if you have a cleric of The tempest in your group and using the channel divinity and you have tramsmuted spell metamagic then you can make up pretty mean spell combo
I was thinking "how would someone reach level 18 in a friggin *mirror sorcerer* without grabbing Mirror Image? it should give you the option of choosing another spell" then realized that sorcerers can change their known spells every level up
If you were to be revivified and had the necessary spell slot open, would you be able to learn revivify using the mirror magic feature right after you came back to life?
1:20 Well, you mostly cannot choose to fail saving throws anyway. Effects that let you fail all say that explicitly. Of course, the DM could leave some handwave, specially for Strength and Dexterity saving throws. You could, for example, say that you simply don't move, or don't push back against an effect, and you could point to the precedent of automatically failing these saves while paralyzed or unconscious. For other saves, not so much.
Wow, this is really interesting, especially with a creative DM and fellow players. Wonder if the target you're mimicking has to be alive, and as for mimicking actions does that include legendary actions and lair actions?
Great video guys! I have a thought for you. I would really love if you worked into your videos whether you thought the subclass was balanced or not. It's really easy to make a subclass that would hit all 5's... but would that be a fair subclass. Know what I mean? I'd love y'all's insight on that when you do homebrew stuff. :)
Most of the stuff we review we consider pretty balanced. If somethings scores high, we will usually comment our concerns about potential balance issues, and if something is weak we try to say that the numbers are off or some thing doesn’t feel quite right about it if that makes sense. For the most part, we mostly review stuff that has been pretty thoroughly tested. Thanks for watching!
Is there anyway to get Valda's anymore with the kickstarter campaign ended? I checked Mage Press's website and sadly didn't see it there for purchase, even as a pdf. I've been watching and loving y'alls coverage of these subclasses and wanted to get the full book and dive into it!
So with Dimension 20 going through it’s new space odyssey campaign, could you guys do a video on Star Wars 5E classes and subclasses? I’m kind of curious what you think of them.
No other casters solution: If you are the only caster in your party and you have no other way of getting access to more spells, you can target yourself with your own spells and learn them with your mirror magic. Then next level you can retrain one of those spells into something else, since you now know it via your mirror magic. This leaves you always a little behind what other mirror sorcerers would know, but still ahead in the amount of spells that you have over all but the Tasha’s sorcerers.
Do you know if the Copycat feature includes bonus actions that have been performed? I mean, they are more or less a kind of action, aren't they? if that's the case, the Mirrorkin would perform them as normal actions anyway
How to avoid the metagaming of "how does my sorcerer knows what lvl this spell is?" At the exemple of a lvl 4 spell. How could he just know he can copy that? Any roleplay ideas?
I would make the argument that being a spellcaster, you have some familiarity with magic. I would ask the DM if I could make an arcana check to determine if I’m able to ascertain the nature or power of a spell for example. Thanks for watching!
I always imagined spell levels being like dragon shouts, they are just more complicated the higher the level. So a basic fireball = ball of fire. 9th level fireball = flaming sphere of inferno I summon thee to scorch the earth
This is one of the most powerful classes I have seen, definitely most powerful sorcerer one. Trait mimic is ridicules. The spell options are good too almost strictly better than a divine soul. Is this official?
Ehhhh. The spell learning is great, BUT, the fact it’s an action to forget one instead of just overwriting means either you constantly run with open slots (suboptimal) or you have to engineer scenarios to learn things. I also know some people hate Simulacrum, but it seems like a more obvious choice for 17th. Another weak capstone.
Copycat: another reason to start combat by tagging the dragon with Nystul’s Magic Aura to read as a humanoid. They should have added a line about using Shadowmagic to replace physical components. Like, your fighter buddy attacks 3 times. So you replicate his 3 attacks... do you need a weapon? Does it duplicate the rolls? Like duplicating a rogue’s crit? Can you duplicate the rogue’s sneak attack? Copycat does read super fun, but it needs A LOT of rulings and some stock options should be discussed before you use it (in 25% of games bc most never get that high).

Cleric: I use Divine Intervention to talk with my god.
Sorcerer: Yeah, me too.
Even better if the sorcerer succeeds while the cleric fails

Idea: borrow find familiar from a wizard, summon a bird, mirror its flight.
Wonder if it would pair well with the echo
knight when it comes to opportunities for roleplay
"you and what army"
- the bad guy about to find out what army
I honestly love every subclass so far in this book, it's crazy how talented some folks are at making content for the game
This subclass sounds like it would be hell to recreate in D&D Beyond
Just found this channel, absolutely love the fact ya'll review homebrew content that rival official content in quality! Keep up the great work fellas
Sorcerers awakened their sharingan 😂.
God I want to play with this.
Hehe Nice
This subclass just sounds SOOOOOO fun to play!!!
If you were to be revivified and had the necessary spell slot open, would you be able to learn revivify using the mirror magic feature right after you came back to life?
Happy Hands! Always love to hear from you.
Dude I was just talking about playing Kakashi. This plus a little bit of rogue would be a decent way to play the copycat ninja.
Just love the idea of mirrors and this theme got me right at the start.
Why is this not an official subclass? I would play this in a heartbeat.
You can always ask your DM! Thanks for watching!
Most people would for practical reasons better then almost every other option.
Because it’s just a buffed version of the greater-doppelgänger aka mirrorkin monster
This is now my favorite subclass in the game. Absolutely love this one.
Also, what are you guy's thoughts on WotC buying D&D Beyond?
I think it can only be better for the platform! We’ll probably see a lot more funding and improvements made soon. Thanks for watching!
Love your subclass reviews
So thankful for this channel! Keep it up y’all

God I love this book!
Keep em coming!!
One of my favorite sorcerer spells is scorching ray because it scales well, and stacks very well with various abilities.
sounds like the FF blue mage, nice
Great video :D Is it possible to get a review of the Mechanaut subclass for the Craftsman too? 👌
Possibly! We will try to look into it! Thanks!
@@URGE Keep up the great content 😊✌️
Where can I buy that book 📖
This sounds super fun!
Love this channel, i tried tragedy bard thanks to you guys

ooh super interesting sub class for sure
I just imagine before a long rest the wizard and cleric are just blasting the sorcerer so they can learn spells 🤣
How would this subclass work with spell scrolls could you learn a spell from a scroll if it targets you?
Could they be able to mirror a Beholder's Anti-Magic cone?

The trait stealing/borrowing could be interesting with a summoned Familiar, change out familiars to steal different traits
What's that orange and blue figure between the white dragon and purple bull?
That Aeorian Absorber

Seems pretty good
Just multiclassed into this. RP'ing this as a fractured mind PC, cliche as hell but im having fun with it already.
Duplicate the assassin rogues critical sneak attack is a very good use.
kenku mirrorkin comin right up

I will choose toon magic too
Have we unlocked a Meliodas Counter?
Cool stuff
Has anyone else been unable to find the spire of secrets on their site?
What I don’t get is why they can use cleric and paladin spells when mirrorkin specifically can’t
So you can just continually cast simulacrum by watching your mirror image use it.
Dance Party!!!
Gogo from final fantasy 6.

You get extra spell slots for your stolen spells.

Good grief...it's one of those classes I see and just go, "Nope! I'm not clever enough to do this right..." XD
Hear me out.. Mirrorkin kenku…
cool
👍🏻
It's scary to give player so much power! Cool, but scary
Please tag third party content somehow on the titles.
My understanding is Valda's Spire of Secrets is not see as legit by WOTC...
It is an unofficial book so it is not recognized by WOTC
Nice concept but... Meeh
Steal legendary resistance.
