@@4GRJDefinitely underrated, and the addition of star steal traps makes the size and simplicity of this board surprisingly complex and deadly to navigate. Especially when playing with a higher number of rounds, and chance time being potentially only a few rolls away from any point on the board, makes the last few turns chaotic
Rainbow Galleria is my favorite board. There are many nuances that can turn the tide for you. Heck there is even a "last place shop" and you can combine it with a flash sale and a jamboree buddy. That combo GOES CRAZY!!!
I love the mall board, best in the game imo and a top 3 in the series. However, I actually think the last place shop is the weakest part of the map. Like a shop that can help you turn things around is great in theory but the execution is not there. The fact that you have to land on it, and that it is placed right before the special item shop and the boo and 2 star locations just gives it too much of an opportunity cost. If they gave it better items, or at least made the items always be half price or even free during the firesale turns then it would be more worth it imo. Right now it feels like the only time it's useful is if I land on it by chance when I have a ton of money and no movement items. That way I can buy a custom dice and guarantee a boo/super dueling glove the next turn. Edit: the combo that actually goes crazy is getting up there on the firesale turn with a custom dice while the star is there (even better if you have a buddy). For like 55-65 coins you can get 3-5 stars in like 1-2 turns it's actually insane. Made me go from 3rd place with 2 stars to 1st place with 7 stars when I only got up there with 3 turns left to go.
My list: 7. Roll 'em Raceway 6. Mario's Rainbow Castle 5. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party 4. Western Land 3. Goomba Lagoon 2. King Bowser's Keep 1. Rainbow Galleria
Ngl, this game has been A BLAST. My only complain with the game is the minigames. Yes, it is the installment that comes with the most minigames, but since there are so many modes, the minigames are VERY spread out and every time I play the main mode, Mario Party Mode, I feel like I play the same minigames over and over again (and honestly, the minigames in this installment I feel like they are missing something, they don't have the same charm, even the ones from the first Super Mario Party seemed better to me). It is certainly a downer coming from Superstars that the old school minigames are amazing, at least for me who grew up with the 64 era. It amuses me that what Superstars lacked (Boards) Jamboree has, and Jamboree, which lacks mini-games, has really good boards.
I agree Also another small complaint for me is how being rich in coins doesn’t reward a star and its a bit hard to make a comeback i feel Haven’t played a ton yet so i might be wrong
I think the charm was that variety on themes and settings, there's a lot of minigames that happen in an empty space or lack a special theming. Previous games had minigames set in factories, alleyways, cities, the sun, a mario statue of liberty holding an ice cream. Even super had a minigame inside a train, and that one where volcanoes are shaped like corn
This game is so good! I can play it all day in my perfect life. My only problem is how long the game is regardless of what board you play on and I'm always going to go with 20 turns because 15 would just feel too short. All of the boards are outstanding besides Roll em' Raceway. Rainbow Galleria definitely deserves S++ tier.
1:36 I really disagree with that. The turbo dice inherently was built for that board. And I love it because of that design aspect. Yes you could get a triple dice, but you won’t really go as far. The board events don’t really matter too much in this sense because by design, you’re most likely use turbo dice at the start of the course in order to get the star, or after you got the star in order to get to the front to get items and coins. Not to mention the more laps that you take, the more coins you get. So it’s beneficial to get as many laps around the track as possible in order to get more coins. This map incentivize players to always go fast to get more coins, stars, and items so that way, the triple dice, adds more value.
The issue with Laps is it only adds when you actually meet the Koopa Troopa and won't count if you either pass through it with the Turbo Dice or if you went on the Pit Stop route (which then makes you go around again). I think what they should've done is end the fork of the road to the Lap Koopa Troopa so that you'd guarantee to end there when going either path, but seeing that the Lap route has nothing, I think they did split the Pit Stop and Laps by design. If that's the case, they IMO should've counted passing the Pit Stop route as a lap even if you didn't get the Lap Bonus. Rollem Raceway could've been very interesting and I'm actually happy it's linear to fit the theme but frankly needs more interesting events than just "skip Boo/Item Shop" pads IMO.
@@zjzr08 that is true, but that’s where the risk comes in the item! The item is a gamble for going the distance, but skipping all the rewards. But if you use it optimally, you can get a lot of value out of the movement even if you do skip pass board events. And honestly, if you have enough coins, all you would wanna do is get to a star first before your opponent can, so the dice is a huge gamble of an item with huge implications, if you’re able to utilize it in the best way
Mario’s Rainbow Castle was a nightmare for me because one CPU (ironically Toad) had it OUT for me lol. Every time I reached the top, he would switch it to Bowser. Even in random ways like landing on the switch button with no intent, but also in very intentional ways like buying the item for switching. Man. Maybe I need to try it again, but it was by far my worst experience because it felt like I couldn’t avoid it. There’s only one shop, so you can easily get in a powerless position.
One neat detail about the Golden Goombas on Goomba Lagoon is that everyone on Team Mario (Mario-Birdo) jump on the Golden Goombas to get their coins, whilst everyone on Team Bowser (Bowser-Ninja) will just have the coins given to them as they simply walk past the Golden Goombas
Of the 4 I’ve played so far: 4th Goomba Lagoon. Spending half the game wasting turns going in circles is a drag. 3rd Rollin Raceway. Way better than I expected. 2nd Rainbow Galleria. Fun to navigate and lots of stuff to do. 1st Western Land. Still goated
WHAT. Race track last??? Bro that is easy s tier!! It’s so fun and so thematic. Racing as fast as you can to gain bonus gold, 4 dice rolls that make you miss the star if you over shoot it, so it’s a huge gamble. Track is predictable so way less randomness. Going to the shop, you can get mushroom tickets for a consistent movement each round, or can go for triple dice for a more bursty movement but will have more small moves. Picking which track to take for the star depending on where everyone is. Because the star always bounces between inside and outside, everyone has to make a choice on if they think the star will swap to them, and if all 4 people get to the lane change at the same time, it becomes complete mayhem. Sometimes all 4 people get a star, sometimes only one gets a star, sometimes it’s 2 and 2 and it’s complete mayhem depending on what people do. Sometimes no one gets a star because someone takes the track without the star because the person in front of them will buy it, but then they hit the exclamation mark and get driven off the track so then no one gets the star. It’s freaking awesome man. Give it some more plays because I think you really missed out why it’s so good. Incredibly good map!!!!
