Finally somebody did it! A harpsichord cover of Golden Brown! I waited for years to hear this. This song has some unique magic in it and it only the harpsichord can truely unfold it. Piano and guitar are nice but this song just needs the harpsichord. Brilliant, Sir, just brilliant! I enjoyed it immensely! Thank you so much! (In case you are heading for ultimate perfection you can try to put even more emotions in it, emphasizing certain parts, or play it on a real old harpsichord on the next run.)
Lennard I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I guess that I was so focused on staying in sync that I forgot to pay attention to the performance. In fact, I had to slightly slow down the original as it has been recorded in in awkward pitch and retune my harpsichord to match it.
You did very well. I imagine it is super tough to learn. I dream of playing it one day. Unfortunately I never had any piano lessons let alone harpsicord lessons. I assume you have to practice many years before it makes sense to learn how to play Golden Brown?
Lennard Not really, in fact I learned to play this myself after my first year of harpsichord lessons. Luckily where I live harpsichord is taught in certain music academies.

I agree, I like the Dave Brubeck original, but the two covers by this guy and the Stranglers are pretty good. Interesting interpreting a Piano based Jazz original with Harpsichord!!!

Same here! You just described exactly how I feel about this song. I've been obsessed with it for over a year especially because of the specific sound of this incredible instrument - which I found out about it's existence because of this song. There's something about it that's so addictive and as you said I can't get enough. It's a pity that harpsichords aren't so common in current days
@Cricket Explained My old cheap yamaha keyboard has 7 harpsichord sounds, so yeah :D It's funny that somebody wants to buy a hapsichord just to play this song.
This song reminds me too much of my opioid days... suddenly I wish to be with her again once more, just to feel the reverie one last time. But there is the error in my thoughts--for there is no such thing as 'once more'.
I had this song stuck in my mind but didn't know the name or the artist, so i just searched for "harpsichord rock song" and i clicked on this video. Thanks for such a beautiful interpretation.
This song is just so magical. You could hear it played at a medieval dance at "Game of Thrones, or House of the Dragon", it's just got this way that you could just hit repeat for hours on end and never tire of it. Thank you for the harpsichord cover.
the most beautiful piece of music ive ever had the pleasure of hearing, since the first times my ears laid bare to this masterpiece in 1982,ive been hypnotised by it,i even tried learning it on keyboard to no avail.thanks for that beautiful rendition,it was hypnotic

For me, the magic of this song lies in the fact that I can't put my finger on it. The harpsichord and that 6/8 time, along with the way the lyrics hint at the subject matter with metaphors are obviously big elements...
