Thank you so much for this sew along! I learned a lot doing this with you! Yours turned out gorgeous! All I need to do is the hemming of the sleeves and the dress!
Hello Liz, thank you so much for making this series on how to sew the Charlie Caftan. I have made view A. Your instructions were so valuable when doing the centre front bodice panel, ( mine still isn’t perfect), along with the rest of the dress. Once again thank you. I have recommended this series to my sewing friends . Happy sewing 🧵
Thank you Denise 😊. I’m so glad you like it. Will you give this project a try? The summer is coming! Kira the cat is asleep on me now, she says thank you very much 🐈 xx
Thank you so much for this series. You provided very clear and easy to follow instructions - thank you! I’m excited to start sewing my first Charlie caftan!
Thank you very much for sharing your Charlie Caftan tutorial. I am a visual learner so your tutorial was on point. Your calm voice and sharing the 'why' and 'this is what you should see' really helped me. I have updated my notes on this make and will be stay stitching the neckline first thing next time. :) This is the 2nd pattern I sewed from this Canadian pattern house. Their website has a great blog on the Charlie Caftan but I needed the visual for certain spots.
I just got this pattern & made the toile.... but now that I have seen your tutorial, I know the dress will be lovely. So detailed & pointing out the "why" this method is used.... thank you so much!
Thank you Shirley. This is such a lovely dress to wear all summer long. I hope you have fun making yours. Thank you for watching and please do consider Flying Bobbins when you next need some fabric, or Haberdashery 💓💓💓 Liz
You are absolutely brilliant. I have just ordered a kit from your website; thank you for the 10% first order discount 😀. I cannot wait to follow along with you to make my first Charlie Caftan.
When I saw the pattern I didn’t like the look of it. However wow! it turned out really nicely. It looks lovely on you. Just goes to show getting the fabric right makes all the difference. Another great video Liz, I learnt loads
@@FlyingBobbinsTutorials No not at the mo. I’m still very new to sewing. I am making my Grand daughter a dress. I did however make the Stevie dress for my daughter. I also made her a jumpsuit. Which didn’t turn out too bad. However I am having a hard time with the tunic type top she wanted me to make for her. The neck line aah, Ive taken it off 6 times and cant get it right. 😠
@@paulinemcleggan7585 oh dear, that sounds frustrating. Try stay stitching the neckline first if you haven’t done so already. To eliminate stretch. Best of luck. It’s a learning curve. I’m sure you’ll get there 😊
What a great sew along, this dress is my next project for next week and i can't wait to make it ! thank you very much for your tutorial ! Btw you are beautiful in this dress ! Greetings from France
Hi, I am about to begin this project and i am a complete novice. The video is super helpful! I wondered if there was a video to help with the hand stitching the front rectangle as i am unsure of exactly what I am meant to do…?
Hello Amy, thank you for your comment. If you press all sides of your second rectangle of fabric in by 1cm. Then place on top of the other rectangle on the inside of the dress to cover the area where you turned the first rectangle through. Then use a hand sewing needle to catch the rectangle in place all the way round the edge. You want your stitches to be hidden from the front, so stitch through the inside rectangle, and then just catch a little fabric from the dress to secure it in place with each stitch. I hope that helps. Good luck with your dress x
Beautiful caftan. Looks lovely on you. Thank you so much for the sew along. It is very helpful. I already had the pattern cut out and was just about to cut the fabric, thought I just check to see if there were any reviews etc.
@@FlyingBobbinsTutorials I have found every one of your tutorials to be wonderful and have now sewn along with you on 3 of them. You are a great teacher as your instructions are so clear and concise.