For me 7th King Bowser's keep 6th Mario's rainbow castle 5th Roll em Raceway 4th Mega wigglers tree party 3rd Western Land 2nd Goomba Lagoon 1 Rainbow Galleria
My parents and I hosted two gaming evenings because of the new Mario Party game, we tested 6 boards (except the Bowser map) 1. Rainbow Galleria (this is honestly in the top 5 best Mario Party boards of all time) 2. Western Land (I‘m not to fond of the remake maps, but this one was really cute and fun) 3. Wiggler‘s Tree Party (very cute and easy layout for beginners, very fun too) 4. Goomba Lagoon (the changes every two rounds makes this board a lot more tricky) 5. Rainbow Castle (cute map but the layout itself is a bit boring for me) 6. Raceway (sadly the worst one, it‘s so generic and plain, I expected a lot more for this one)
@Future011 Exceptions to their norm. Shoulda had a new MK by now. Don't get it twisted I'm glad they added to it but it took years. Dlc is still a pretty ignored thing for Nintendo. They're always a decade behind. I got a real love/hate thing with Nintendo.
Havent watched the video yet but wanted to share my Top 7: 7. Roll 'em Raceway - The board is basically just a loop without many options to go around on. The star only switches between two places and the board specific Item feels more like a disadvantage most of the time as you just cant interact with boo, buy something from the shop or let alone the star itself, it just feels dumb to pass by these events. The split path with the starting line also feels unneccessary to use when you can go up top and just get 3 really good dice items for the price of just 10 coins... 6. Mario's Rainbow Castle - The fact that there's just one single star space was always not appealing to me in any game, be it Mario Party 8's Goomba's Booty Boardwalk or others, just having one star at the end of a pretty linear path is just not a good decision in map design in my opinion. The fact that the star isnt even there half of the time and you just lose 20 Coins when its turned to Bowser's side doesnt enhance the experience, plus the fact that the tower rotate item only has a chance to switch the tower and isnt guaranteed... 5. Goomba Lagoon - I'm just gonna be honest, the tide system and how easy it is to just get a tide shell and change the tide is really annoying. This board is just heavily focused of warp item usage and the tide shell, if you dont have any of those and are stuck on an island you're basically done for if you oponents have tide shells to change the tide before its even your turn. Other than that, I do really like the volcano event and how the board feels in any other aspect... 4. King Bowser's Keep - Never ever play a 30 round match of this board... I did and got stuck in bowser space hell in the middle loop around imposter Bowser for over 10 hours to the point I lost all my stars, was in last place and someone else snatched my entire 8 star earnings by guessing the passcode on the safe... Played a 20 round game the day later and had a much better time on this map. I really like how you can get back to the start from 3 spots on the map and dont have to do some kind of loop that would just be extra unnecessary distance and the fact that everything Bowser steals from the Players gets transported into the safe that you can open when you're really lucky... 3. Western Land - You can never go wrong with a classic board. My only real complaint is how cheap the train rides are and how many spaces of the map are on the train tracks so you'll get run over almost every 5 turns. The keys also feel useful here unlike on most boards of Mario Party Superstars. Nothing else to say about this one... 2. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party - For a beginner map, this map is awesome! The gimmick with Wiggler being walkable and that he can change positions is a small but very effective thing, it can save a lot of space to use him to cross some sections, especially when the top right of the map is plastered with star trap spots in the later rounds. Just an incredibly well crafted map for my liking... 1. Rainbow Galleria - It's just the best board, what else do I have to say. This map is the peak of Mario Party Boards, there was never a better board in any Mario Party in my opinion. The many different path ways, the many gimmicks and events, the different shops; it just fits perfectly and is so much fun. The strategic plays you can use on this map are basically endless, on one round you could take turns at the start of the map just getting an item from the 1-coin shop over and over again to be able to get more balls at the lottery for a golden pipe later... First I thought the coin economy in this map would be way too over the top but with the 200% sticker that just balances out and cause everyone mostly has a lot of money everyone will just be speeding around the mall, getting star after star which leads to incredibly high risk, high reward chance time plays later on etc... I could talk about this map for hours as its just so good, definetly 100%ly my favourite of the bunch! :3
Honestly Goomba Lagoon’s tide system isn’t that broken, and I do like this board better than I thought I would, but the pacing of the game makes it feel like you are stranded for way too long
Super Mario Party Jamboree is the most hyped I’ve ever been for a Mario Party. 7 boards, the second-most out of any game and all of them are peak (unlike 1). Also Mario’s Rainbow Castle and Western Land are back!
