    Listen I never comment on videos but for this one I have to. I took it to a shop that specializes on AC and was quoted 1600$ because to fix the issues I neeeded to get a “new AC compressor and condenser”.I googled the issue my TL was having and goggle suggested me to watch this video. A trip to parts authority and $11.98 later my AC was working as if was brand new. My brotha you the man! You save me $1,588.01 to be exact and for that I thank you🙏

    I've been driving since 1965. In the last 25 years, so much attention has been devoted to diagnostics and that's great. The "shotgun" approach is for amateurs. You're an auto physician.

      So what other approach do you recommend I was thinking that it was just a hose that I wouldn't need to replace for like $3

    Great troubleshooting, some mechanics out there would have just replaced the compressor and still charge the customer for it after finding out that wasn't the problem.

    • @scientist100
      @scientist100 4 года назад +3

      @@chrismechanic2000 you're forgetting that pro mechanics (when diagnosing correctly) would recommend an AC condenser, receiver dryer, expansion valve, PAG oil and AC refrigerant as well as refill. This will cost you an arm and a leg.

    honda tech here, literally my process for "A/C INOP" swap relays (and shake the compressor clutch relay) , check pressures, check for power at the compressor clutch, thanks for the share, kinda wish you would have given it a shake, its fun hearing a relay sound more like a maraca lol

    This video likely saved me hundreds of dollars, that I otherwise would have had to spend to have someone else diagnose this very simple issue. I fixed the A/C on my 2010 Acura TL with the installation of a $22 relay! Awesome, thanks!

    I want to thank you for diagnosing my issue. While replacing that fuse I discovered the car had a knockoff fuse on it. Put a new fuse in just like you did and my A/C was good to go! We'll see how it does over time but I'm pretty confident that was the culprit.

    Love your troubleshooting skills!!!! You explained perfect! Excellent teacher!! I diagnosed a bad blower motor resistor. Customer complaint was the AC stopped working. No air flow. I did all of my testing and eliminated all components. Really thought it was blower motor but was not. Expensive resistor. I checked and checked. Double checked. I was little nervous because I’m still learning. Keep making videos!! Hope your leg doing well.

Great job.❤ also, I want to add. I love the fact that you actually fix the problem by diagnosing correctly I don’t like mechanics that fire parts cannon at the problem until it’s repaired. I’ve had that experience even at the dealer.

    Great video!! I already gave it a THUMBS UP! One thing though. I would rather use an INCANDESCENT test light in this case for two reasons. One: if a relay is bad but it's giving a weak voltage a probe would give a false positive, but an incandescent light would LOAD the circuit, and so give a more accurate reading. In this case the compressor clutch was loading the circuit, but what if it's not plugged? And two: if your testing the leads at the relay and if by deliberate action or error, you inject a positive voltage with the probe to the control lead of the relay while the PCM is giving a negative voltage, you would fry the PCM's internal driver. I've seen many guys cook PCMs this way with a power probe. The test light would have been a safer option. And works just as good. Something to look out for with those power probes. Greetings from Austin !

Swap the a/c relay with another of same type and see if a/ c works ...easy peasy

    I really hope you see this comment, so I changed my relay fuse, Freon tested the pressure in low line it’s good but when I turn on the ac the fan engaged but never the clutch so after everything I was assuming the compresor. But then I turn the ac off like mode then right back on an the fan didn’t engage nor the clutch an I kept trying to get the fan to come back on never did until I turn the car off and then back on and the fan came back on but again if I click the ac on then off it won’t come back on so could it be wiring/ ground issue or the compressor in all?
