@@player-vo8yb As much as I want to pretend that that's the case, I honestly just think the actors aged out of that energetic stage. Even the audio is more muffled. I think this show could have benefited from more effort in this regard.
I appreciate the work that goes into doing this. It looks great! I wish the creators would've employed some of this in the show, even just for a few key scenes like this one.
bro this is putamente épico. shit i gotta go to make me a paypal to finally see this scene complete. love how you deaged jesses voice, really a well done job
It's not just their faces he actually fixed Jesse's VOCALS as well. Seems not many noticed this. The original the voice was a bit off since Aaron Paul's voice got a bit deeper as he aged .... and it worked it sounds like the young Jess again! his voice was the one thing throwing this off. GREAT JOB
I still don't understand how Aaron Paul looks and sounds more like Jesse in the stupid Superbowl Pop Corners commercials than he does for an actual reprisal of his role in the series sister show. I'm 100% convinced that those commercials were filmed years ago when the show was in its height, but only came out after BCS ended just to squeeze out some more from the characters. idk
This is so impressive. There are still some shots here or there that signal something in the back of my head "this is fake, this isn't real", but it's so much less than I would have expected. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even notice if the entire show looked like this. I can't believe how far the technology has come in just a few years. I bet in the next 4-5 years it's going to be impossible to notice. It will be interesting to see what fans are going to do with shows like Better Call Saul when that day happens.
Honestly it's not that hard to brush it off as Jesse's voice getting sore after yelling. Because in the scene before this, Jesse was literally yelling at Saul on top of his lungs. He sounded way better in the scene with Kim.
@@marigold2450-ip7cz in the cold open of season 5 for BCS, the cabbie we later learn is named Jeff was played by a different actor than he ends up being played as in season 6, I believe due to scheduling incompatibilities with the original actor.
I just realized they used this scene to explain a detail in the episode "Better Call Saul" that I always had an issue with. In BB, when Walt and Jesse go to pay Saul they come with the amount of money he was about to ask for when they talked about expecting to be paying less than 10k. It'd be odd to bring that much money without being given a price before. At 2:12 they talk about the 80k and that Saul is expecting them to bring it. Maybe the writers always knew that what was said during the off scene convo in the desert in BB, but it's cool to see attention to the small details as always
Yeah for stuff like minimizing the details of dialogue I always just assume a lot of specifics are ironed out off screen. With anything that requires details really.
I can get back the aging and whatnot, but the anxiety Aaron Paul acted in the original show was great. This scene makes him sound like he's endured 30 years of bullshit in about 1 minute.
Yeah I definitely think it could have been handled with better here... Some of it's not just his voice though but the actual writing. All of the b**** and yo stuff is gone....
i can’t express my gratitude towards gould and the production team for not using de-aging technology, they knew that bryan and aaron would be more than capable of encapsulating the mannerisms of their respective characters. plus, regardless of how much effort and how many resources are applied, it always looks vaguely artificial.
This is UNBELIEVABLE!!! And Jesse's voice... I didn't even realize that much of what felt "off" about him in this scene was his voice! And lol for real, Bryan has been about 55 for at least 3 decades.
I didn’t realize the aged audio also some deepfake to de-age their face too. So when the original was compared I was like “wow, they matched the original breaking bad scene, beat for beat!” 😂
This looks so much better than what was in the show. I was really disappointed that they didn't do this on the show, it really took me out to see an obviously-in-his-early-40s Aaron Paul trying to play a 20 year old (also in El Camino, Paul playing a younger self and Cranston wearing an obvious bald cap).
@@KASC92 Yeah I know he was older playing younger, but he could still get away with it in the first season or two. But now? No way. And not just physically, his mannerisms and I think even his voice might've changed slightly (then again that could be the recording process changing across seasons).
