Dont know if you will ever read me, but every fucking word you both say, pierces directly into my soul. I´m not going to tell you how great I will be or remember my name and all of that bullshit.
I just want you to know, since I saw the last 2 videos you made together, I analyzed my self, and realized that I am, without a doubt, a quitter.
I wanted to be a content creator full time since I was like 10. Never had the guts to even fucking try, the public humilliation of failure was always to damn frightening. That was my "and they are right" moment, for those that ever doubted me. So I decided to put this on my skin:
"Giving up is not an option, I either become who I want to be, or I die trying, which is the same thing, because the person that I want to be, is a person that doesn´t give up. For my honor is worth more than my life, if I can´t live my life with honor".
So thank you, when I am content creator full time, and my dream becomes my life, I will always remember you both.

Hi, when Hormozi says he now just says no to people or things if he doesn't want to do it. how do you think he would handle that thought in his own company if a more quailified person asks him to to something? I think if you going to practice something it needs to be tested in a difficult situation. My thinking is what the extent of use for this one and if it is not carried out doesn't that mean you are not authentic?

Recently broke up w my girlfriend (1.5 months ago), after doing a load of personal/emotional development work over the last 3 years, I've been able to come out of the relationships basically unscathed, untouched. Have had so much emotional power to focus on what matters to me, and avoid all disempowering feelings. Noticed that the world is constantly trying to reinforce you back into believing that you are "going through" some break up, or should be feeling bad in some way. Appreciate the two of you getting together and reinforcing my recent experience positively. Always happy to listen to the gladiators in the arena of today, Hormozi and Chris.

I just need to let my brain process with clarity what you just said.
Teach listening first. Then teach how to speak.

LIST of 17 QUOTES Discussed in this Video 👇
    0. “Hard things are hard, that’s why they’re hard” (0:00)
    1. “The biggest risk to your future isn’t your competition, it’s the distractions you insist on keeping in your life rather than doing the things you know you should be doing but aren’t.” (0:06)
    2. “Bad things don’t come in threes. Bad things happen, people don’t know how to cope, and they allow one bad thing to snowball into more. Bad stuff sucks, the only thing worse is letting one bad thing ruin many good things.” (09:09)
    3. “Successful people see opportunity in every failure. Normal people see failure in every opportunity. Both are right, only one gets rich.” (13:18)
    4. “You once wanted the life you have, and if you don’t like the life you have, you probably won’t like the one you want but don’t have either.” (23:52)
    5. “We don’t rise to the standards we have when others are watching, we fall to the standards we have when no one is watching. The only work that really matters is the work that no one sees. It shows you who you really are rather than who you say you are.” (31:14)
    6. “If you want revenge for the bad things that have happened in your life, start with the version of you that hasn’t lived up to your potential” (42:03)
    7. “Everyone is jealous of what you’ve got, no one is jealous of how you got it” (46:47) - Jimmy Carr
    8. “There’s a saying that if you do what you love you will never work a day in your life. At Apple, I learned that is a total croc. You will work harder than you ever thought possible but the tools will feel light in your hands” (53:43) - Tim Cook
    9. “Why I hate being around negative people: Being an asshole is a weak person’s idea of strength. Complaining is their connection. Never let yourself be held back by other people’s fears. People criticize what they are afraid to do themselves because bold action reminds them of their own inaction. If you are afraid of being criticized, why do you care about the opinions of those who are too timid to do it themselves? If you are the criticizer: Does tearing down someone who has the courage you lack make you better?” (1:01:24) - Mark Manson
    10. “Reminder for anyone internally debating weekend plans. If you don’t want to go, don’t go. If they care whether you go or not, they don’t care about you. If they care about you, they don’t care if you go or not. Just because you have free time, doesn’t mean anyone who asks for it is entitled to it” (1:08:07)
    11. “Admit it. You aren’t like them. You’re not even close. You may occasionally dress yourself up as one of them, watch the same mindless television shows as they do, maybe even eat the same fast food sometimes. But it seems that the more you try to fit in, the more you feel like an outsider, watching the “normal people” as they go about their automatic existences. For every time you say club passwords like “Have a nice day” and “Weather’s awful today, eh?”, you yearn inside to say forbidden things like “Tell me something that makes you cry” or “What do you think deja vu is for?”. Face it, you even want to talk to that girl in the elevator. But what if that girl in the elevator (and the balding man who walks past your cubicle at work) are thinking the same thing? Who knows what you might learn from taking a chance on a conversation with a stranger? Everyone carries a piece of the puzzle. Nobody comes into your life by mere coincidence. Trust your instincts. Do the unexpected. Find the others…” (1:32:02) - Timothy Leary
    12. “There’s no perfect way to live your 20s. You either live them up and become an underskilled 30-year-old, or you work them up and become an underlived 30-year-old. You just have to figure out which you’d rather be. Accept the tradeoff and know that there are no do-overs” (2:03:44)
    13. “You really can solve a lot of male problems by getting in shape and making money. You still have problems they’re just smaller and you have more resources to handle them. The world is there for the taking for anyone who can learn from their mistakes, do what they say they were going to do, and stick with it even if it’s not sexy. What used to make a man acceptable now makes you extraordinary. The bar for winning has never been so low.” (2:16:53)
    14. “How to avoid tons of problems in life: go to bed on time” (2:25:00)
    15. “Having a clue is overrated. There’s this funny myth that people actually know what they’re doing. I’ve spent time around some of the richest, smartest, highest-status people on the planet, and let me tell you: It’s idiots all the way up. Normalize saying ‘I don’t have a clue, I’m going to work out how to do it anyway’.” (2:31:59) - Chris Williamson
    16. “A lot of self-work can be summarized into: Thoughts aren’t true, feelings don’t require actions, things aren’t good or bad, they just are. Our greatest enemy is ignorance. To change your life, change your surroundings. Our actions, not our pasts, define who we are.” (2:34:28)
    17. “I have led a toothless life. A toothless life. I have never bitten into anything. I was waiting. I was reserving myself for later on, and I have just noticed that my teeth have gone.” (2:55:36) - Jean-Paul Sartre
Quick closing disclaimer: I've transcribed most of these quotes by hand, there might be a couple of errors as English is my strong second language. Most of the quotes that weren't directly associated with an author are either from Alex Hormozi, or an author I do not recognize. Cheers!

