Moon Cakes aren't based on rice cakes. Instead, they are pastries filled with different veggie pastes (usually sweet) such as red bean paste, lotus seed paste, etc. There is often a salty boiled egg yolk in the middle to represent the moon.
Hi Chris, if you like Singapore, you'll really love Malaysia. It's just like Singapore, but cheaper.😁 We go a lot. Buses run up/down the Malay Peninsula all the time. I would say skip JB, spend 2 days in Malacca, 4 days+ in KL, 3-4 days in Penang. You'll be going back often. 🤙
