Just grease all the moving parts. Cold blue new handle to prevent rust, and the main jaw slider.

Instead of welding cast iron, brazing will give a better bond. Also use a torch to heat up both the iron and the steel before brazing.
I’m pretty sure this vise is cast steel not cast iron- also wondering why you didn’t put a pin to lock the main nut in, the hole was there and all ready to go?
Was watching Suprise Restorations on History Channel (Canada) last night and thought that guy looks familiar. Realized it was you. Enjoyed the show. Hopefully you can use the power wagon on the show some time in the future.
Very creative work making the new jaws to fit the oddly shaped Parker surfaces. Your other Parker, the one you use in restoring this one, looks very much like my swivel jaw Parker 272.

I enjoyed your vise restoration. I am confused why you used a nut instead of a steel pin to secure the main nut in the vise body? Also I would refrain from painting machined surfaces because over time the paint will gum up the surfaces that slide against each other. This are minor gripes mind you, I enjoyed the resto greatly! I am a vise fanboy!

Are the holes on the underside of were the jaws are threaded? If so I think they mite be used to affix the jaws to the vise. Nice work man. Glad you are back.
The holes are for pins that go through the jaws.
How did you attach the jaw pads, did you use the original pin holes?

The vise looks a tad heavy so don't drop the old girl on you're toes as you're be hopping mad for day's 😅 sorry couldn't resist that one. Does this return mean you're semi back ? no lube on any of the moving parts except for the spindle ? beating the movable jaw in ? some restoration
