04:02 Geldof is not exaggerating about Townshend coming "out to kill". I saw them in Detroit for the Who's Next tour and after two opening bands, the audience surged forward, filling the aisles and pit. I was lucky to get a seat dead center, 10th row. The announcer spent ten minutes pleading with everyone to get back to their seats on order of the Fire Marshal. The band was waiting impatiently in a doorway at the back of the stage and I saw Townshend get into a shouting match with some functionary, slam the guy against the door and bound out onto the stage with the rest of the band in pursuit. He made a beeline for the announcer, kicked him into the pit, stomped over to his amps, picked up his guitar, cranked it up and proceeded to slam the first of two hours of power chords. Fueled by fury, they played brilliantly and loud, OMG *LOUD*. My ears rang for two days afterward. And yes, a guitar was sacrificed that night; little tiny pieces.
Oh yes ..and Pete Townshend...I think..is one of the greatest guitar players..rock guitar player extraordinaire...and John Entwistle was one of the greatest bass players ever...he did indeed make that thing sing like a lead guitar!!...and effortlessly...these guys were crazy magnetic!!
Yes!...not the group..but the exclamation...and then the question as the Who asked and many should still be asking...even themselves..."Who the "F" are you?
I'm kinda glad they axed this hall of fame thing. Although it was a good idea on paper, all this inducting and award show shit seems so Hollywood and fake. Yuck! Rock and Roll has always been about stand alone and for the kids, not conform and pat each other on the back.
the who is loved by all rock musicians

No one comes close to The Who!! And recently they just received the Kennedy Center honor. Again no one comes close!
