...awesome video as usual! Did I mention that when I went barbless in the last century it was one of my best fishing decisions! Cheers and be safe!

Thanks for watching!I really should try barbless. Do you buy them or crimp a barbed hook? When I catch small fish it’s usually a lot of them but I am afraid if I go barbless I will loose more fish. Do you loose a lot them?

@@thefishingpole5602 ok, so, this is a favourite topic of mine... I have fished for hmmmm 50 years or so and half that time has been "barbless" which involves me taking a pair ot needlenose pliers and crimping the barbs on my plugs, spinners, jigs... some folks wonder aloud "I'm going to loose more fish if I do that!" but I can tell you my landing rate is very very close to what it was when I went "barbed" even on steelhead and smallmouth bass. Of course if we keep the pressure on during the fight, no slack lines like we'd be doing anyway it has little negative effect. Sure, I have lost some fish to going barbless but I am at the point in my fishing career where after a great fight, in the middle of a great fight, he/she won and off they went, providing me excitement. I do it because it crushes my soul a bit when i have fish swallow the lure and see the damage i have done

@@thefishingpole5602 try it out, give it a shot and see what you think, the little guys will thank you and for me i actually have the lure back in action faster which often means more fish because I am not wrestling with trying to get a treble out of a crappie's mouth... again, it was one of the best fishing decisions I have made. All the best and look forward to more videos!

@@Jigger2361 I could not agree with you more. I’ve been fishing too for 50+ years also and I’m at the point where if I want to harvest a fish I don’t mind gut hooking them, but if it’s for fun I feel like I have failed. I will try it in a further video! Thanks for watching and thanks for the advice!
