    Hey everyone. If you're wondering what the message is in the corner, it's because all donations I receive during live streams is going in a pot towards my new permanent workshop build. You can help if you want, but you don't have to 😅 www.streamelements.com/thecod3r/tip

    Quality fix pal. I've got one similar but instead a Series X. 1v inject 1a draw but NOTHING getting hot on 12v rail. Actually went up to 3a but stone cold.
    Wonder if I should now just start pulling the 12v fets to see if that sorts it 🤣🤣

    At this situation I desolder one side of vcore inductors and lift them up.
    To find that is the short from apu side or the mosfets side

  • @SidneyCritic
    @SidneyCritic Год назад

    Don't you just use a cheap ebay transistor tester to check identical FET circuits, ie, the shorted one will show "Unidentified Part" or something else, while the good ones show a FET.

    Typical would be the last flipping one. I had the same another fet though, with voltage injection couldn’t see any heat on the fet, with PSU beep on beep off, could see minor heat on one fet. Removed and short gone 😁

    I just found your channel and this was awesome! I have an Xbox series S who’s power flashes and shuts right down, have you ever seen anything like this or have a video fixing this type of fault?

    • @TheCod3r
      @TheCod3r  Год назад

      I haven't seen that personally but it would depend how quickly it happens really. If it happens during gameplay it could be overheating, if it happens on the dashboard or as soon as it starts up it could be the power supply or some board issue 🤔

    Curious as to whether you have ever used a milliohm meter to locate shorts, though you remove / retest / refit components faster than most people blink.

    • @TheCod3r
      @TheCod3r  Год назад

      I use the multimeter but you're right, it doesn't take me long to remove and refit the mosfets so it doesn't matter too much when you know what's on that rail, and the common failures too. This entire repair from start to finish only lasted 61 minutes including interacting with chat so it wasn't too bad 😀
