I was the same age as Tiffany, 15. This takes me back. I loved her, she still sings and is very beautiful 🌹
Me too!
I was about 16 when this came out (by Tiffany) around 1986. Back when performers could draw a crowd with their clothes ON. Had a thing for Tiffany. 😘😂
I was 19 when this song came out. The song was about young love. Tiffany had to do her Mall Concerts because she was too young to play in clubs when she released this song. Thanks for the flashback!
I saw her back in the 80's when she was doing her "Mall Tours" #MyTeenYrs #WoodfieldMall #Illinois
Awesome!
What was that like? Did you need tickets? How did they get her out after? Were people still shopping? So many questions...lol
#illinois #dontcometorockford
It's a cover of a song from 1967, by Tommy James and The Shondells
Tommy James was really talented, Crimson and Clover was also covered by Joan Jett and his song Mony Mony was covered by Billy Idol.
I was just about to say that.
Thank you for noting that these were all covers - well done, yes, but covers none the less!
I love the original. I swear my ears were bleeding when this version came around (I had a 12 year old sister and law and she played it over and over)
Oh now we're really getting into the sounds of my childhood! Before Britney, we had Debbie Gibson & Tiffany... Check out "Could've Been" by Tiffany when you can #vocals & #nostalgia
1987. I was 16. Loved this song right from the first time I heard it. This brings back so many memories.
If you enjoyed this, watch the video from Umbrella Academy where the characters dance to this song. It's amazing.
That was the scene that made me fall in love with the show!
Is it just another kids with powers and the girl is the most powerful...type show?
And watch Tiffany's 2020 remake of the song. Still hot as heck. One of my first celeb crushes.
@@aaronbarlow4376 season 1 kinda is
Season 2 is what the show should have been from the start, but season 1 has enough likeable characters and mysteries to be able to stomach some of the cringey parts and the slow pacing
I like that episode, that one reminded me this song.
This song could apply to a young courting couple who aren't really supposed to be alone without a chaperone until they are married 😝
In '79 my sister and I went to see Rex Smith sing 'You Take My Breath Away' at Lansdowne Mall. He was on the roof and the crowd was outside. So cheezy now to think about it.
I was the same age as Debbie and Tiffany. Ah the bubblegum pop days. Love the 80s!
I was 7 when this song was released. She was 15 when she first performed this song.
Tiffany Renee Darwish : born October 2, 1971, she is still performing now infrequently I would have been 13 she was 15 when this cover came out
I was 16 years old when this song was released in 1987. I loved it because it had a great dance beat. My mom broke my heart when she told me it was remake! ☹️☹️ Tiffany’s story is heartbreaking.
I was 12 years old when this song was released by Tiffany in 1987... it was her debut single and was actually a cover song ... the original version was by Tommy James and the Shondells from the year 1967 ... Tiffany's only other big hit was a Beatles cover called I Saw Him Standing There ... also from her first album
I was 17; I had her album and it was actually quite good, there were a few hits on it and most of the songs were quite catchy. The mall tours publicity scheme got her some recognition but also kinda backfired as she wasn't taken very seriously as an artist because of it, but she is very talented.
One of my favorites back then. She was only 15 when this came out. I remember thinking she and Debbie Gibson both were so good and both so young...I was 20 when this came out.
I think Tiffany was 16 when this song come out. This song is a cover of Tommy James and The Shondells song from 1967.
She was 15 when the song was released but it got to number one just after her 16th birthday
YAASSS!!! Please react to Martika- Toy Soldiers! You’ll love it!
I was 11 when this came out. I now feel old knowing this information. Hahaha
Yes please
Yes please..... its supposed to be about drug use.
I was 5 years old when this song by Tiffany came out
I would have been 8. I remember hearing this on my alarm clock. My brother has that clock still in the shop.
The character Robin Sparkles from How I Met a your Mother is basically based on her.
OMG, Robin Sparkles was so awesome. I feel like we need sitcoms to be like they used to be.
So, brother, I had to comment. I've been really upset this weekend. I lose a dear friend on New Year's Eve 2020. But your cheerfulness and smile helped bring a smile to my face.
Also, the friend I lost, I havent seen since the early '90's but Tiffany's hair reminds me of my friend's, although she was brunette.