🧠My favourite resonating ideas in no specific order:
    Definitions:
    Learning: Same condition different behavior
    Intelligence: Speed, rate of learning
Motivation: The equal opposite of deprivation, we are most motivated when we are deprived of something.
SADNESS: the *perceived* lack of options
Anxiety: many options but no priorities. Scattered but can’t decide.
    1. We need to be reminded more than we are taught. Remind yourself of all the best productivity advice you learned, instead of consuming more of the same.
    2. People are attracted to authenticity: true alignment of what you think, say, and do.
The hardest part is realizing our thoughts are fucked, and we have to fix them instead of faking the next two.
    3. The leading indicator of a succesful person is the ability to act without anything happening.
    4. Being directionally correct is more important than having a perfect clear path. Often taking the first step illuminates the next. Bias towards action.
    5. How to filter good from bad content: can they break it down to what actions you must take specifically?
    6. Regarding learning definition: Every time you read, listen, or watch something, in order to learn, ask yourself: What behavior am I going to change based on this content?
    7. Best framework for hard times: The bigger the dragon, the more epic the story, the more epic the hero
    8. Hyper proponent of narrow single focus - extend time horizon for goals. Choose one !PRIORITY for that PERIOD of your life - instead of a scattered attempt at 10 projects with no output.
    9. All you have to do to fix sadness is figure out what you need to do, and that is your option, figuring out what to do
    10. How to avoid tons of problems in life: go to bed on time (Bedtime alarm) + swap your 3-5 most common meals with healthy ones = King of the world
    11. NORMALIZE SAYING: “I don’t have a clue, but I am going to figure it out anyway!”
    12. 95% of Self-work
    a. Feelings don't require action: Create a gap (TIME) between your impulse and behavior
    b. To change your life change your surroundings: Want to change x, y, z = compare yourself to succesful doers of x, y, z.
    13. Ultimate hack for the ones who make content: Just tell the truth, you will make so unique content. Just say what you really think adds value.
    a. Don't be scared of saying your opinion

I think most people would feel awkward pausing for that long, but after watching him I'm convinced that this only emphasizes the weight of the words he ultimately chooses. Also love his tone of voice when he speaks. It's soft, but it doesn't detract at all from his strong presence. You can tell he's as authentic as they come -- I will be watching more from him!

Powerful conversation. Speaking of inputs and outcomes, I've been using this as input for 1 week: listen for 15 minutes, then get to work. Jump back for 15 min. get to work. Still only 70% through this podcast. Solid gold throughout. This is the new stoicism- contemporary, relevant philosophy on how to be a different sort of being. It's not easy for me to transcend my idiot habits, self-doubt, old patterns of being. I have found it helpful to hallucinate an internalized Alex as a member of the small counsel of my internal dialog. I'm like "do I do it now or just indulge myself in old comfort seeking habits, and do it tomorrow? What would Alex say?" Alex: "You can do it tomorrow, but in 4 generations no one will remember your name." Hurts so good. It's not about the result. It's about becoming the kind of person who gets off on the feeling of knowing at the end of the day you honestly emptied the tank. There are no external judges. It's about stacking evidence that aligns with that future self. Proof of concept. I am in the middle zone. Between planets. Committed to my efforts and no longer connected to the past. yet the massive external success is still on the horizon. Others have been where I am now. No one in my social circles can relate to what I am doing. I am not on the level of these 2 cats. But I am, as Alex puts it, directionally correct. Thank you guys for the external validation, philosophical cattle prods and hard words of no bs masculine encouragement.

It may seem unrelated, but learning golf the last few months has really reinforced how you need to put in the reps if you want success. Can't just sit around and hope to get better at golf. Gotta hit 1000's and 1000's of balls and put in the work. Same for being successful at anything. Sure, there's luck; but it's far better to make your own luck by taking action rather than sit around hoping to get lucky.

His definition of motivation was awesome and I think it makes even more sense when you add one more element.
Motivation = hunger for something + a belief that this thing is attainable through intense action and that it won’t be attained without intense action.
The belief aspect is why some poor people can be hungry without having motivation. They don’t believe that effort will make a difference. It is also why a football team stops being motivated once the score is so bad that they don’t think they can win.
It is also why video games are so addicting, you know that beating every level is in fact possible.