Here is how I rank all of the Boards from Best to Worst in my Opinion: 1. Rainbow Galleria 2. King Bowser’s Keep 3. Western Land 4. Goomba Lagoon 5. Mario’s Rainbow Castle 6. Roll ‘em Raceway 7. Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party
I haven’t played all the boards yet, but I will rank the ones that I have done: 6. Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party 5. Goomba Lagoon 4. Mario’s Rainbow Castle 3. Western Land 2. Rainbow Galleria 1. Roll’ em Raceway Everything is subject to change once I do King Bowser’s Keep
In terms of pure strategy, the aspect I most care about, I think King Bowsers Keep is tied as the best board in the entire franchise, along with Bowser land and Clockwork castle (since all have such different mechanics it comes down to personal preference). Like you, I had no expectations but was slightly curious, and ohhhh man am I glad they kept this board vague! The Bowser byway is such an amazing mechanic, with soooo much varied strategy to escape and screw up opponents! The vault and Bowser space pairing is genius, since it's more likely the vault be opened and added to as the game progresses. The Mechakoopa miniboss type events are a fantastic way to keep the economy varied and along with the cog event makes the board able to give as much as it can take. EVERY item is viable, as mushrooms and double dice help escape the byway, the byway lever does the opposite, creepy dice can be used to make opponents land on the red pipe back to the byway, custom dice to escape or switch the direction of the byway, keys to access both boos and chance time, traps to place at start for a likely payday with the pipe loop, pipes, warp mirrors and shop hops to escape the byway or screw over opponents and dueling gloves to battle for the few coins that remain. Coupled with a layout that accommodates flexible play, an amazing theme and excellent soundtrack and it becomes my favourite board ever made.
This is a minor thing but I absolutely adore that the game calls the train steamer his acual name, because in superstars woody was called "the nice tree" I also think it's better to nerf the rail part in western land making it more riskier just because in the original Boo was easily accesible and most stars are in the rails
I have only played three boards so far, but this is a really fun set of boards so far. Western Land is my favorite of the three if only for nostalgia bias. The music, the aesthetic, and the added strategy around Steamer make it feel like a more fleshed out gimmick. Yeah, the train going extra spaces or the item can kinda be too chaotic, but I’m all for the chaos here. I like Roll Em Raceway and Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party a lot, too, though. Roll Em Raceway’s got a fun racing theme that fits for how it’s designed with you wanting to go as fast around the board as much as you can. And Mega Wiggler is just such a charming starter board that I really appreciate it. If for no other reason than the aesthetic of everything, with everyone making desserts in the background, and the adorable Wiggler in the middle. This is genuinely one of the best Mario Party games. Definitely has some notable flaws (the pace doesn’t bother me, but I can see the issue with it) and the mini game selection when taking out the motion control mini games could be a bit greater, but the side modes do make up for that to a degree. I really enjoy the Koopathlon mini games, even if I prefer how Coinathlon was structured more.
1:50 Yeah. I totally agree with you here. I definitely think the Turbo Dice would be better if Double dice, Triple dice, and Golden Pipes WEREN'T available on the map. To *REALLY* emphasize that movement aspect. Plus, it would add more weight to the risk vs. reward aspect of the dice themselves. Do you skimp out and just roll the single dice block? Or do you buy the Turbo Dice and get the movement you need to get to the star first; *AT THE COST* of either rolling too low and wasting your money *or* rolling too high and miss the star event completely. Effectively putting you in a worse position than you were before.
And whoever has the MOST stars after the game ends when someone Either makes the amount of laps needed to finish Roll em raceway, or reaches the finish line first, the person with the most stars will win though it can also depend on if the bonus stars are turned on and if the person with the most stars has enough that they either win the bonus stars, or they are too far ahead by many coins that the bonus stars won’t save any of the other 3 even if they get all of the bonus star boosts.
My list: #7 Goomba Lagoon #6 Western Land #5 Roll Em' Raceway #4 Mario's Rainbow Castle #3 King Bowser's Keep #2 Mega Wiggler's Tree Party #1 Rainbow Galleria
The only one that I love about Roll ‘em Raceway is how the music is played it has such a happy upbeat vibe to it reminds me of any other Mario Kart OST. Also I admire Mario’s Rainbow Castle, its one of my favorite boards from the first game brings me joy and so many nostalgia from it as well with Western Land love the music I from MP3 I played that board for hours on my own 😅😊
Here is how I would rank each board: 1. Mario’s Rainbow Castle 🏰☁️🌈 2. Goomba Lagoon 🌋🏝️ 3. King Bowser’s Keep 🔥⚙️ 4. Roll ‘em Raceway 🏎️🏁 5. Rainbow Galleria 🛍️🌈 6. Western Land 🏜️🚂🌵 7. Mega Wiggler’s Treetop Party 🐛🌲🔔 I think all of these boards are great! They’re way better than the boards from Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars. I would say that I have the most fun playing the boards that I’ve listed top 4. I ranked Mega Wiggler’s Treetop Party so low because it just seemed very boring to me. It’s definitely not as fun as the others. I probably won’t play on that one as much.