Outstanding work. Sadly, no amount of CGI will can make this scene work because of Aaron's acting. I don't know if he forgot that this scene took place before El Camino, but he's acting like a cold hardened badass, when he should be an immature kid you wouldn't take seriously. I mean, at this point he just met Jane, Combo is still alive. Literally his most traumatic experiences so far were getting beaten up by Tuco and losing his house. He even had a website that stated "MILF'S!" as his main interest and "The STREETS, YO!" as his education.
You can make sense of it if you just accept that this scene takes place really late at night/early in the day and Jesse is just really tired in this scene.
@@linguadegato_ even at this point, I would say Jesse was not sure what intentions Walter had for Saul.. But yeah, I forgot about the real reason they're there, thanks man.

I do believe many years down the line Better Call Saul will have a de aged version. I’m fine with it right now though. The story was so good it didn’t matter.
Thank you for this, if you could de-aged Don Eladio in Better Call Saul it would be perfect, from all the characters it was the one that bother me the most.
As much as I loved both Breaking Bad and BCS, I have to critique this scene solely on the fact that the RV, doesn't look like an RV, it looks so much bigger than it did in Breaking Bad and it kinda throws it off, still was in awe seeing them on camera again
Great work. I'd love to see the scene from "Point and Shoot" where Lalo forces Gus into the lab and Gus talks into camera. Gus's younger look from BB makes him look far more innocent. Lalo doing that to a young Gus would REALLY seem like Gus is screwed.
Omg. Why didn’t they just do this. The episodes we got didnt impact me at all because the obvious aging was so jarring. I just couldn’t suspend my disbelief. This is fucking amazing.
The main differences between old Jesse and young Jesse are that 1 his body is visibly older, 2 his voice is older, and 3 his mannerisms are not as bombastic.
compared to breaking bad, this scene feels much more authentic regarding how it would feel to be in their place at that moment, breaking bad glamourised the crime lives of jesse and walt through good lighting, angles and atmosphere. This scene feels much more flat and authentic, like you are just standing there with them, watching a sort of documentary or even a replayed memory. You feel the emptiness and suspense you imagine the characters would feel and you can relate to their anxious state better, while in breaking bad, it was all sugarcoated by good cinematography making me feel how they must be having fun doing such a thing despite looking anxious and desperate as hell. This scene is more sober compared to BB, just another day trying to make it for those 2
I think even if just Jesse's voice wasn't so deep here it would have gone a long way too.. He just feels and sounds like El Camino Jesse here lol. But I'm of two minds about it, trusting the audience to understand that people age, this is just the way things are, we must accept them, - it's understandable, and seems a way to also respect the actors Vince is bringing back to work with, as they are. But on the other hand, this tech - at the airing of this episode in 2022, it's not in it's infancy enough that it looks like total shit, and it adds the consistency that you are already trying to capture to bring the story full circle, so why not just take advantage of that? I don't know. But most people talking about how noticeably old Jesse feels here is more of a distraction than de-aging him would be, I think. Or maybe Vince just gave up on trying to alter actors appearances to fit the timeline after the El Camino controversy with Walt. Either way, hats off to the person who made this because they did a great job!
I'm I the only one who thinks Jesse doesn't act like Jesse here?. He seems more mature and calm, while in the previous scene which happens in Breaking Bad he is way more chaotic.
i feel like it was their appearance that was jarring, it was unfortunately aaron paul's performance. it feels like he kinda couldn't get into the character of the young jesse
I have a feeling there will be a very extensive fan edit of the entire series at some point to make age a little more consistent. Even if it’s not NEEEDED, that would still be pretty cool. I do however appreciate the show’s faith in the fanbase to not be overly concerned about it. They could’ve easily made those tweaks themself, but felt that the performance is what really mattered.

Well this scene isn't supposed to have a lot of there regular energy there telling someone new about there plan and risking alot
yeah wtf why aaron was more energetic makin the popcorners comercial but in bcs was like "uhh da crystal ship that travells" or something like that idk
it's in the middle of the night.
they are supposed to act tired from the whole day, not very energetic
@@player-vo8yb As much as I want to pretend that that's the case, I honestly just think the actors aged out of that energetic stage. Even the audio is more muffled. I think this show could have benefited from more effort in this regard.
