When I was visiting relatives in England, we visited a large manor house. The family that owned it had one wing that they lived in privately and another wing that was furnished for visitors and it reflected how the people of the 1600’s lived. There was a tea house to go with it. It was really worth the money to visit it.
@@deniziz This sounds like Heale House, Middle Woodford, 4 miles north of Salisbury, Wiltshire. Tho I’m not sure about visitors staying, so I may be wrong. But they have a Japanese Tea House by the winding river diverted for their pleasure in the 1800s…(but it runs properly and ordinary once it leaves their property!) and Gardens to go around, and a Plant Shop and cafe. Charles 11 hid there for about 5 days after the Battle of Worcester when he had to then flee to France until called back in 1660 to be King. While staying at Heale, he rode over to see Stonehenge.

Over privileged and empty headed, the man hasn't accomplished a thing in his life. His son is incredibly obnoxious and obvious as well. He is featured in another show about this family. He was bragging about how he'd inherit $30Million pounds AND the house while his younger siblings would receive nothing. Unattractive, entitled and stupid is no way to go through life.
These people want someone to walk in, give them millions of pounds, fix their life, and hand the house back to them as a private home. They don’t want to work for anything. They are the most entitled people I have ever seen.
And my impression too. I wonder how the expert became involved? Did the TV company go and set it up? They seem the sort of people who'd tell their acquaintances that, 'Oh yes, we had some businessy sort of chap in but he was useless. He wanted us to do all sorts of bizarre, inappropriate things and tell us how to run our home. So, of course, we had to see the rascal orf!'
Where did their ancestors get money to build houses like this? I guess from the commonwealth countries. Looting Africa and India for their diamonds and gold. Now their children cannot afford to maintain the properties. Just like the UK as a country is going bankrupt because no more slaves money and taxes from colonized countries.
These people are their own worst enemies. They refuse to change in any way, and expect to be able to charge exorbitant amounts for the little effort they put in. This is entitlement at its best. So sad to see a beautiful historic building have to fail because of people like this.
Well, they fall too! Their own stupidity it’s they’re worst enemy. Can you imagine having an outsider to come and make you see the potential you are standing in to make it a grand place? Instead the resistance is obnoxious. She doesn’t want to do anything but she’s a cook and cleaning lady because she has no money?
Sad about the house, but I guess we see the disappearance of the titled class unless they actually produce something the world can benefit by. @Autos Nomos I think it was pretty obvious from - in particular, Kishandra's behaviour, that they did not deserve any help. They were resistant to every suggested improvement made by Simon, and the wife was downright hostile. Would you go out of your way to help them? I think not.

@Autos Nomos All very well, but if a person seeks out your help and then is downright hostile to you - without any apparent cause other than their own ill manners, there does come a logical point at which one should walk away. That is not 'judgmental' - it is simply reality.
@Autos Nomos No idea why you have now turned to 'commercial spirit' or lack of. I was talking about the extremely ill-mannered interactions with Simon on Kishandra's part. Simon was absolutely right to walk away. There is no helping 'stupid' - - and call me judgemental if you like, A.N., but to me, inviting someone to your home to give you advice, to then not only work against that advice and outright refuse even to discuss the suggestions, and to then move to hostility and finally to insult - then yes, undoubtedly Simon was right to walk away. No-one should tolerate that kind of behaviour, or tolerate being treated that way. And that is a judgment call that each of us is individually entitled to make. It is very much to Simon's credit, that he did just walk away.
@@rabiaadam’worked hard’? They had servants to maintain the property while paying them almost nothing. Several ancestors put the estate in enormous debt. These people are leeches. 3’000 acres could be subdivided for housing. Create villages. The house could be sold to someone who will care for it.
Something tells me that Kishanda is deliberately overpricing her rooms to avoid having strangers in her home. It probably doesn’t matter if the place is starting to fall apart at her hands and her husband's as the process will be complete at the hands of her offspring. You simply can't make enough money to maintain a property of that size sitting around drinking, eating and partying, which is about all the husband is capable of or prepared to do. The only thing that will save this house is a plan and a work ethic.
It should be considered a historic monument and restored to it's original state. A monumental task that only private investors or the government could undertake. Oh, and the family should be kicked out of there, pronto.
I reckon the husband does work (if that be managing farming or something else) but whatever it is it’s swallowed up by the cost of the building and life in general.

