smh its sad how companies are so money hungry now😭 then u have Nintendo who gets mad when you wanna player older games on ur PC or host smash tournaments💀💀
Really solid take tbh. What do you think if companies would allow people to choose where the funds go (in the humble-bundle charity style)? So buy a skin and you got sliders for choosing how much % goes into feature dev, new cosmetics, polishing existing stuff, etc? And this take is considering that "pay once" multiplayer/live-service games won't be as common anymore
100% I think giving the fanbase a way to impact future features and buy things knowing exactly what it enables would be amazing. I would love to see this honestly
@@MillsFPS Is there any way I could contact you to chat any further about this topic? I'm currently on the hunt for my PhD research topic and really tempted to do something on monetization
Hell I'm a young guy and to be honest I prefer the older games. DK, super mario bros, Legend of Zelda twilight princess etc. I find that games now days are just pumped out because they have to. Same as movies/shows. I miss when games had passion and love put into it. When they were art not just half baked cookies. Do I play OW2 yes because I want to get decent at it. I started playing to try but continue because it unfinished business. I play to try and complete but so many games today can't be completed.
Do you feel that games like Valorant will last and is it worth striving to be a pro player to earn well and do something you may enjoy or would you put a greater emphasis on content creation
I would never suggest anyone to choose pursuing pro play over content creation. If you get some opportunities sure, but content creation is much more guaranteed as a career.
hard to tell, viewership for VAL VCT's haven't been as high this year, they will also face major competition from CS2 which is the game for hardcore shooters.
i played shoot em ups since the 90's siphon filter and all that now im enjoying vampire the masquerade bloodhunt i have alot of skins and i have not spent one dollar on the game so bloodhunt hit it on the head free battle pass free coins free unlockables

After playing roblox tac shooters for the last 12 years this really hits close to home. Good video mills, keep up the good work.
RIP Cycle Frontier
RIP I had some fun with that game
@@MillsFPS Yeah it's pretty sad to see. Hopefully they can pull off the phoenix move again.
I find it funny that the fps genre is hitting their lowest when, the fighting game community is hitting their highest with all thos new games
