This is the best and the simplest cover of the song that I've listened to.
seems simple because of the video but the audios been recorded and mastered properly with vocoder effects and shit. Theres even another guitar track in there you can barely notice to make it seem as though this is just recorded on a phone

@@checkeredcheese compare the vibe here to the Cage the Elephant cover of the same track. They were on stage with a minimum of $150k+ in equipment and it still sounded kinda bland and hollow.

the song is about heroine so it's funny the difference between your impression and the dark and sad atmosphere from the original song xD
@@rachelgrants4168 It's not about heroin. It's about opium. Talks about it's affect and movement from the orient to the west. No big deal but we might as well get the story straight. The colour of opium is 'golden brown' heroine is stronger and more processed to the colour white.

- Heroin is made from opium, so the trajectory isn't the same?
- I always saw that opium was black but I was not born in the age of the song to see if it was the same color as today so I trust you.
- Heroin can be White or Brown, white china Heroin is really difficult to find nowadays but yeah before it was as commun as the Brown. However, the brown heroin was still present and commonly named "Brown", thats why I thought of it first.

@Fur Q I get it, I know some diehard Stranglers fan who even hated the original as it wasn’t punk enough and too commercial, so they would definitely dislike this. For the record I loved both this cover and the original.

I continue to come back to this cover because of how majestic it is. I never heard of Dave Greenfield, but I heard his name when he died while listening to Marky Ramone's Satellite Radio Station, and Marky started playing this song. I was so blown away by it, and went on RUclips to find some covers of it, and that's when I found this one. This inspired me so much that I decided to add it to my list of songs I cover. I don't know what it is, but the production of this track, the level of ambience it has, makes this one of the best covers I've heard of any songs on RUclips.
She is amazing am a stranglers fan and this is the best cover of golden brown iv ever heard and she is beautiful.
She is beautiful, but to be honest, it wouldn't matter if she looked like Rosa Kleb - her voice is beautiful and I think she did The Stranglers proud with this cover.
