“I tried” is one of the best rap songs I’ve heard in a minute. Easily best song on the album for me.

The hook on VEX is haunting and I absolutely love the closing verse it sounds sinister as all hell I absolutely don't understand how so many people didn't latch onto it
With the music video it’s pretty cool but ngl on the CD it’s pretty skippable

Slowthai represents the gritty unpolished reality of what normal life is and I love him for it. Especially in Britain he represents a movement amongst youth of discontent and anger at peoples situations in which they found themselves in. It is interesting hearing an American's interpretation on this album, his lyrics may sometimes be basic but for the large part what he represents and the production value of his music is right now unparalleled for me. Big up Slowthai..
8/10 is a perfect score for this album IMO

maybe I'm being too hopeful, but I'm really happy that the track appears to be proper ADHD representation. Instead of the usual "lol i cant focus" type sentiment, the lyrics actually reference RSD, memory problems, addiction, and sleeping problems - some of the lesser known symptoms of ADHD! idk it's just great too see, and it really had an impact on me too

I have pretty severe ADHD and Type 2 Bipolar, your brain is misfiring information at such an alarming rate, there’s no way you’re able to concentrate on anything as you’re so consumed by your own thoughts. I’m on 5 medications, take 12 pills a day. So yeah I know you say it can be debilitating...you really don’t know though what it’s like. So a blanket statement saying 99% of people saying it’s cool...I think you mean some people just throw the term around loosely, much like OCD. I think it’s great when artists give you a real insight on the thought process, novels like Ulysses venture into that also.
Not having a go, I’m sure you mean well. But saying a few people you might know or see on the internet just use it to be lazy, that’s a severe minority my friend. I wouldn’t touch on the subject personally unless you have proper facts. Anyway, no ill will, just read into it more.

On the first listen Playing With Fire was my clear cut favorite. But I keep coming back to adhd. That song hits my soul different.
This was my most hyped album of the year and I am not disappointed at all. That second disk is especially breathtaking. Slowthai is so incredible with both manic energy and lyricism. I'm only made more excited for his future work.

I interpreted the phone call and last verse on adhd a little different. It feels like he’s calling/reaching out to a friend. It’s almost a cry for help but the reaction from this friend seems to be very underwhelming. He didn’t get the comfort he desperately needed from this friend which results in the explosive (and depressing) last verse. Very emotional track and my favorite on the album.
thats exactly what is it is. Hes reaching out to a friend, seemingly in desperation, and the friend opts to take another call after thai opens his heart.