And her name was Tiphanie.
Rest in peace, Tiphanie. I'll love you forever.
I was 17 and the was a HUGE song. Brings back great memories of crushing around with friends
I can't hear this song anymore without wanting to sing Weird Al's parody lyrics "I Think I'm A Clone Now". You should also check out the original 1967 version of this song by Tommy James & The Shondells. It's pretty lit for it's time.
Tiffany was born in 1971 so she was 16 when this song came out in 1987! I was 20 when this song came out! I saw Tiffany in concert at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg , Virginia in 1988! I live in Virginia Beach. In December I'll be 54, boy am I getting old!
1987. I was 3. It always reminds me of the full house episode where Joey let's the girls stay up late to watch it on tv and Danny walks in. 😂 so funny.
I had a big crush on Tiffany when I was a kid. I listened to this song a lot back in the day.
I loved that "oh shit" moment when you realized what song it was.
My first concert at age 12. She was at the state fair and New Kids on the Block was her opening act before they got big. Man you are taking me back. 😆
Me and Tiffany were 8 months apart in age and I got to talk to her back in the day on a radio show called open house party hosted by John garabedian . And I got to ask her a question. I was so in love with her I just thought she was amazing. I still like her music and her voice and I watch her videos and think of fond memories of the past.
I was 16 when it came out. I have always loved it.
I was 20 years old when this song came out! Lol! Where has the time gone?! This song still sounds as good as it did when it came out!
I was 16 when this came out...brings back some good memories
Wasnt even born when this song came out my mom used to play it when i was growing up
Tiffany's version of the song came out the year before I was born. She was about 16 when the song was released. And yes I agree with the Bella Thorne mom comment Billy! I re-watched this about 2 weeks ago after Tim from Home Free sang the main line at the end of the Behind the Scenes video (availble on Patreon) to their Down to the Honkytonk song.
Hahaha, I was 5 years old when Tiffany's version came out in 1987 and I loved it.
Now as for the original 😂, I wasn't even a concept because my mother was only 2 years old when the original was released in 1967.
Tiffany Darwish was born in 1971. This cover was released in 1987, making her either 15 or 16 years old at the time.
I was living in Southern California I was 27 when this song and video was released... I remember watching this on MTV ... Wow. Alright I am officially Old...
I was 15 when Tiffany's cover came out... boy this makes me feel so old. lol
I was 4 when this song came out lol but it was still popular when I was old enough to sing and dance to it. brings back some good memories! haha
80s kids remember the mall tours and her going on tour with New Kids on The Block. All the young girls of America wanted to be her. It was crazy, and so much fun too as a kid.
At the somber time before a funeral, 5 dysfunctional step children reunite for the first time in years. Another is there in spirit. They can't enjoy their time together due to their issues, but they all come together in a single bond, over a 15 Year Old girl singing "I Think We're Alone Now" on an old record.
You have made my week with a Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. Check out Tiffany’s Radio Romance
I saw her on the Mix Tape tour last summer with New Kids, Debbie Gibson, Salt N Peppa and Naughty by Nature ❤️❤️❤️ looooved it!!
Ultimate '80's. Concerts in malls. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was 10. It was everywhere, late summer of 1987, as I was heading into 5th grade. It was my jam.
This song was released in 1967 by Tommy James and the Shondells!😲💯 It was a #1 hit for them too. This song came out my sophomore year in high school, we rocked it at the sock hops in the gym!😂🤣 Your from TEXAS 🇨🇱 bro'? I was raised in Boerne, spent 33 years in Austin and now live in Phoenix. Still a TEXAN 🇨🇱 through and through no matter where I am!😁❤️✌️
I was 16 and never knew she was doing mall tours until I stumbled onto one....Instant crush on the cute ginger
I was 17 and it was on the radio and MTV everyday forever
Tommy James version was in 1967 and 15 year old Tiffany's version was in 1987.
This is a remake. I remember dancing to this with my friends. Saw her in concert back in the late 80's when NKOTB opened for her in Portland, Maine. Oh how time flies.
I am the same age as Tiffany. I think it was her manager that came up with the idea of performing at the mall, because she was too young to perform at clubs and bars. She would sing a few songs and then do autographs at record stores. Half way through the tour this song became popular and eventually hit #1, and so that's why in the video the malls were packed. Her record of being the youngest singer to have a #1 hit (she had two actually) is still unbroken.
