I have been a fan of Yoyoka ever since she was very little. Her early videos are adorable. She has become a fantastic drummer. Congratulations. Yoyoka and family.‼️
This one is all action! It's great to see Yoyoka playing with many different musicians, and fulfilling her dream. Lots of great sessions. Of course the Ken Okada Group concert was gorgeous. I especially enjoyed the jam with Gary Husband. I guess he enjoyed Yoyoka's ability to listen, understand, and improvise. The session with Lin and Aodun sounded like you were all ready to go live. 👏 With twenty twenty hindsight, replacing all the gas pipes would be quicker. I hope the gas got fixed, or you moved. Best Wishes to You, Shido, Mum, Dad, all the friends who helped, and musicians you played with. ☮
Great video! 39:52 gotta cherish these small & simple moments. It reminded me of when I was young. My dad was still alive and he would cut my hair back then. Thanks for sharing!
Looks pretty much like Yoyoka cannot walk past a drum kit without playing it. This is certainly the undoubtable indication of a passion. Gary Husband. Gary Husband, as yet, the biggest exponent of that good old fusion (jazz-rock) she's played with. "Great experience" is what he says.
Yoyoka said in another video that the house belonged to an acquaintance who let them stay there, but it had been unoccupied for years. The owner was aware that it would need some work, but nobody expected how much work it needed. Regardless, the family was forced to leave not long thereafter, due to torrential rains causing damage on the hill where the house is. They currently live somewhere else.
Wow! So many amazing jam sessions. They all sounded great. But such a long saga with the gas leak! I hope you finally got it fixed and you could start living in your house properly. Despite all of the challenges of moving to a new place, one day you'll look back and laugh about it, and the memories you have of this time will make you smile. Cheers from the UK!
I see you had to put in a lot of work to make that house suitable for living in. The video also shows all the work that goes into a giving live performance, which is considerable as it can involve travel, and other logistical challenges. Just like a moth is drawn to the light, you always end up in a Guitar Center. Look forward to seeing future adventures, especially when Shido dunking that basketball.
Miss Yoyoka. In many places in California it is not legal to rent a house or other living space that has gas leaks or non- drinkable water upon moving in. Please be careful. I recommend you check with the city you are in about these laws.
Yoyoka, as you and your family are very much aware, a gas leak is very dangerous. I hope you find somewhere else, safer, to live. What you’ve had to go through is really unacceptable. Get yourself a good lawyer, if you need to, and get out of the lease on the house with the leak! Best of luck.
You have been way too patient in fixing the gas leak. Home gas systems are NOT the complicated. The people you have been calling to fix it are not professionals or they just don't want to be bothered. Either way, they should be ashamed of themselves.