Amazing video and Review. Here are rankings best-to-worst: *1st: Rainbow Galleria:* It comes to no surprise that this board is iconic. I thought the whole “flash sale” was going to make getting stars too easy, but there are plenty of little side quests you could do to pass the time. You could go try to win big at the raffle, you could try to get all 4 stamps for the stamp receptionist and get 50 coins, it just all ties together perfectly. There’s no other way to say this board not only does a great job at keeping your eyes on the prize, but it also makes your brain think of so many interesting ideas to maximize efficiency by traveling all around the mall. It’s mere perfection. *[S Tier]* *2nd: Western Land:* I don’t care what anybody says, nothing will ever top the godly theme and gimmick of this board. The idea of parts of the board being on tracks in which you could get hit by is such a great and creative idea. Nothing will ever top this board in this game, *except one…* *[A Tier]* *3rd: King Bowser’s Keep:* Unlike what you’d expect from looking at this board, this is probably one of the best bowser themed Mario stages I’ve seen in a while. The conveyor belt gimmick is very well made, and is finally the amount of punishment I’ve wanted to see in a Mario Party game for along time, and easy A. *[A Tier]* *4th: Goomba Lagoon:* At first I wanted to rank this higher, but upon further inspection and more replays, I just found the whole tide gimmick pretty irritating. The worst part is that you have to land on the zip lines to use them. This is completely unnecessary and took so much potential strategic gameplay. Just like Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party, the whole gimmick of the board feels like it occurs every 3 minutes. Luckily, the rest of the board plays very well. The whole pirate theme is amazing, the boos and chests are a good addition, and I would go as far as saying the golden goomba volcano doesn’t make players TOO rich. Overall, a decent board. *[B Tier]* *5th: Mario’s Rainbow Castle:* I thought this was a good board in Mario Party 1, and it’s not that it’s bad here, but it just doesn’t feel natural playing this board with items and lucky spaces, etc. This board was very simple and minimalistic, and I have no problem admitting that it really should’ve stuck that way in the remake. Maybe it’s just nostalgia, but I’ve never felt the same about this board with all the new or recent mechanics embedded into it. *[C Tier]* *6th: Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party:* This one was probably the board I was most disappointed by, mainly because I thought it was a great idea for an introductory board. The whole moving Mega Wiggler sounded like a good way to shake up the game, but because the Bell is only 5 coins, and there are literally spaces that change Wiggler’s movement anyways, it happens way too frequently and I think this is the only board to not really have any charm to it that would make me have motivation to play it again. This is really the only board I find the “game-changing event” happens way to frequently for my liking. It’s not bad, but I sadly don’t find it too good either. *[C Tier]* *7th: Roll ‘em Raceway:* The whole theme of the board sounds like it would be the sickest thing you ever saw in Mario Party, but unfortunately, it’s the exact opposite. Because there only two split paths and the board is mostly linear, I just don’t ever find myself thinking, “Wow! This board is really fun!”. Not to mention the Turbo Dice is almost all I remember from this board. It’s really sad to admit the fact that maybe Mario Kart and Mario Party don’t need a collaboration because sometimes, too much of a good thing could become, *bad.* *[D Tier]*
i don't understand Roll'em Raceway, i wonder how a straight line with only 1 shop that takes forever to get to, and the only movement options are luck based event spaces, are supposed to work out? It reminds me of the space rocket map from Island Tour which just relied on luck, Mario Party in this style needs diverging paths, There is the Turbo Dice, but it skips everything which is a bad way to balance it because again it relies on getting lucky on a space
Here is how I rank all of the Boards from Best to Worst in my Opinion: 1. Rainbow Galleria 2. King Bowser’s Keep 3. Western Land 4. Goomba Lagoon 5. Mario’s Rainbow Castle 6. Roll ‘em Raceway 7. Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party
@@luigigreen_ I liked Rollin Raceway a lot more than I expected. It all just revolves around strategically timing your dice items, a simple concept I found really satisfying.
I haven’t enjoyed this game as much as a lot of people. I think Superstars was much better. This game is more about luck than skill and strategy. The random star placements places the star right in front of the player who just got one. The maps make it very hard to come back and win and the Bowser map and Goomba Lagoon maps can get you stuck going back and forth or around in a circle for multiple turns which puts the other players far ahead. Gameplay is slow and makes it quite a tedious boring game if playing more than 10 turns. We played each map 3 times this weekend and I never really felt is was fun. Everybody would get distracted by their phone or get up and go do something cause it takes too long for every body to take a turn.
the random star placements are always been like this (and in most of the games they aren't random, they are set it's just you are never gonna known that if you don't want to datamine or Watch zoomzike) and in the bowser board you can buy double dices, mushrooms or get the item that switches the direction on the circle.
All of these boards are really good so it's kinda hard to rank them but my list is probably 7: Mario's Rainbow Castle 6: Mega Wiggler's Tree Party 5: Roll em Raceway 4: Western Land 3: Goomba Lagoon 2: King Bowser's Keep (As of writing this I have unlocked this board but haven't actually played it yet, I'm thinking it'll go here though) 1: Rainbow Galleria
Wait, so there is an event on the bowser board that makes it more dangerous after every five turns? Is this a reference to Mario Party 7's Bowser Time and its Bowser board? Along with that, the mall conversely has an event that makes the board more chaotic every 5 turns, with the flash sale! This dynamic change of the board every few turns along with the new trap items remind me so much of 6 and 7, which are legit some of the best games of the series, giving me the impression that the devs knew that those games were some of the best and that their ideas should be represented here! I still wish they fleshed both of these out, ie more types of trap items and more all boards with a change ever few turns, but this is obviously not a deal breaker and still so cool as a huge fan of those games!
Great ranking, curious to see if I'd rank these boards the same or slightly differently after playing on them myself (I'm currently playing through the Story Mode), but based on everything I've seen and heard of them I overall agree with your reasoning!
My ranking would be 7. Roll em' Raceway (D) 6. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party (A) 5. King Bowser's Keep (A) 4. Goomba Lagoon (A) 3. Western Land (A) 2. Mario's Rainbow Castle (S) 1. Rainbow Galleria (S++)
I still haven't played King Bowser's Keep, so I skipped that one to avoid spoilers but other than that I agree with a lot of stuff! Great video! My ranking: 1. Goomba Lagoon 2. Rainbow Galleria 3. Western Land 4. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party 5. Mario's Rainbow Castle 6. Roll Em Raceway
I feel Roll-em Raceway would have been better if instead of a limited number of turns it doesn't end until someone makes the required number of laps, or if they reach the finish line first like in Mario party 9 and 10 but without having the others travel with them but instead they travel on their own and the dice block only affects their own movement and not their opponents.
For my opinion it goes 1. Goomba lagoon 2. Wiggler’s tree party (diddy’s tree party) 3. Western land 4. The mall map 5. bowsers keep 6. Raceway (Mario kart map) and last is Mario’s rainbow map
Here are my rankings so far: 1. Western Land (fantastic) 2. Rainbow Galleria (generally great) 3. Roll Em Raceway (plain good) 4. Mario’s Rainbow Castle (better than the original) 5. Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party (decent) Haven’t played the other two yet so that’s why they’re not on the list.
