Of the 52 versions of this that i have checked out so far ....yours is the only one that has brought me to tears because...it is so beautiful...thank you
The one by the Stranglers makes me cry because the words and what I feel they mean, but this is the only other version that has moved me so, and I honestly do not know my favorite....
From the heavens she hails The harpist of Nottinghamshire Through her music does my mind sail, To lands of blissful pleasure Be blessed muse, child of Apollo In your magic does my soul find solace In your music do I drown my sorrow Oh fair lady, You make the world feel like a better place...
This is great! You play this so authentically and I love the sound of the cross strung harp, it's perfect for this song! Also, loving your atmospheric lighting - that shadow behind you looks awesome!
This deserves a thumbs up.There is something fascinating about it.I felt being sent back to the middle ages in the middle of mysterious light beam flooded forest.
It is anyway a brilliant song but through the hands of Christine it goes beyond imagination. I've been listening at this music so many times and every time (just like the last) I'm dreaming of that same dream which I can't explain yet it makes me so happy. And as a sentimental person, here is my wish for Christine. I wish God bless these hands and let them make the whole world happy in the same way you make me happy. Keep on creating and take care. 🏵
This is such a beautiful rendition... i cant stop listening! And I absolutely LOVE how you stretched out the ending.. like a soothing lullaby. I love this. Magical.
I also early on associated this song with boats/sailing. Of course it was the beautiful tune, harmonies and instrumentation that I loved first, regardless of lyrics. There was an article in Woodenboat magazine about most popular yacht names around that time, and Golden Brown was at the top one year. At the time I had known the heroin reference, so I wondered to myself how many of these people used the name knowing that, and how many didn't. Owning a yacht has been described as like standing in a cold shower tearing up $100 bills, or another good one is "a yacht is a hole in the water where you throw in money." Oh yeah, this is a beautiful rendition. Thank you.
A most accomplished cover of this beautiful Dave Greenfield melody. A poetic ballad of great feeling and so musically sympathetic to the original piece. Well done. Waltz in Black?
This song moves me to tears, and your is the best..... I can just imagine some soprano voiced bard singing her heart out to the words by The Stranglers set to your harp... ❤❤❤ thank you, this is amazing
