    Oirad means forest folk, Dzungars means left flank in Mongolian. Literally the tribe from the forest made up the left flank of the Mongol empire at its peak expansion. So Pushkin didnt like our tea. Well its his loss. Its a hearty drink that helps you survive the harsh winter.

    • @paulsdancing5429
      @paulsdancing5429 7 месяцев назад +12

      @marcomongke....agreed, it was Pushkin's loss. The tea is a part of Kalmyk's culture and it helped to preserve Kalmyk's existence. I see no maliciousness in the statement. With his visit, Pushkin showed his respect for the famous Kalmyk people.

      As long as the arms merchants make money off wars, they will always want to frame somebody as the evil meanie nation. Then conned citizens will go along with the next nutty war, imagining it is a heroic civil duty to make oil barons richer and richer while spending billions on weapons and ammunition and funerals. When it is convenient to describe Russia as a friend (World War I and World War II) that is the story. When money can be made fighting Russia, that is the story (Cold War and now). Either way it is propaganda as convenienced by the moment. In a few years the story will change back again. Then reverse again after that. Learn from history and you can predict the future. Try reading Orwell's book "1984."

    Those must be the fluffiest camels that I ever saw. The camels in my neighborhood look shabby in comparison - but I won't tell them.

    Interesting to have a strong Mongol based culture so far west. Did not know Kalmycia was a western region Mongols stayed and their culture endured. Right next door to the Caucus and just above Iran. Russia truly is highly diverse with the good thing cultures have been conserved similar to their ancient heritage. So windy there - and then so hot in the summertime. I might try the tea but don't like the sound of it. Your presentations are greatly appreciated - Thank You. My guess is you are going up the Volga River in your next travels.

    I am always happy to see your in my opinion quite informing, interesting and nicely made videos, but usually don't expect anything or wait for anything concerning this!😊🙂☺️ (I have still many of your older videos left to watch and comment to improve some skills in an increasing successfull and self motivating way thanks to the proper impulses of my mother and others!!)😌
