Lennard I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I guess that I was so focused on staying in sync that I forgot to pay attention to the performance. In fact, I had to slightly slow down the original as it has been recorded in in awkward pitch and retune my harpsichord to match it.

For me, the magic of this song lies in the fact that I can't put my finger on it. The harpsichord and that 6/8 time, along with the way the lyrics hint at the subject matter with metaphors are obviously big elements...
This song reminds me too much of my opioid days... suddenly I wish to be with her again once more, just to feel the reverie one last time. But there is the error in my thoughts--for there is no such thing as 'once more'.
This really blessed my ears and soul! Ive been listening to this song daily..I recently uncovered it in my old playlists, and am just reliving the beauty of this masterpiece all overs again.
For me, it needs less Sostenuto, I would respectfully discuss this with the player if I were ever fortunate to hear them play this in person and they were inclined to talk about music with me. Good job. Dave told me he always had a piano in the house when he was growing up. I never really asked him about his approach to playing. I guess he got his inspiration from many different sources. He was a great composer.

One of my friends had a music room which had a spinet , which was great to hear Golden Brown on but this is the real deal. I love how rich the sound is . Incidentally , the music room also had a church organ installed into it so I could play a devilish rendition of Waltzinblack too . Happy days ...