No, these people are literally ‘landed gentry’ who are rapidly and unavoidably going to the dogs. Perhaps one of their sons or daughters, the most committed, hard working and cleverest, not necessarily the eldest, might turn it around? These people are unbelievable. So entitled and unrealistic. That house looks pathetic. Mold on the outside and very shabby inside. Simon is very patient with them.
These people just ended up looking like spoiled snobs. Very sad when someone came and put their time and energy into helping them. You deserve an award for the calmest reaction to people who acted like they were way above everyone. They reminded me of 2 spoiled kids pretending they have so much while their house crumbles around them. It would seem that they would have to pay people to play the part of their friends as no one in their right mind would want the misery of hanging out with them. Usually I'm not so critical but treating someone trying to help them so awful really annoyed me. Loved that you told them you saw right through their games. I think they wanted a free house make over right from the start never planning on making a business. They had better start packing up their chipped cups and dusty paintings before it is auctioned off for back taxes.
Totally agree with you. You’ve saved me making the same observations. The wife is unbelievable! He’s bad enough. I wouldn’t have them as my friends. I’ve forgotten if children were mentioned. Who does it go to when HE dies? What you don't see are the ten tenant farmers who rise early and work hard everyday to keep these rich folks afloat. The rich folks, of course, have no gratitude for those who actually work.
In this case, it seems to be a combination of pride to the point of arrogance, incredible sense of entitlement (almost literally), and, quite frankly, a lack of intelligence and willingness to actually work (or to resent it when they have to engage in physical labor). They are living in a dream world, and reality is going to hit hard. Quite frankly, I don’t really have much sympathy for them. There are a lot more people out there who are in real need of help, and who would be far more grateful for the kind of help this man was offering.
I can remember being in undergrad, and I stayed with a family similar to this family. Though I was in France, they refused to realize the Manor or Home was falling down around them. The family was nearly bankrupt and the couple refused to get some form of employment. She kept saying she was from the family or out of the lineage of Bonaparte and she was getting some money. Now there was money for Champagne, Gin, and the best cuts of meat, yet the home needed so much work. IDK....I love this channel!

Linage does not automatically means it comes with brains as this couple have shown quite clearly. These people will end up with what they deserve and have worked so hard to achieve, NOTHING!!
Most of the episodes I watched the owners and their offspring put LOTS of effort into trying to make their mansions or castles help generate income to help pay the debts and restoration. They are usually elderly but still give it their all. Water damage and mold are usually what ruins their homes and the exorbitant prices of just the regular day to day upkeep...but they don't usually sit back and do nothing to help maintain their homes. It's often heartbreaking to watch them struggle and struggle they do. Keeping the tradition alive is very important. Shouldn't hate on them because they inherited something you could never afford. Just started this episode but this couple seem a bit different from the others. I'm sure the distress they feel of not being able to maintain their home causes a lot of friction between them.
My brother in law told me that people that inherit good amount of money don't compromise with their comfort and lifestyle. I can see it here in that couple.
So it’s obvious they weren’t really in dire straits with the house at the time and either wanted the publicity or the consultation. I had actually found them an amusing pair, until she treated Simon the way she did at the end and Francis smirkingly revealed to him they were in no hurry to do anything. Both of these self-centered people-users were made for each other.