Well done! this was sorely needed
I appreciate the work that goes into doing this. It looks great! I wish the creators would've employed some of this in the show, even just for a few key scenes like this one.
Jesse went from smoking weed to smoking cigarettes.
It’s very subtle but Saul looks like how he did in breaking bad
bro this is putamente épico. shit i gotta go to make me a paypal to finally see this scene complete. love how you deaged jesses voice, really a well done job
I'm 100% convinced that those commercials were filmed years ago when the show was in its height, but only came out after BCS ended just to squeeze out some more from the characters. idk
I wish I could watch the whole BCS edited like this
No doubt!
Yeah especially that cartel don, bolsa and mike as well
me too
This is so impressive. It will be interesting to see what fans are going to do with shows like Better Call Saul when that day happens.
i especially appreciate jessie being slightly pitched up here
I like that they didn’t even have to change Walter 😂
He’s stuck in his 2008 look since forever now lol😂😂
@ThatShitGood it’s both a blessing and a curse lol
I don’t think the original scene would be so bad if Aaron Paul didn’t sound like he had gravel in his mouth.
The original scene is perfect. Aaron is just a detail
I feel like after Breaking Bad Aaron can't speak like early Jesse anymore. Even in the Superbowl Ad he sounded very much like El Camino/ BCS Jesse
@@HoochJunenah he's just old now
Honestly it's not that hard to brush it off as Jesse's voice getting sore after yelling. Because in the scene before this, Jesse was literally yelling at Saul on top of his lungs.
He sounded way better in the scene with Kim.
You done fucked up A.A. Ron Paul!
You deserve all the patrons for this incredible work. Hopefully opportunity comes to you as it has for other deepfake creators
I like how they just left it and didn't bother messing around with it.
Often De-Aging looks uncanny.
I love the detail of making Jesse's voice higher in the de-aged version, really adds to the affect
i dont know why but this even makes saul's hair more accurate
0:59 Aaron talks the way Johnny depp talks
That nobody knows who Lalo is.... that's when you know you failed as a gangster.
When I saw this scene at first I legit couldn't tell if that was Aaron Paul or not for a good half a minute
Now can you make the cab driver the other actor!? 🤣
I don't get it
@@marigold2450-ip7cz in the cold open of season 5 for BCS, the cabbie we later learn is named Jeff was played by a different actor than he ends up being played as in season 6, I believe due to scheduling incompatibilities with the original actor.
This just shows how well Bryan Cranston has aged
Yeah this was very needed, Aaron Paul doesn't look anywhere near like he's 20 anymore
I didn’t even realise the audio was also de-aged for a bit. This is insanely cool.
Jesus Christ that RV is massive! You should have de-sized the RV to be waaaay more realistic.
i can’t express my gratitude towards gould and the production team for not using de-aging technology, they knew that bryan and aaron would be more than capable of encapsulating the mannerisms of their respective characters. plus, regardless of how much effort and how many resources are applied, it always looks vaguely artificial.
The slight pitch up to Jesse's voice is a great touch, really sells it.
The thing that bothered me the most in the actual scene was Jesse's voice. Aaron Paul sounded like he had went through second puberty.
They must have magical powers because that RV is huge when they go inside!
I think the problem with this scene is that it uses very warm and dark colors when in breaking bad the colors are cold and light
It cracks me up how shows with big budgets act like this is so difficult, yet one RUclipsr will take a week to do work that rivals Marvel's de-aging.
This is UNBELIEVABLE!!! And Jesse's voice... I didn't even realize that much of what felt "off" about him in this scene was his voice! And lol for real, Bryan has been about 55 for at least 3 decades.
3:28 It seems incredible to me how they made this scene and calculated where each character was from that time until now, it's incredible.
Amazing job! This looks so professional, much better than some of the other ones out there.
I didn’t realize the aged audio also some deepfake to de-age their face too. So when the original was compared I was like “wow, they matched the original breaking bad scene, beat for beat!” 😂
Vince needs to get you on his team, nice editing.
