He already had a learning disability even before all of this so imagine his mind set now. He would have to use a ghost writer but Im 1000% sure his book would sell off the charts. My heart broke for him.

Helpful to other black men that have been through the jail system express how he was able to cope after he got out of jail what are the do's and the don'ts in legal system when he was a kid he didn't know that he could have asked for a lawyer or talk to new paper or just say I'm not going to say anything until my mother or my parents get there he was just a scared kid wanted to go home but he could write the book that's beneficial not only for him but for the reader as well
Ebro is a terrible interviewer (imo), especially when it comes to sensitive topics like this. He is too much of a narcissist, and too arrogant (big ego), to be truly respectful of and empathetic/thoughtful towards the people he's interviewing. Interrupting them, talking over them, and not letting them finish. He lacks proper listening skills. A good listener listens to understand, not to reply. It's their story, and it's a very important story, and _their_ voices are the important ones to hear - not his.
youngcongonasb I dont think it’s that. I honestly think he’s a man of few words. I dont believe he’s had much education so topics like this hurt him deeply but he keeps it short because that’s how he communicates on these platforms.
He had hearing problems & a learning disability at a young age. So being a child & going to prison for 13 years & going through what he went through in there didn’t help
I'm addicted to their story and injustice. Korey is right, I'm glad he is alive today too. If this was the 1950, they would have been hanged. I'm proud their Strong Black Men!!!! I'm honored!!!!
OMG!! Same here. I find myself reading and watching their interviews very frequently. I'm intrigued. I must admit I know they struggle and haven't forgotten about their experience but I think God definitely has his hands on them. He paid them double for their trouble 🙏
I have to agree he shouldnt be asking questions just do your research and stop being a detective. They were kids hanging in a park it's not illegal period.
Yes I totally agree and I also feel like the questions were asked very aggressive & unsensitive ugh the whole time their interviewing them ...they haven't once noticed Korey's facial expressions or lack of tentativness because certain subjects are still sensitive. Ugh. Stay away from the interviews guys people only want their numbers to jump.
All young black kids need to watch this interview. They need to understand that white people don't see them as equals, but threats, innocent or not. It's sad. But thanks for the interview content. I'll make my nephew watch this so he knows what to expect from white people.
I watched the documentary i feel sooo sorry for korey they need to give him more time to talk he did the most time you can tell he really didnt have that support like the other kids did in the documentary
I think he is in too much pain to speak. In other interviews its hard to get more than 5 words out of him at a time. So i think the other men knew that and didnt put him in that situation where he was forced to speak. I also think hes got learning difficulties that make communication a bit more difficult. Hes just a quiet guy
I wish this would encourage more minorities to go to school to take jobs as Judges, Cops, Lawyers, etc. There is an overwhelming amount of Whites in positions of making those decisions that put minorities in jail.
Well this story has certainly encouraged me to the point where I’m changing my major and going into the justice system!! Ava and this story has impacted me and so many poc youth🙏🏾
The crazy part is Mr. Bloomberg refused to settle. The prosecutors, the detectives, NYPD and the victim are upset that they got $41M because they think they don't deserve it.
trha2222 They deserve more than that. They WERE and weren’t at the same time and that’s the problem. They had the man who had admitted to the crime and they had his dna evidence and yet they still kept some of them in prison 2 extra years before they actually convicted the dude
trha2222 something is seriously wrong with you and the whole thing was illegal from the beginning. And yeah I do, watch when they see us on Netflix. They were my age and arrested because the cops and prosecutors last asses needed somebody to pin it on.
Out of all the interviews I have seen with these wonderful gentlemen I am sickened by the interviewers. They really show no real compassion or tactfulness in their questioning. The Netflix special really had me feeling some type of way about Yusef mother and the true understanding of what Korey sacrificed being there for her son. I know Korey has a forgiving heart but I am disappointed but I admire his strength and humility. Korey is very much effected, you can tell in the way he talks. His development and psyche is messed up due to confinement. These police were so pressed to get someone but what would it help if the real person is still out there ! And he was still committing crimes🤦🏽♀️
Korey had some development issues previously, he had some hearing issues prior too, which kept him from reading well. He was affected even more with being in prison all those years.
Ebro seemed to be asking them why they didn't "know better" or if they should have made the decision not to go to the park that night...like, what kind of question is that? The implication was that they could have done something differently--as if hanging out in Central Park and being a little rowdy at 14,15,16 years old is a crime. It's the racist system that should be interrogated...not these innocent men.

My heart hurts for Korey! He went thru so much pain, I hate this had happen to all of them, May God bless them
What happened to korey?
Kina Robert he had to go to a adult prison at the age 16 and he got beaten there severely
During this time you can tell he(Korey) was still hurting 💔
All of their stories are so sad but Korey has my heart man ❣️. May God bless all of them.
I love to hear Korey speak...He touches my Soul Prayers go out to this brother
trha2222 Where did you get him saying “ this brother “ to thinking He said “ this is my brother “ please reread
trha2222 okay let me break it down for you , he said this brother . Us black people refer to each other as brother or sister. Never did he once say he was his brother ...
Nothing about that is racist.
trha2222 it’s obvious you must be a child or illiterate,so I’m leaving this conversation where it is
I click on the ones that his speaking just to hear him speak🙏🏾
Kory has ptsd really bad my heart goes out to him he should right a tall book about his experience in prison and maybe writing will be therapy for him
I feel like that would trigger his ptsd even more
He already had a learning disability even before all of this so imagine his mind set now.

Agreed!!! Well said!
I agree! this was BAD
AGRREEEDD. i can’t even finish the interview 🥴 he is horrible
I'm sooooo glad I'm not the only one who felt that. Water down story, insignificant questions.

Yeah...I cried really hard
If you get a chance watch the Kalief Browder story also. Another story in NYC
The last episode I was done I cried like my family members passed away
Corey did the most time and they don't even let him speak up in the interviews
youngcongonasb I dont think it’s that. I honestly think he’s a man of few words. I dont believe he’s had much education so topics like this hurt him deeply but he keeps it short because that’s how he communicates on these platforms.
He did say in the movie he tired of answering questions, questions is what got him in his position in the first place
youngcongonasb Corey suffered the most 😢😢
I watched abother interview and even when he was asked questions his answers were 5 words max. He doesnt like to talk much and they knew that
He had hearing problems & a learning disability at a young age.

How tf is he a bad interviewer for asking a legitimate question?!
Interviewing is literally asking questions. And he also stated for them to explain no need to google when you can get it from the horses mouth
This interview was not conducted well at all! Lacked compassion and just seemed rushed :(
Yes I totally agree and I also feel like the questions were asked very aggressive & unsensitive ugh the whole time their interviewing them ...they haven't once noticed Korey's facial expressions or lack of tentativness because certain subjects are still sensitive.

Ebro seemed to be asking them why they didn't "know better" or if they should have made the decision not to go to the park that night...like, what kind of question is that?