It's hard to feel sympathy for this family. They made a name for themselves with these personas of arrogant fools, being filmed for "reality Tv" in 2004, 2012 (this show) and again in 2014. It sure looked to me like they were hamming for the camera, being dense, refusing to work if it's "not fun". One suspects they must have learned something, because they do have a website for their hotel/events venue but there is no telling how successful they are. Somewhere in there they got enough money to restore the Ballroom, so maybe being fools for the camera is a paying business model?
That's an interesting thought (that they're doing it all only on camera). I was wondering the same thing, i.e what happened to them and their house in almost 11 years, since the program aired in 2012. So I googled it too. Turns out they actually tidied it up and host private tours and events there now. The tours are guided by the owners (Francis or his wife). So they seem to be doing ...okay, I guess. Go figure!
I was initially very sorry for Simon who did his best to help and was spoken to so rudely by that vile woman, then realised anyone seeing this show would instantly not want to go there if thats whats she is like. Karma at its best.
They should do a reality show for pay, that's the way to cover renovations. Once renovated, they can be a b&b and have weddings; that could cover a lot. They talk shooting weekend, but 3000 acres could have golfing, farming, all sorts of options (show a diagram of the land to better decide.)
With their insipid behavior, and nonchalant attitude, I don't think they ever had any intentions of absorbing any of the advice that Simon tried to deliver to them, let alone implementing it. They're just not at a level of dire straits to be desperate enough to do anything about their situation. I think they just wanted another opportunity to be on television and show off their house. I'm sure they receive some sort of payment to appear on the show as well. I'm guessing that Francis is still lounging about the house half baked with a glass of scotch his hand reciting his boring dog stories thinking he's interesting.
The house is a testament to what happens when you let your ego and pride ruin you. It’s like begging for someone drowning to grab a life vest while they insult you 😂 but let’s be honest, there’s a reason the house got to this state. I hope the buyer lives up to it when goes to auction
I think she thought she was moving into a fairy tale but she married......... i think the family has married close in the past and how they’ve remained together all these years is a feat.
Wow I just came upon this show and it is absolutely fabulous. So very interesting. The truth about these old homes is very startling but obviously something that is hundreds of years old is going to be in need of repair constantly. I think that many of these homes have been lost because the owners could not afford the upkeep. It's really sad but it's so, so fascinating to see what really goes on!!
One thing I've noticed is that many of these owners whose families have had these stately houses for generations never even consider the thought of getting a job to pay for upkeep of their home. I guess it's 'beneath' them to work like a commoner, even if they are dirt poor or deep in debt.
They don't like being around people, and that's OK the world has introverts everywhere. Overpriced keeps customers away, and it's working out very well for them.
The most frustrating episode of the series ever! Fulfords became something like tv clowns during the past years. Francis is totally a buffon. Kishanda renovated some of the guest bedrooms beautifully but the rest of the place seems to be neglected... She looks quite depressed, angry with the situation and snob. She acts like a spoiled child and not like the lady of the manor. She is a good hostess only with her friends and not with guests. Rest of the family also doesn't care for the estate clearly. They only thing they care is keeping up the appearances by staying in a shabby stately home. They don't possess real taste, grace or manners despite their noble pedigree. That's why this place is so unloving. They want the so needed cash without compromise. Such a shame!
Why should Kishanda be outgoing, I am also only welcoming to friends and family. Everyone you see on the media is a foul show off, put normal people on film and of course they appear different.

I'm bewildered. Are these people for real? Or actors? This house was standing 400+ years BEFORE the first settlers left your country to come settle the colony that is now my country, America. 400 years! It is a privilege to be able to say that your family has held this property for so many years. Americans can only sigh and wish we had the rich history, traditions and lineages you have! It was so great to see Francis slam the door in Kishandas face, as Simon called her the “petulant child”. If ever there was a spot on description of a person. They act as if they are spoiled yet the state of that manor crumbling around them shows otherwise. It’s a shame that the house is in their hands. They definitely will not be leaving the house in better shape than they found it. 800 years. 800 years of sweat, toil and work by artisans through the years. 800 years is a testament to how great the ones who built it must have been. These people have done such a disservice to their family’s history. I think in the end the kids will either sell it off on their parents old age or after their death. I think this is the last generation of this family in this house, all because they are too arrogant and unwilling to change their thinking in any meaningful way. As for Simon. That man has far more patience than most. I would have walked out much sooner. But, I bet when Simon thinks back on Francis slamming the door in Kishandra’s face, I bet he does so with a smile on his face.
I've seen another video, a bit older with the whole family. The children are just as spoiled, especially the heir who was quite happy to eventually boot out the others, including his twin sister. She gets nothing because she's female. They won't want to, but they'll probably have to sell the house, or some land. I don't know what's paying for their posh colleges.

This is exactly what I want to say
And my impression too.

