I' m a fan of all of these guys, 3 champs, 3 WR holders in 1500m, 5K/10K and Marathon.
I have a theory watching them biomechanically: Bekele is a beast but he needed more abdominals to be faster in the last 80mt. He seems to be stronger to pull back terrain than rise up knees. He's not a 100m sprinter ok, but at that level you can't consider that high speed is needed to get first at photofinish... All greats btw.

I love seeing Kipchoge disapproving commentator who usually have preformed judgement on some of the athletes. Kipchoge wins against all odds and against commentator's profiling of their favourite athlete whom they waste time giving them a "face" the whole race
    Kudos Kenyan boy, Kipchoge

Because Hicham is a legend. Kipchoge was still a child when El G was breaking WRs. He probably idolized him.

They're training is almost impossible to do for a normal person. They grew into consistent work of pure effortful long runs and painful speed intervals🔥

certainly one the all-time great 5000 meters. Bekele had to go around the outside in the stretch on the last lap and that cost him maybe a second or two. El Guerrouj was a sportsman of the highest caliber, offering his hand in congratulations to the young Eliud Kipchoge. Who would have predicted that Kipchoge and Bekele would eventually be the greatest marathon runners of the present time?
