    Wow, great video. You made it look easy, I feel confident going into diag' on my silverado. Having an intermittent issue with mine where even jumping the pressure switch won't engage the clutch

    Great explanation, my AC was working fine and just up and quit while I was sitting at work. Im hoping it's not the compressor but Im not gonna hold my breath. The clutch is not engaging at all and I've ran Honda the self diagnostic test but got no error.

      It's 391.00 just for the compressor and 501.00 for the compressor and drier and kit

      If the systemn is open for along time then yes, or you don't have a away to properly vacuum the system for at least 30 minutes, also yes replace the dryer.

    We had trouble with a 2002 Century ac clutch not engaging and a clutch fuse blowing when clutch is manually engaged via where ac relay plugs in. Also if clutch coil power is disconnected and ac is turned on the fuse didn't blow. Also the old coil tested at only 2.5 ohms resistance. I understood under three may indicate coil is going bad. I'm attempting to reinstall a new coil and clutch now. Refrigerant lines still connected to compressor. Coil is being a pain to get pressed back on in absence of special tool.

    Great video, the a/c clutch on my type-s won’t actuate at all. I am following your steps and am not getting a reading for ohms on that connector, it does get voltage. I tried jumping the compressor and it doesn’t work. Any ideas?

    Awesome video Donny! Very well explained.
    Did the replacement compressor resolve the issue? If so, do you think it was just the friction plate not engaging when overheated?

    • @Donnythelatemodeltech
      @Donnythelatemodeltech  2 года назад +1

      Yes the new compressor did resolve the issue. And most likely could of just replace the clutch assembly and it probably would have fixed it, but, no risk with a new compressor.

    • @stardustsparklin4867
      @stardustsparklin4867 2 года назад +1

      @@Donnythelatemodeltech Thanks for the reply! Yeah, exact same issue here. I'm trying to avoid the compressor replacement and refrigerant evac. At that point I should replace most of the AC system components as well. 🙄 Economically it's a small risk to only replace the clutch assembly, bearing, and stretch belt. And I THINK I can manage getting the clutch assembly off and out without obstruction issue (2007 Mazda 3). I just hope it resolves the problem. I'm 95% certain (mechanic confirmed) replacement of the compressor would completely resolve it, but I'm attempting to save time and $. Famous last words though, right?

      UPDATE: Replaced just the compressor coil, bearing, and plate ($50). And she's blowing cold again. 😊
      Hopefully for a long time. Thanks @Donny!

    I have a 2004 RSX and when gets warm the compressor will shut off and on. When I open the hood it mostly turns on. Like it's getting to hot inside engine compartment.

    • @bobbydelamar606
      @bobbydelamar606 Год назад +1

      The compressor has been replaced. And the alternator, because I read if they fail and heat up, it could trip the thermo sensor on top of compressor. It's driving me crazy. No codes, but I haven't done the AC control head self check.

    It was 80 degrees yesterday…i turned on the ac and it blew MILD cold for about 1 minute before it blew ambient temp. I turned off and on the ac 6-7 times before the AC functioned normally. Ice cold the rest of the 35 minute drive home.
    Could you give me an idea what could
    Be going on?

    On my 2007 Accord, the AC doesn't work and the self-diagnostics say the blender motor is open-circuit. It's a single-control system. I know the blender motor is working because I can change the temperature. I checked the relays also and no problem. I think the computer refuses to engage the AC because the sensor falsely says the blender motor is open-circuit. Anyone know the fix?