Like wash me but don't make me wet. They're awful.
Lazy and entitled! Beautiful place with so much potential.

Simon described Kishanda as a "petulant child." I'd say that was the understatement of the year. These people deserve everything that comes to them.
He has to be diplomatic and keep up the pretense. Some folks call it sophistication.

The only thing that will save this house is a plan and a work ethic.
which neither of them have.
@@reecemacaulay1690 He wouldn’t be capable of growing a gooseberry let alone run a farm. No, these people are literally ‘landed gentry’ who are rapidly and unavoidably going to the dogs. Perhaps one of their sons or daughters, the most committed, hard working and cleverest, not necessarily the eldest, might turn it around?
Nutters
What you don't see are the ten tenant farmers who rise early and work hard everyday to keep these rich folks afloat. The rich folks, of course, have no gratitude for those who actually work.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but are they not free to find other estates to farm on, if they are dissatisfied with their lease agreement?
In this case, it seems to be a combination of pride to the point of arrogance, incredible sense of entitlement (almost literally), and, quite frankly, a lack of intelligence and willingness to actually work (or to resent it when they have to engage in physical labor).
They are living in a dream world, and reality is going to hit hard. Quite frankly, I don’t really have much sympathy for them. There are a lot more people out there who are in real need of help, and who would be far more grateful for the kind of help this man was offering.

“ The pot is empty, because the pots been left on the roof !” 😂😂😂😂😂😂 These people are crazy !!!!
This was actually really funny. I absolutely loved it! lol
Me too.
@@orcharddweller1109 But are you opening your house up to others to raise money for said home?
@@orcharddweller1109 Because she said she wants to start a hospitality business to bring in extremely necessary money, that's why. You cannot be rude to customers ESPECIALLY in the hospitality business! Which she wanted to be in! It's called hospitality for a reason.
Francis is a member of UKIP
@@jasonhaven7170 l am not surprised...
Watched this on TV a while back, quite rude pompous people.
...and boring. His stupid "dog on the table" story fell flat.
These houses are from a bygone age and the responsibilities of retaining family heritage are challenging. Modern day property developers are buying these for pennies on the pound and selling English heritage off to foreign investors bit by bit.
Amazing episode of Inbread Fop Wars!
HOWEVER....all that said.....I'm just shaking my head in dismay listening to these two very bizarre people. Is it really possible for them to be so dimwitted? I would love to see an update on what happens to the house. What a shame to see so much beauty just moldering away.....
very well said, my friend!
You do have history, traditions in your country. Go and find out!! America have plenty of grand houses, I can name 10 of the top of my head and I'm British.
It is wonderful to find a house like this still with its family living there, if you want to see country houses in tiptop repair you can only find them in corporate hands generally.
I was wondering the same thing, i.e what happened to them and their house in almost 11 years, since the program aired in 2012. So I googled it. Turns out they actually tidied it up and host private tours and events there now. The tours are guided by the owners in the video (Francis or his wife). So they seem to be doing ...okay, I guess. Go figure!
@meshkovsergey I'm so glad it's serving a purpose now and not justmouldering away!
These people would have to pay me to stay in that crumbling house!
Bet it smells mouldy too.
The bratty son will probably flog it when he inherits and set himself up 9n a hotel room.
Motel
I love this show please make more of them. Hi ya'll from Texas USA 🇺🇸
"We seem to be singing from the same hymn sheet". No, you're charging 150% for the hellhole peeling 1950s wallpaper, freezing cold, thread bare furniture, peeling paint version.
I hate all his little euphemisms
My goodness. These owners are horrible. The show’s host is very professional and patient. The owners deserve their own failure.
Absolutely
Appears after all they did listen. Some nice reviews on their website of ghost tours and cream teas etc. The photos in the gallery of the property and grounds look beautiful too.
Looking at their website, there’s still windows with broken panes. I’m surprised they are still living in the house. Delusional people.
and the grand stairway wall paper is still hanging off the walls......not a good look!
Beautiful photo shots 😊 really enjoyed the video 😊 love the 3 characters 😊
Thanks, enjoyed watching this.. even though it was through my fingers at some point 🙂