Great video can't wait for the rest! Unfortunately, I don't have a ranking right now because I only have played a little of Mega Wiggler's Tree Party because I waiting to unlock Mario's Rainbow Castle first but good video either way.
Only flaw is they never said you can play with only one person per switch to play with 8 players. It could've just been 4 players per switch or 2 at least
If I had a nickel for every first Mario Party board that was themed after Wigglers and Piranha Plants in a forest with one of them being extra large I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice right
They ruined hootenanny for me. I liked gettin drunk on milk. Well in the ig it felt like you got drunk, theyd spin around like they drank too much. I cant believe you put the wiggler map over western land though
My ranking with brief explanations goes: ???. King Bowser's Keep (Haven't unlocked this one yet unfortunately) 6. Roll-em Raceway (basically what she said in the video; a bit too linear for my taste) 5. Mario's Rainbow Castle (also too linear and the Bowser gimmick feels punishing, but I can appreciate the strategy that comes with it) 4. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party (feels very bland compared to Whomp's Domino Ruins and the Wiggler gimmick feels kinda inconsequential) 3. Western Land (Really great map with a good means of exploration, but the back half of the map feels a bit barren) 2. Rainbow Galleria (Best map gameplay-wise but the aesthetic falls a bit short for me. It's really just a matter of personal preference in that regard; I tend to like more natural-looking maps) 1. Goomba Lagoon (Everything Albert said about this in the video is true. I LOVE the aesthetic and it has the second-best gameplay so it averages higher than Coconut Mall 2: Electric Boogaloo)
I mean there are no bad maps BUT goomba lagoon is just evil for me. I have played the map thrice and damn i started counting my rolls, in 30 turns i have rolled 2 times over 5. And for one of those i rolled a double 10 while trapped on a tiny island in the middle.
very nice. yup everyones favorite is Rainbow Galleria. i knew it was gonna be my favorite and everyones. its the best board in the game. here is my list 7 Roll 'em Raceway 6 Mario's Rainbow Castle 5 King Bowser's Keep 4 Goomba Lagoon 3 Mega Wiggler's Tree Party 2 Western Land 1 Rainbow Galleria i like all the borad maps there all fun. its been a while since we had 6 borad maps. like mario game game that had 7 borad maps was mario party 9. the orthers only had 5. super mario party had only 4 board maps and super stars had 5 board maps. and i hop nintendo will give us free update with dlc like a 8th board map from mario party 3 chilly waters or walaugi island. chily waters will be good if it releeses next month since its near holiday season
I've been playing a lot lately, mostly on Galleria, Bowser's Keep and Western Land. Bowser's Keep is indeed one of the best Bowser maps lately but the Byway is godawful. Last game took me 12 turns to get past it due people activating the event causing the direction to change. A little bit off topic now but the only annoyance I have with this game is the pacing. Between 1 and 2 hours for a 10turn game is way too long.
honestly i havent played party yet as i spent the last two days grinding for the new boards n characters, so i can play with my family and everything is unlocked. should i try party before?
@@ronaidensland5715 Lol lacking is an understatement. They are godawful to the tenth degree. This game made me rage quit the Mario party series for months.
Lol that doesn't mean much. I haven't played jamboree yet, but the boards on MP4 were so unfathomably bad that I don't think it could be replicated ever again.
@@georgecheliotis418 I actually want to see these boards reimagined. For example in Koopa’s seaside soirée get rid of Ukiki banana junction and make it so you can collect stars with a double or triple dice.
@@JacekDeMelo they are so bad and that game needs to be reworked so much that I really don't want them reimagined, I want to pretend that game never came out. I remember buying it because everybody had ranked it so highly... And I was just so infuriated. People really ranked this as a top mario party game because it has a few of the best minigames in the series. They aren't enough to overcome those horrendous boards and terrible items.
So, you don't like the board with difernt rules and a car... Interesting Albert Boring... Interesing. Excelet video though, my favorite board is waluigi island, i hope it appears as dlc or as new board in a future MP
I kinda disagree with somw of your rankings hsre. I liked Roll Em Raceway and the retro maps pretty muxh 1. Rainbow Galleria 2. Western Land 3. Roll Em Raceway 4. Mario's Rainbow Castle 5. King Bowser's Keep 6. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party 7. Goomba's Lagoon Rainbow Galleria js just as awesome as Coconut Mall
The retro boards shoulda been on, oh idk, MP Superstars! Jamboree should've been all new. Now make a new Mario Kart before Rockstar makes a new Red Dead.
Wiggler's Tree Party is decent, but I have to disagree about it being the best first board; I think Whomp's Domino Ruins beats it in that regard. The theming of Domino Ruins is so much more unique for a first level, making the map feel treacherous and unpredictable, which fits Mario Party well. Meanwhile, this board feels much safer with a generic yellow & green grasslands theme that's been done in pretty much every starting board. I also like the gimmick of Ruins better; it succeeds in bringing players closer together via the top route, while also forcing you to manage your coins in order to take the optimal path via the whomps. The Wiggler gimmick doesn't really affect the map that much unless you decide to take that one specific path, and outside of that it's just another bland map, albeit with a decent layout (Also I loved the video incredibly well put together good job)
Super mario party was one of the worst mario parties ever made. The fact that you rank whomps domino ruins so high tells me your experience in playing mario party is probably limited to the last 3 mario parties.
"unpredictable theming" bro the map Is like 90% gray, too many rocks "forcing you to manage your coins" the star is 10 coins, you always gain coins in minigames and the items aren't really expensive, ok the map is small but still it's not hard to gain 10 coins.
@@georgecheliotis418Can't say you're wrong there. I'm not comparing Domino Ruins to every other MP game, just to this one. I generally had a better time on that map than I did on this one. Still enjoy this one though.
