About The Hidden Blade:
A lower-class samurai, named Katagiri, secretly loves Kie, a servant in his family's household. Eventually their perception of honor forces them to part, and he must turn his focus toward a disheartening task. His old friend, Yaichiro Hazama, has been fomenting rebellion against the government, and Katagiri must hunt him down and kill him.

After playing Ghost of Tsuhima on PC, I wanted to watch good samurai movie. So I searched in IMDB and finally picked this one, oh man I was so lucky, such a gem, I was expecting action movie but got masterpiece instead. Beautiful movie, beautiful..
Love this flick. Katagiri and Kie. They make a wonderful couple.

wonderful movies,i havent watched them in a long time,do you remember if the stories from twilight samursi and hidden blade connected or did they just have most of the same cast playing completely different story?
RE-L Mayer Twilight Samurai and Hidden Blade is different story. Besides casts have been changed. Both of them depend on Fujisawa Syuhei’s novel.
@@kumokirinizaemon100 i think back 10 years ago,i watched the second one first,so i watched hidden blade and after found out they had twighlight samurai, i didnt bother to research and i thought it was the same story lol

Director Yamada wrote the screenplay combining 2 independent short stories, both written by author Shuhei Fujisawa ( already dead ). Fujisawa wrote dozens of samurai stories but I don't think any of them has been translated into English.
