My sister and I are each making this quilt. We did the the cutting process at the same time, and that made that process easier. Today we are ironing a sewing line into all the small squares. Next, we will sew each step of our individual quilts at the same time. Since this is a first quilt for each of us, the companionship during the entire process is reassuring. Additionally, we're laughing a lot and enjoying one another's company.
    💕 Having a sister: God's answer to providing a life-long friend! 💕

I like watching and counting how many changes of clothing Donna has, along with nail colour. It tells me how many days of filming there were. So we can feel good knowing that if it took Donna a few days to make, we can relax and know it will take us a few days as well. Or more!!

The Pirouette Quilt is absolutely gorgeous. I most definitely want to make this quilt in the exact same fabric collection and colors. Once you revealed the final finished quilt I felt sure this is the one I want to make for me. Then when you showed the Red, Yellow and Cream Colored Quilt that is named "Roundabout" for the second time in this video I had my breath taken away by the beauty of your quilts. Since I now cannot make up my mind which of the two quilts I like the very very most--Pirouette or Roundabout--in the exact fabrics you chose to make them in, I laughed to myself and decided I will make them both for me! Why not? Every other quilt I've loved--that I've seen you make in past videos---I've decided that I want to make it for a gift to various family and friends because I am sure they would love the gorgeous quilt as much as I do. Until today, I have never given myself permission to make a quilt you've just demonstrated because it is so beautiful that it just has to be for one of my loved ones. I have to laugh at myself. To make all the quilts of yours that I have come to love I am never going to be able to leave my sewing machine. What a fun thought! Thank you Donna for working so hard to share your talents and your world of quilts with those of us who love your quilting world too! Now I have to be as diligent with my own work, just so I can make the time and the money to make my dreams of being a creator of "Donna's favorite quilts" too! In this process, you have introduced me to a world of talented fabric and quilt pattern designers that I had never heard of before.
So much talent that arose from a body of generational industry held close to each participants heart--a treasure trove of family secrets--that are now accessible to us all! I am truly grateful! Donna: although I have never met you in person, through your quilting tutorials you and your work family have become great friends of mine. I sincerely respect, admire and appreciate you, Donna Jordan, your husband, Matt Jordan, and your Jordan family / team... absolutely everyone else who has worked with you and continues to work with you (directly and indirectly) to create "Jordan Fabrics, the business" and then to produce "Jordan Fabrics, the RUclips Channel." It really does take a village to raise a child...and today I am reminded that this is also true for business too! If there were such a thing as an Award Show produced to honor the fabulous individual talent and collective achievement within your world of industry that is brought to life on RUclips's International Stage. I would definitely nominate DONNA JORDAN & JORDAN FABRICS et. al. cross my heart!

Donna - I have learned so much just by watching how you do things. How you line up the edges of the material and hold them in place. How you finger press to make things lay flat. The way you iron strip sets to keep them straight. I now use a weight to cut six layers- this from a girl who only used a rotary cutter for the first time less than a year ago! Every time I watch a tutorial, I learn something. Thank you for making these. I look forward to seeing many many more.

Donna I seen a few more design layouts in this quilt pattern that you just made by changing colors of the fabrics and directions of the blocks. I see houses, rockets. I wonder what the design of the quilt would look like if you made the centers turned to the outsides and the corners in the middle.

Donna talking about the yard stick brought back a funny memory from my childhood.
Mom was always hollaring for us to bring the yardstick. It, too, was 4 feet long...a wooden measuring stick that was an advertisement that said something to the effect of we go the extra measure for our customers. It drove my dad crazy that mom always called it a yardstick since it was 4 feet. I'm pretty sure she did it on purpose! Thanks for bringing back that memory, Donna!

When snowballing corners, make a second seam a GENEROUS 1/4 " from your previous seam, cut that off half way between the 2 stitching lines. Now you have a HST in the same colors for a border accent, wall hanging or other project. Choose a small print quilting pattern if you are worried about the smaller seam allowance, but I've never had any trouble with generous 1/8 seams.

I have lots of Christmas panels in my stash. Can you do a tutorial on using them. They are to small. To just quilt as is.

It annoys me that fabric manufacturers vary the sizes of 2.5" strips. A 2.5" jelly roll should measure 2.5", with or without pinked edges. I usually don't purchase any fabric with pinked edges. Nice tutorial. I save my cut off corners to make itsy bitsy HSTs at 1.5". I'll do something with them once I get hundreds done!