@@mrpiccionedivino5598 When I say theming I mean the setting the level takes place in. Dangerous ancient ruins are a much more engaging theme than just another generic grassland
Moral of the story: if Nintendo makes anything mall related, the fans will love it
Coconut Mall, Alivel Mall, and now Rainbow Galleria
From what I see, all the boards are actually pretty good in this game, there is no genuinely a bad one.
True, even the worst board that albert boris ranked is still ok.
The raceway board is the only bad board to me.
So far the only one i dont find as fun is the wiggler stage
I find it just a tad uninteresting
But still a good board nonetheless
I personally found the boards kind of mid. The only really bad ones for me was the raceway and mall.
The mall felt designed for a longer game.
@@wizardlythat’s funny the mall was my favorite one
Honestly, roll em raceway was a board that exceeded my, kind of, low expectations, making it a personal favorite.
Same
Same here
Yeah, among the linear boards, this is one of the ones that execute it the best
@@4GRJDefinitely underrated, and the addition of star steal traps makes the size and simplicity of this board surprisingly complex and deadly to navigate. Especially when playing with a higher number of rounds, and chance time being potentially only a few rolls away from any point on the board, makes the last few turns chaotic
I thought it was going to be boring just going in circles. Turns out it’s all about strategizing your dice items.
My list:
7. Roll 'em Raceway
6. Mario's Rainbow Castle
5. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party
4. Western Land
3. Goomba Lagoon
2. King Bowser's Keep
1. Rainbow Galleria
My list is close to yours the only 2 I would switch is 4 and 3 I had a lot of fun on western land but all the boards are pretty good 😊👍
I agree with your list 👍
Massively agree
I agree
Also another small complaint for me is how being rich in coins doesn’t reward a star and its a bit hard to make a comeback i feel
Haven’t played a ton yet so i might be wrong
I think the charm was that variety on themes and settings, there's a lot of minigames that happen in an empty space or lack a special theming. Previous games had minigames set in factories, alleyways, cities, the sun, a mario statue of liberty holding an ice cream. Even super had a minigame inside a train, and that one where volcanoes are shaped like corn
Honestly couldn’t disagree agree more, the mini games are the perfect mix of skill and BS. And less luck dependent overall
This is interesting. I feel the exact opposite. I actually love these mini-games more than I did the ones in Super and Superstars.
And honestly, if you have enough coins, all you would wanna do is get to a star first before your opponent can, so the dice is a huge gamble of an item with huge implications, if you’re able to utilize it in the best way
HOW! How do you have this much energy to make a board ranking OF A 3 DAY OLD GAME????
You just do it.
Of the 4 I’ve played so far:
4th Goomba Lagoon.
For me
7th King Bowser's keep
6th Mario's rainbow castle
5th Roll em Raceway
4th Mega wigglers tree party
3rd Western Land
2nd Goomba Lagoon
1 Rainbow Galleria
My parents and I hosted two gaming evenings because of the new Mario Party game, we tested 6 boards (except the Bowser map)
1. Rainbow Galleria (this is honestly in the top 5 best Mario Party boards of all time)
2. Western Land (I‘m not to fond of the remake maps, but this one was really cute and fun)
3. Wiggler‘s Tree Party (very cute and easy layout for beginners, very fun too)
4. Goomba Lagoon (the changes every two rounds makes this board a lot more tricky)
5. Rainbow Castle (cute map but the layout itself is a bit boring for me)
6. Raceway (sadly the worst one, it‘s so generic and plain, I expected a lot more for this one)
Now, if only there was also a few more boards added aswell. Does anyone agree that Nintendo should/will add more boards to Super Mario Party Jamboree?
they rly should!
especially the beach area in the hub looks so empty!
They should but we all know they won't. Nintendo still hasn't grasped the concept of dlc.
@@bonesjackson81they added dlc to smash bros and Mario kart it’s possible they’ll do the same with Mario party
@Future011 Exceptions to their norm. Shoulda had a new MK by now. Don't get it twisted I'm glad they added to it but it took years. Dlc is still a pretty ignored thing for Nintendo. They're always a decade behind. I got a real love/hate thing with Nintendo.
I hope so. I’d really like if they took the Mario Kart 8 approach
Havent watched the video yet but wanted to share my Top 7:
Honestly Goomba Lagoon’s tide system isn’t that broken, and I do like this board better than I thought I would, but the pacing of the game makes it feel like you are stranded for way too long
I picked this game up at GameStop a few hours ago, and this is easily my favorite Mario Party game (I've only played Superstars)
Same!
i would recommend the gamecube games, those are very good
I think a red flag to indicate a board that is too luck-based is that you only have fun with it when you’re playing it with friends.
Super Mario Party Jamboree is the most hyped I’ve ever been for a Mario Party. 7 boards, the second-most out of any game and all of them are peak (unlike 1). Also Mario’s Rainbow Castle and Western Land are back!
Here is how I rank all of the Boards from Best to Worst in my Opinion:
1. Rainbow Galleria
2. King Bowser’s Keep
3. Western Land
4. Goomba Lagoon
5. Mario’s Rainbow Castle
6. Roll ‘em Raceway
7. Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party
This video is making me think if I should get Jamboree or Smash bros make a minigame tearlist and I'll see thank you
I haven’t played all the boards yet, but I will rank the ones that I have done:
6. Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party
5. Goomba Lagoon
4. Mario’s Rainbow Castle
3. Western Land
2. Rainbow Galleria
1. Roll’ em Raceway
Everything is subject to change once I do King Bowser’s Keep
I wish you got a star for collecting all the stamps in the mall instead of more coins!
We should praise whatever Nintendo makes that is Mall related
Can’t wait to play Rainbow Galleria. I honestly think it might become my favorite board in the whole series.
It really is amazing! Just about everything flows perfectly...
It is definitely my favorite board in the whole series!!
