I have no experience with engines or mechanical work. Watching your videos makes me think I could to this, which it a testimony to your fantastic presentation.
Ollie's machine shop is the place for all air cooled Porsche case work , they are the best (in the US). They do have a slower turnaround as they are popular but it's worth the wait. Ollie's Engineering, 1080 Aviation Dr B100 Lake Havasu City, Arizona 86404 (928) 855-6101
You never showed the end of the IMS with the oil pump on it. I really am curious what kind of bearing it has? You are definitely not getting in a hurry on this. I would have a hard time keeping track of everything over that time span.
There was no bearing in 69, the intermediate shaft rode on the mag case. In the engine machining they bored that out to accept a bearing surface. I cover that in the the rebuild part 1.
Werner Von Braun smoked like a freight train. Had to check to see what was causing all that smoke. Didnt know if it was bad piston rings is a bad head seal.

Really enjoying all these videos. Not a Porsche guy myself, but am learning a lot.
Thanks Jeff!
great job on all your videos ! love them Porsche
This is how I picture Porsche ownership. Frequent overhauls.
Love it!
and a beer to celebrate well done
Love your videos. Doing research för my project. How did you take of the valve springs ?
I bought a spring compressor from Amazon
Why does a 6-cylinder boxer engine need a balance shaft?
Where did you sent your case and internals to? I’m starting on my fathers 68 911s and I want to get everything overhauled properly.

Why was the engine rebuilt? Internals still look very good.
