If you had a base model and added clothing on top of it, Should you delete the faces of the base model where there is clothing? Does it save render time?
It should but the real difference would be noticed in video games and animating since it has way less poly count (although if you wanna cloth simulate you still need the body to be used as the collision object so don't delete it if you wanna animate the clothing via simulation)
hey! So this guide is GREAT. However im running into an issue with alpha. My character has eyes. The outer eye has an alpha gradient texture where the iris is to be visible. If i bake it all ordinarily that iris region appears black. If i turn alpha blend on then all my materials are see through. I need alpha blend only for the outer eye. Any ideas how to get this done?
If you have a 3D Model that has come from someone else that has already had its shaders and maps applied from PNG files for the various effects and you can literally see a rendered result could you bake the materials together without the unwrap? as it looks like that part has already been done looking at the PNGs.
please use principled baker addon , it's free and does all of this is one click , if we suppose you have to do that for 100 objects ? what you gonna do ? baking it one by one ? so be smart use PRINCIPLED BAKER , it cost 0
omg you speak so freaking fast. This is a tutorial but not entertainment video! wHY YOU DOING THIS.??? You explain so difficult things in so confusing way that's insane!
I forgot to mention:
**In the Shading Tab, Change the Color space of the Normal Map image texture to Non-Color to avoid lighting and seam problems**
All of this information is so helpful I didnt think I would find this anywhere for free. Thanks a lot. :D
Thank you for this, it helped a lot!
Your guides are one of the reasons I continue to learn blender and start new projects.
Well needed! Thank you 🙏
THANK YOU SO MUCH IT WORKED AND IT DIDNT TAKE THAT LONG LOL I WAS CONFUSED AT FIRST BUT UR HELPFUL
I'm so confused this video got so little views.Very handy information!

Dude u're the OG's !
Thanks a lot 😊
All of my images just bake as black :(
Exact problem
i hate textures
I have the same issue, anyone knows how to solve it?
did u fix it?
It didn’t work, I did all steps and the texture is blank and grey, i need help
Do not use sRGB Color Space in normal maps, use the Non-Color.
Correct, It's on Non-Color for the final character, i forgot to do it for this video since it was mostly about baking, thanks for the reminder :)
I have a problem with all blenders from 3.5 and up that when I bake normals they get hard creased edges in random spots, how do I stop this?

no BUT it should already be uv unwrapped for you in that case or the textures wouldnt be able to show on your model.
Amazing

@@levyb6380Is Google down?
I couldn’t agree more!
How id this remotely "game ready", you really think games are out there using 6k textures for a single character???
my character have black texture after baking
You had to bake the textures... not the character 💀
reduce metelness to 0
it just crashed my blender and i lost all my progress on it.
