Thank you for this idea! I made magnets from small tiles and heat embossed stamped images on them as gifts for Christmas one year. I had to put them in the oven because the heat gun couldn't get them hot enough! lol Ceramic tiles really are durable. Anyway, this would also work awesome with stamped scenes. I'd be careful of the weight of the paper layers with weak magnets if you ever want to use them on the fridge and hold a piece of paper under it, like a notice or something. They will slide down and just not hold. Beautiful for purely decorative purposes, though!!!
Glad you are getting the damage fixed on your house. It really baffles me why people move from safe places to live in places which are dangerous weather wise. Apart from the heat killing me, the hurricanes would give me the nervous system of a hamster !!! I couldn't put myself through that. It's either crazy bravery or sheer madness ! 😂😂😂😂😂
I can tell you from my point of view: I was 12, both parents dead, lived in NY, and the will had me going to live with relatives in Florida. No close relatives anywhere else in the world and I ended up making such close friendships here that I will not leave to move to a environmentally safer state. It's not the hurricanes that get me although they can be VERY scary (Milton - I live in Central Florida) and destructive... but so can snow storms and sleet which was very common in NY where I lived... it's the humidity and heat, and the dang palmetto bugs and red fire ants. The environment in Florida is considered hostile. The environment in NY is not. I used to play with all the creatures in NY, even grass snakes, frogs and toads, and then I got down here and was told to touch nothing. There went my connection to nature. Anyway, TMI I'm sure, but there's always a reason. :)
@@jeannewagner8133 I agree with everything you said. I hope you can re-connect with nature. I live in the UK and we get storms too. We have one coming tonight but ours are tame compared to yours. They still scare me though, they still cause damage and occasionally kill people. There is no reason on God's earth I could or would ever move to a place like Florida. My nerves would be shredded ! All my good thoughts and good wishes though for those that do. 😊
I am a native of west central Florida and was just in the thick of Milton. I also got some TS winds with Helene. I was living in Miami when Andrew hit, so made it through that, luckily with minimal damage. Irma went right over us as a Cat 1. I can’t even count all the ones that were near misses, but still got some bad weather from them. This is all off and on in the last 56 years. I count my blessings everyday….others have not been as fortunate and have lost everything…multiple times. However, I’ve also lived in California (fires, earthquakes, mudslides), Alabama (tornadoes)….needless to say, most places are at the mercy of some kind of natural disaster. We just do the best we can…educate ourselves, stay well-prepared and informed. But most importantly, here in Florida, we enjoy this wonderful state for the great place that it is and the lifestyle it affords us….humidity and all (the occasional TS or hurricane)…😊

Yeah you couldn’t pay me to live in Florida!..the bugs never die you don’t get the four seasons..hurricanes and let’s not forget the sinkholes it’s a swamp too with gators..I’m still so happy for all that are marked safe ❤
We used to get phonebooks every year, and there was a thin magnet “ business card” on the front. I would keep them and use them in craft projects. Or decorate and make them pretty for the fridge. I am looking forward to seeing how you use these in the journal! I thought maybe envelope or flip out closures! The sky is the limit!
Im using paper shape punches to cut out images to make relatives custom magnets for Christmas I can't afford to buy gifts this year but this craft is frugal and fun
I've got to say that of all the hurricanes I've been through Milton has been the worst. We had yard debris and the screen door to my lanai broke. Otherwise made it through the storm fine. Was without power for 5 days and internet for 7. I need to head to your side of the state and check out the cemetery my parents are buried at.