This is a minor thing but I absolutely adore that the game calls the train steamer his acual name, because in superstars woody was called "the nice tree"
I also think it's better to nerf the rail part in western land making it more riskier just because in the original Boo was easily accesible and most stars are in the rails
I waited until i’ve played all of the boards to watch this video, forgive me Miss Boris for waiting a week to watch it 😭
I have only played three boards so far, but this is a really fun set of boards so far.
I agree and actually now the mall is my favorite stage in all of Mario party! It’s just that good!
My list:
#7 Goomba Lagoon
#6 Western Land
#5 Roll Em' Raceway
#4 Mario's Rainbow Castle
#3 King Bowser's Keep
#2 Mega Wiggler's Tree Party
#1 Rainbow Galleria
The only one that I love about Roll ‘em Raceway is how the music is played it has such a happy upbeat vibe to it reminds me of any other Mario Kart OST. Also I admire Mario’s Rainbow Castle, its one of my favorite boards from the first game brings me joy and so many nostalgia from it as well with Western Land love the music I from MP3 I played that board for hours on my own 😅😊
Here is how I would rank each board:
1. Mario’s Rainbow Castle 🏰☁️🌈
2. Goomba Lagoon 🌋🏝️
3. King Bowser’s Keep 🔥⚙️
4. Roll ‘em Raceway 🏎️🏁
5. Rainbow Galleria 🛍️🌈
6. Western Land 🏜️🚂🌵
7. Mega Wiggler’s Treetop Party 🐛🌲🔔
I think all of these boards are great!
Here are rankings best-to-worst:
*1st: Rainbow Galleria:* It comes to no surprise that this board is iconic. *[S Tier]*
*2nd: Western Land:* I don’t care what anybody says, nothing will ever top the godly theme and gimmick of this board. The idea of parts of the board being on tracks in which you could get hit by is such a great and creative idea. Nothing will ever top this board in this game, *except one…* *[A Tier]*
*3rd: King Bowser’s Keep:* Unlike what you’d expect from looking at this board, this is probably one of the best bowser themed Mario stages I’ve seen in a while. The conveyor belt gimmick is very well made, and is finally the amount of punishment I’ve wanted to see in a Mario Party game for along time, and easy A. *[A Tier]*
*4th: Goomba Lagoon:* At first I wanted to rank this higher, but upon further inspection and more replays, I just found the whole tide gimmick pretty irritating. *[B Tier]*
*5th: Mario’s Rainbow Castle:* I thought this was a good board in Mario Party 1, and it’s not that it’s bad here, but it just doesn’t feel natural playing this board with items and lucky spaces, etc. This board was very simple and minimalistic, and I have no problem admitting that it really should’ve stuck that way in the remake. Maybe it’s just nostalgia, but I’ve never felt the same about this board with all the new or recent mechanics embedded into it. *[C Tier]*
*6th: Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party:* This one was probably the board I was most disappointed by, mainly because I thought it was a great idea for an introductory board. *[C Tier]*
*7th: Roll ‘em Raceway:* The whole theme of the board sounds like it would be the sickest thing you ever saw in Mario Party, but unfortunately, it’s the exact opposite.
Here is how I rank all of the Boards from Best to Worst in my Opinion:
1. Rainbow Galleria
2. King Bowser’s Keep
3. Western Land
4. Goomba Lagoon
5. Mario’s Rainbow Castle
6. Roll ‘em Raceway
7. Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party
@@luigigreen_ I liked Rollin Raceway a lot more than I expected. It all just revolves around strategically timing your dice items, a simple concept I found really satisfying.
@@panampace that sounds good, however theres only 1 shop so you can't even get items in the first place
The guy who loves mp9 says roll em raceway and rainbow castle are too simple 💀
For me when playing Goomba Lagoon, one game all 4 people playing got stuck on one island from turn 6 until the end. It was a niiiiiightmare.
All of these boards are really good so it's kinda hard to rank them but my list is probably
7: Mario's Rainbow Castle
6: Mega Wiggler's Tree Party
5: Roll em Raceway
4: Western Land
3: Goomba Lagoon
2: King Bowser's Keep (As of writing this I have unlocked this board but haven't actually played it yet, I'm thinking it'll go here though)
1: Rainbow Galleria
Very accurate list!
Great ranking, curious to see if I'd rank these boards the same or slightly differently after playing on them myself (I'm currently playing through the Story Mode), but based on everything I've seen and heard of them I overall agree with your reasoning!
My ranking would be
7. Roll em' Raceway (D)
6. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party (A)
5. King Bowser's Keep (A)
4. Goomba Lagoon (A)
3. Western Land (A)
2. Mario's Rainbow Castle (S)
1. Rainbow Galleria (S++)
I still haven't played King Bowser's Keep, so I skipped that one to avoid spoilers but other than that I agree with a lot of stuff! Great video!
My ranking:
1. Goomba Lagoon
2. Rainbow Galleria
3. Western Land
4. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party
5. Mario's Rainbow Castle
6. Roll Em Raceway
I enjoyed every board in this game no matter what
Great video!
I really want to play this game soon and it looks amazing!
For my opinion it goes 1. Goomba lagoon 2. Wiggler’s tree party (diddy’s tree party) 3. Western land 4. The mall map 5. bowsers keep 6. Raceway (Mario kart map) and last is Mario’s rainbow map
Here are my rankings so far:
1. Western Land (fantastic)
2. Rainbow Galleria (generally great)
3. Roll Em Raceway (plain good)
4. Mario’s Rainbow Castle (better than the original)
5. Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party (decent)
Haven’t played the other two yet so that’s why they’re not on the list.
Looking at these comments, I guess it's no surprise that a lot of people are ranking Rainbow Galleria as #1
Probably to first board ranking video for this new game thats awesome
I Agree with your rankings.
If the turbo dice could be played on other people, that would be a great way to troll people.