To be a little fair, I think Aaron Paul was 29, pushing 30 during BB, but 10 years is still along time.
@@KASC92 Yeah I know he was older playing younger, but he could still get away with it in the first season or two. But now? No way. And not just physically, his mannerisms and I think even his voice might've changed slightly (then again that could be the recording process changing across seasons).
yeah that scene in el camino in the diner didn't feel right, jesse was ok but i thought something was off about walt from the start
@@KASC92 Jesse Pinkman is 24 at the beginning of Breaking Bad, 26 by the end and in El Camino
@@HOTD108_ that, and there's no reason in this situation for him to act immature anyway
Also they were just about to kill and bury Saul.
That part!!! His voice was so deep I couldn’t understand him
@@DamianQualshy they werent gonna kill saul lol, it was just to scare him and make him cooperate, which is what happens
@@linguadegato_ even at this point, I would say Jesse was not sure what intentions Walter had for Saul.. But yeah, I forgot about the real reason they're there, thanks man.
now you need to do the AI voice replicator to fix Jesse's voice
I wish they would de-age Gus in Better Call Saul.
Wow dude, very impressive. After seeing this, I really hope you're working on the scene in the mall where Jeff finds Gene. Having just that one scene altered from Don Harvey to Pat Healy would be really cool to see.
It’s funny how much Saul looks younger here, the way his hair was in the original Breaking Bad made him look so old
It's so smooth to the point where it took me all the way to when the video was showed the side by side to remember that I was watching a deepfake video
If someone deaged the entire show I'd definitely rewatch it entirely
Jesse's so handsome even without de-aging ❤
Could you do the opposite effect on Kaylee in Breaking Bad
This is the moment Jesse Pinkman became Igor.
Crazy his acting was so good I didn’t even notice Jesse looks like a grandpa
I like how they didn't give a fuck about de-aging Walt since there's really no need lmao
Great work. I'd love to see the scene from "Point and Shoot" where Lalo forces Gus into the lab and Gus talks into camera. Gus's younger look from BB makes him look far more innocent. Lalo doing that to a young Gus would REALLY seem like Gus is screwed.
I really wish they would have used de-aging in the BB Flashback scenes. Arron Paul looked like a 40 year old talking to Kim in the rain.
1:23 " I had a fish" ahhh RIP season 3 fish. : (
Omg. Why didn’t they just do this. The episodes we got didnt impact me at all because the obvious aging was so jarring. I just couldn’t suspend my disbelief. This is fucking amazing.
did anyone else notice he make jesse's voice higher pitched
This scene is more sober compared to BB, just another day trying to make it for those 2
Mike: **tries not to leave any traces of DNA on a mission**
Saul: "Cool flask. My fish could use this for a vacation!"
2:31 young Jess
5:13 Older Jess
Pretty crazy how voices also change with age
This post needs bumping. Thanks for that!
Now, De-Age the new breaking bad super bowl commercial…
What controversy?
I'm I the only one who thinks Jesse doesn't act like Jesse here?. He seems more mature and calm, while in the previous scene which happens in Breaking Bad he is way more chaotic.
i feel like it was their appearance that was jarring, it was unfortunately aaron paul's performance. it feels like he kinda couldn't get into the character of the young jesse
They SERIOUSLY should have gone this way. I know Aaron Paul is not that old but he seemed like a 55 years old in the BCS scenes he was on
Wait, did you make Saul fatter? Thats insane
OH MY GOD THEY DID I JUST NOTICED
Good 😋
Bryan went from a guy you could smell the cigarettes from the tv to a handsome hairy man
I have a feeling there will be a very extensive fan edit of the entire series at some point to make age a little more consistent. Even if it’s not NEEEDED, that would still be pretty cool.
I do however appreciate the show’s faith in the fanbase to not be overly concerned about it. They could’ve easily made those tweaks themself, but felt that the performance is what really mattered.
honestly they could have at least pitched up aaron paul's voice in the show tbh
