Yeah, a solo dev doing all of these different environments, animations, sound design, in-game sequences... it's pretty damn impressive. The game is made in Unreal Engine 4... the only thing giving that away is the human characters, they look very "unreal" to me... but everything about the game has me interested. :D Glad you like the look of the game! :D

That's why human models are simpler than in AAA-project, and why many voice lines were created with AI assistance. He was focused on gameplay and shooting impact, and he did it pretty good.

I haven't gotten to this yet, but it's in my library on steam. I loved Half-Life, and I have heard people refer to this as what you did, a Russian Half-Life. Unfortunately I have a fair amount of games in my backlog, but cool to see you get to it bud! I have heard nothing but good things about it. Also the fact it was developed by a single person, and it appears better than a lot of AAA games out there, it's very cool to see. You throwing the microwave at that guy was hilarious 😆😆 38:16 inspiration from S.T.A.L.K.E.R? The Bloodsuckers from that series. Cause they could go invisible too.

Hello from Russia. I am proud of this russian game primarily because it was made by just one man over period of 4 or 5 years. Of course it's not like Atomic Heart but still great for what it is.
I like this game more than Atomic Heart as far a Russian games go. This game reminds me of some of the earlier horror games, also I don't find shooting robots all that fun

And you can tell it's a deliberate design choice, considering gameplay, sounds, GUI and even menus are emulating Source and Half-Life 2 in particular in many ways. It's a cultural thing, people here historically gravitate towards PC, value good games, and often nostalgic - those traits combined more often than not result that adult gamers here (which are a target audience for that game, obviously) even having a 4090 PC will highly likely have HOMM3/Warcraft 3/Gothic/CS 1.6/TF2/Space Rangers 2 or something like that right on the desktop, and those who consider themselves a dedicated gamers would probably have various emulators as well up to NES at least on top of that. And just to make sure you won't think I'm trying to change the topic, no, it's not hard to get a modern GPU here today - it would be more expressive for sure, but the standard is not that much lower as you might think, in 2024 top-5 most selling GPUs in retail are MSI GeForce RTX 4060 VENTUS 2X, Palit GeForce RTX 3060 Dual, MSI GeForce RTX 4060 Ti VENTUS 2X Bl 8G OC, MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Super 12G VENTUS 3X OC and Palit GeForce RTX 3060 Dual OC, overall GPU sales have doubled since the last year. Whoa! Was gonna buy this already, but I'm gonna watch your playthrough anyway. Seems like the kind of game that watching a playthrough doesn't particularly spoil because you play for the gameplay, like a serious sam game. Far as I can tell, you didn't miss anything too important from the unsubtitled voice lines. The "special happy fun time place" label was sadly just "elevator hall" (sorry). Also, some of the subtitles are very jank, but I guess they get the point across.
LOL my name for that area was so much better! xD It's very gameplay heavy, not really story heavy... but it's inspirations are very noticeable. It's odd. This game at times seems like a strange middle ground between source and source 2. If one person is behind this then it's very impressive