Great video can't wait for the rest! Unfortunately, I don't have a ranking right now because I only have played a little of Mega Wiggler's Tree Party because I waiting to unlock Mario's Rainbow Castle first but good video either way.
In Roll Em Raceway there’s a Space Land Easter Egg with the Runaway Whomp and the Snifit police chasing you down instead of Broozer
Only flaw is they never said you can play with only one person per switch to play with 8 players. It could've just been 4 players per switch or 2 at least
Haven’t played all but here’s mine.
1. Western Land S
2. Goomba Lagoon S
3. Rainbow Galleria S
4. Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party B
Love the video! Could you maybe make a ranking for all boards on switch? So super mario party, superstars and jamboree?
I agree with the last place! It made me rage too much and places 3rd the bonus toda never gave any luck!
I like western land, my issue with the game is that. I haven't been lucky
If I had a nickel for every first Mario Party board that was themed after Wigglers and Piranha Plants in a forest with one of them being extra large I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice right
did not excpect western land to be bottom 3😞 but everything else is pretty agreeable, W video albert
I was pretty shocked as well by how low I put it! But it's still good thankfully lol!
This is a personal opinion ranking video. The mall is definitely the best board period
They ruined hootenanny for me. I liked gettin drunk on milk. Well in the ig it felt like you got drunk, theyd spin around like they drank too much. I cant believe you put the wiggler map over western land though
My ranking with brief explanations goes:
???. King Bowser's Keep (Haven't unlocked this one yet unfortunately)
6. Roll-em Raceway (basically what she said in the video; a bit too linear for my taste)
5. Mario's Rainbow Castle (also too linear and the Bowser gimmick feels punishing, but I can appreciate the strategy that comes with it)
4. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party (feels very bland compared to Whomp's Domino Ruins and the Wiggler gimmick feels kinda inconsequential)
3. Western Land (Really great map with a good means of exploration, but the back half of the map feels a bit barren)
2. Rainbow Galleria (Best map gameplay-wise but the aesthetic falls a bit short for me. It's really just a matter of personal preference in that regard; I tend to like more natural-looking maps)
1. Goomba Lagoon (Everything Albert said about this in the video is true. I LOVE the aesthetic and it has the second-best gameplay so it averages higher than Coconut Mall 2: Electric Boogaloo)
Love it❤❤❤
I mean there are no bad maps BUT goomba lagoon is just evil for me. I have played the map thrice and damn i started counting my rolls, in 30 turns i have rolled 2 times over 5. And for one of those i rolled a double 10 while trapped on a tiny island in the middle.
My bad Albert I was unaware I wasn’t subscribed already
I didn’t like how the new dice in roll’em raceway doesn’t like you interact with anything, there’s literally no point in it
they got one of the best 1 star difficult board: rainbow castle
i haven't played this game but i am interested in your ranking
"And that iiissss" (Dorito Add incoming)
Goomba Supremacy
Hey Albert, could you please rank all the boards from all the Mario partys?
very nice. yup everyones favorite is Rainbow Galleria. i knew it was gonna be my favorite and everyones. its the best board in the game. here is my list
7 Roll 'em Raceway
6 Mario's Rainbow Castle
5 King Bowser's Keep
4 Goomba Lagoon
3 Mega Wiggler's Tree Party
2 Western Land
1 Rainbow Galleria
i like all the borad maps there all fun. its been a while since we had 6 borad maps. like mario game game that had 7 borad maps was mario party 9. the orthers only had 5. super mario party had only 4 board maps and super stars had 5 board maps. and i hop nintendo will give us free update with dlc like a 8th board map from mario party 3 chilly waters or walaugi island. chily waters will be good if it releeses next month since its near holiday season
I love roll em raceway 💔
Western Land is my favorite
The worst bored is Mario party 9 gimmick
Ninja for president of the United States
There is not a single bad board here. The worst board in this game is better than the best board in Mario party 4🤣
Yeah the boards in 4 were very lacking.
I hope to god we get DLC MAPS
It’s been a while
Watched my girl play online last night and she was having a blast game is awesome 👌
So, you don't like the board with difernt rules and a car... Interesting Albert Boring... Interesing.
Excelet video though, my favorite board is waluigi island, i hope it appears as dlc or as new board in a future MP
It’s on the east because America is east of Japan.
rainbow galleria is the best. which song did u use for rainbow galleria, it is godly
I used the Homestretch version of the theme while talking about it!
I kinda disagree with somw of your rankings hsre. I liked Roll Em Raceway and the retro maps pretty muxh
1. Rainbow Galleria
2. Western Land
3. Roll Em Raceway
4. Mario's Rainbow Castle
5. King Bowser's Keep
6. Mega Wiggler's Tree Party
7. Goomba's Lagoon
Rainbow Galleria js just as awesome as Coconut Mall
The retro boards shoulda been on, oh idk, MP Superstars! Jamboree should've been all new. Now make a new Mario Kart before Rockstar makes a new Red Dead.
6:07 lol
It been 3 days
Why is western land east?
Well the world is round sooo….it’s technically far far west.
I was like "but what if the Mario world is on a flat planet?" Then I remembered Mario Odyssey.
Boards are great but still doesn’t top the Mario party 8 boards
The Wiggler gimmick doesn't really affect the map that much unless you decide to take that one specific path, and outside of that it's just another bland map, albeit with a decent layout
(Also I loved the video incredibly well put together good job)
Super mario party was one of the worst mario parties ever made. The fact that you rank whomps domino ruins so high tells me your experience in playing mario party is probably limited to the last 3 mario parties.
"unpredictable theming" bro the map Is like 90% gray, too many rocks
"forcing you to manage your coins" the star is 10 coins, you always gain coins in minigames and the items aren't really expensive, ok the map is small but still it's not hard to gain 10 coins.
I dont get why people like western land so much, realllyyy boring imo
