feed of the steering wheel so its not as strong these wheels are old and they are not as efficient
I used a small washer thats abput 5mm long and 1mm in thickness maybe a little less or a little over depending on what your steering wheel needs it might be diffrent for me then it is for you if the washer is to thick your buttons will stop working
Before ever pulling it apart plug it into a computer and reset the wheel don’t do this as it’s not recommended and you will loose your chance to be able to take it in and replace it for a new one
@@2rztaco the spacer is probably a mm or 2mm. I put it all back together without the spacer and it didn’t work. I did accidentally get the black wire that goes into the wheel pulled out. Could that have bee the issue?

2rzTaco so far so good i put just 1 spacer on the same side as you and I noticed some cracks in the plastic where the motor mounts are i can send pics i just want to know if it’s something i should be concerned about ive had wheel for 4 days now to 😬😪
Go to the wheel settings and tune the settings you ether have the damp to high or the force feed back to high. If you need a new tune for all settings I can tell you my old setup
Turn up your rotation value on the game settings turn it up to 620 rotation or more so you can have more steering wheel play it should help you and go on my channel and check out my forza videos!👍
Well the thing is that these wheels are abit old nothing lasts forever but this fiz will save you a few houndred $ bettee to fix then buy a new one and risk having the same problem

It's literally impossible to play any game forcefully using the wheel like it's intended without unplugging it. Surely you're capable of realizing that isn't a legit solution.
@@Th3Ran you need to take the front screews on the wheel then take it all off then take all the little screws on the bottom of the casing there are 8 of them they are the ones that are inside the holes but first you need to take the steering wheel off lmk if you need anything else
@@Th3Ran yes clean it with a paper towel and make sure its screwed on right then if that doesnt fix it put a little washer on it like i explained in the video and that should solve your issue

Try adding 1 more spacer in between. Keep the same amount of spa ing on both sides on the screws. It should help abit more. glad to see this helped 🙏

I know that the hall sensor that calibrates the wheel has to do with the buttons and petals. Try messing with the spacers and see if it helps

Idont know man it can be a malfunction in the wheel have you tried to do this mod ? It might help this sensor can affect the steering

0.25mm if you buy a like 5 on ebay you can use the amount you need. You should only need about 2 on each side maybe 1. Depending on your wheel

Doesnt have to be. What is important is the gap that the washer gives to the motherboard

This does work however this is quite dangerous, i bow have a rattle but i think it can be fixed. It should be fine if you dont mess around with the insides especially the steering rack
I had a little rattle aswell when i had mines i put grease in the gears and put bump stops on the ends so that the wheel wouldnt hit left or right realy hard when your driving and the sound went away after that
Hey bro just an update on the mod i got drunk and was thrashing the wheel and it got out of alignment lol only if i really wind the motors
Yea so you can try and puting another tiny spacer between it and should withstand more thrashing. Or you can try lowering the power so that the feedback isnt as strong and it wont go off center anymore
I tried this and it’s stopped my power steering and steering input from working alltogether, is there any help I could get on how to put it to normal? Everything is as it came as of right now with no loose wires or anything?
If you put a big spacer you can lose function all togather try taking off soacer and installing one that is 1/16 of an inch
I did use a too big one I think but when I took the spacer off and everything back to normal it still doesn’t work, is there something I can do to fix it?
@@BGcontentproduction try finding a spacer half the size that you used befor and it should work if it was to big then find one half the thikness

@@BGcontentproduction its very unlikly that you shorted it but if the spacer is to big it makes everything stop working try puting a smaller one on there just make sure you dont mess up the wires while puting it back togather and youll be ok
Hi please help me, My Logitech g920 is connected to xbox and it works but in the control settings in the game Forza Horizon 4, I can't find the Logitech settings to set up the device, no settings for the Logitech at all, what should i do ????
Hm thats strang. The settings should be located in the forza settings all the way down the list. I havnt heard of that problem. If you still cant find the settings for it it might be that the wires on your wheel might be bad and the xbox isnt reading it

My G920 Is the same but i do what the steering wheel does im not pushing it to the other side so mine works cinda if you not steer it hard it does work
If you try the spacer it will help you and it will also help if you lower the back feed of the steering wheel so its not as strong these wheels are old and they are not as efficient
Also, I just noticed this, it's kind of ironic that your G920 video is 9:20 long lpl
bit late to the party but... could you send the measurements of the washer. like the diameter and hole width. cheers

I used a small washer thats abput 5mm long and 1mm in thickness maybe a little less or a little over depending on what your steering wheel needs it might be diffrent for me then it is for you if the washer is to thick your buttons will stop working

Before ever pulling it apart plug it into a computer and reset the wheel don’t do this as it’s not recommended and you will loose your chance to be able to take it in and replace it for a new one

How thick is the spacer you put in it ? If you put it to thick it might couse malfunctions try puting a thinner spacer
@@2rztaco the spacer is probably a mm or 2mm. I put it all back together without the spacer and it didn’t work. I did accidentally get the black wire that goes into the wheel pulled out. Could that have bee the issue?

There are screws at the bottom and in the steering wheel

Turn down the force feed back mess with the settings and see what settings are best for you

Go to the wheel settings and tune the settings you ether have the damp to high or the force feed back to high. If you need a new tune for all settings I can tell you my old setup

Turn up your rotation value on the game settings turn it up to 620 rotation or more so you can have more steering wheel play it should help you and go on my channel and check out my forza videos!👍

Well the thing is that these wheels are abit old nothing lasts forever but this fiz will save you a few houndred $ bettee to fix then buy a new one and risk having the same problem

You need a decent amount of experience to do this job. But most importantly just make sure everything goes back how you took it apart

You can literally just unplug it and plug it back in no need to risk breaking it

It's literally impossible to play any game forcefully using the wheel like it's intended without unplugging it. Surely you're capable of realizing that isn't a legit solution.

@@Th3Ran you need to take the front screews on the wheel then take it all off then take all the little screws on the bottom of the casing there are 8 of them they are the ones that are inside the holes but first you need to take the steering wheel off lmk if you need anything else

@@Th3Ran yes clean it with a paper towel and make sure its screwed on right then if that doesnt fix it put a little washer on it like i explained in the video and that should solve your issue
