  • I first heard this song on the movie Snatch. Learned and recorded a version two years ago and never put it up because I didn’t like how I did it.
    So recently I figured it out again and came up with this.
    I hope you enjoy.

    Man this is just great. Great arrangement, voicing, athmosphere of the video is just perfect! I've been playing for years but always struggle to really practice, but this got me amped up and I've been playing your Golden Brown for hours now. Thank you for bringing this joy back and keep it up my man!

    Impeccable singing, playing and arrangement as usual, Kristen! I'm so glad to see you making videos again. This is my new favorite of yours, after "Everybody's Talkin'". I first found out about you when RUclips recommended this video cover of "I Will" by famofunk. I was blown away from the first note! I watched all the videos in the channel (what little there was on it) and wondered to myself "who is this famofunk guy and why isn't he famous?" I subscribed and shared the channel with the rest of my family and Googled "famofunk". Eventually I found you on Instagram and caught up with your posts and videos there. It's great to see you're getting back to form and recovering from your recent health scare and enjoying life in Colorado. And I'm glad you're using your real name now because people need to know. I wish you continued success, health and happiness in 2024, and keep on playing and posting new videos! We're all eagerly waiting for the next one.

      Thanks so much for the kind words! I play weddings for a living and to be honest most of the time I’m background noise, so it’s always nice to see comments like yours that appreciate what I do. I’m on time off for three months in America and I’m hoping to have time to record some videos and grow this RUclips thing.

      @@KristenFamularo This is such a difficult song to cover because of the crazy time signatures. It took four people to record the original, but you've got this down all by yourself. Really quite impressive! I also did find your Famos & Co website and channel and watched all the videos I could find. I especially love your Duo harmonies with Chelsea. So I'm glad to know that you are making a living playing music. Enjoy your break, but please upload more videos of the songs in your songlist. Or I might just crash one of your weddings so I can watch a full Famo's Duo concert.

    Spectacular as always. Do you pluck the strings with your fingernails or the pads of your fingers? Precision is phenomenal

    • @KristenFamularo
      @KristenFamularo  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks Phil! My fake nails are pretty over grown at the moment so nails were doing most of it in this one. The thumb nail especially.

    • @PhilipLaRocca
      @PhilipLaRocca 7 месяцев назад +1

      So interesting! Thank you. When I pluck with my thumb it’s usually parallel to the neck/strings (with my thumb sort of angled towards the headstock), so never thought to use my thumbnail. Is your thumb more pointing at your chest/perpendicular to the strings when you play? Thanks again and appreciate the insight as always!

    • @KristenFamularo
      @KristenFamularo  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@PhilipLaRoccaI’m usually the same, I’d usually have my inside part of my wrist planted on the guitar for bracing my hand in the right place. Most people use a pinky but I never learned it that way. For this song I didn’t do that, so my fake thumb nail would hit the string alone. It helps with loudness and also made it easier to get those quick double strokes. So it is kind of facing in a little for this song.