4 years old when it was released and I was introduced to it at 9 when I got a Home Alone walkman because it was on the tape that came with it.
I was 4 years old and I remember this song. Can't help it I have nostalgic love for this song.
I love her. Some other songs i like by her are: Could've been, All this time, Here In My Heart, Hold An Old Friend's Hand.
I personally liked her song Danny.
I was 9 when it came out and still to this day when she sings “night” makes me smile.
I wasn't born til '93 but my dad had a thing for red heads so had Tiffany, Cyndi Lauper and T'Pau playing a lot
My sister used to play a cassette tape of Tiffany over and over again. I was about 9 at the time it came out. My sister was about 6.
I was 21 when this song was covered by Tiffany. And, going to art school.
11 in 85 I believe that's when it came out. Also check out the original by Tommy James and the shondels
This came out in 1987. So I was 19. The song is about sneaking off and doing the horizontal boogie. She was 16 in there.
It's done originally by Tommy James and the Shondells but I knew this version since I was kid just recently found out it was a cover done by TIFFANY
I was 32 with 3 kids and a grandson so this was playing in my house constantly....LOL
The song come out in 1987, I was 16! Had her poster and Debbie Gibson's poster on my wall.
Check out Denice Williams let's here it for the boy from the footloose sound track
One of my all time favorites!
1 of my all time favorites.
Yes!
I was 7 or 8 brings back memory. Tiffany could only do mall tours cause of her age and producer didn't think she would not last in the music biz
I saw her live in the day, I think this should be the anthem of 2020
Tiffany did her first tour in shopping malls in 1987.
This song was featured in a horror movie "The Strangers: Prey at Night" and brought in a creepy factor to this song lol. Kind of freaks me out lol but was also featured in Netflix's The Umbrella Academy. Also in the movie Ted
I was 9 when this song came out. I look back now on some of the things I used to listen to and I'm shocked my mom let me listen to it. Lol
Wow! Takes me back and in the beginning of the song, she says they were always under watch. It's about 2 teens
I was 18. It was the year I graduated high school. Class of '87 is the best!
She was 16 when she did the sing
Fun song from my childhood (I was eight when it came out), but its use in The Umbrella Academy was what really made me love it. Just a perfect scene. I think Tiffany was 16 when the song came out, by the way, so you weren't far off. Heh.
My mom always denies this but I'm pretty sure she named me after Tiffany. I remember being around 11yo and rocking out to this (i was young and didn't know what the meaning of the song was) and 'johnny's got the inside moves' on cassette 🤓😅
Dude.. i was drooling over her when i was a teenager.
via wikipedia -
"I Think We’re Alone Now″ was re-popularized when American pop singer Tiffany covered the song when she was 15 for her eponymous debut studio album, which was released in 1987 on the MCA Records label.
So yeah.. she was underage at the time. lol
Tiffany was 15-16 in this video. She voiced the daughter in the movie cartoon "The Jetsons".
I was -8 when this song came out. But I love 80s music. 👍
I was 7 when this version of the track came out in August 1987......
Also, to put it politely, the song is actually about teenage couples wanting to take their relationship "all the way" and having to keep it secret or risk enraging their elders, clue is in the lyrics "children behave, that's what they say when we're together, and watch how you play", "look at the way we gotta hide what we're doing, cos what would they say if they ever knew", think about it haha, the chorus refers to them finally being alone and able to go all the way ;)
I had A HUUUUGEEE crush on Tiffany back in the day. I was like 10 I think... born in 78
Tiffany said she hated this song and her label said "let's just see how it sounds " and her label put it out.
The mall's got them exposure and they would sometimes do autographs in the main record stores - usually after
The original came out in the 1960s by Tommy James & The Shondells. Tiffany was 16 or 17 years old when she released her version in 1987. I had a crush on Tiffany in the day. I'm into redheads.
Tiffany did a remake of this song 2019, that I recommend doing a reaction to, just to see how much she has grown. Just do a search for Tiffany - Think We're Alone Now - 2019.
Tiffany and Debby Gibson was in a cheesy Syfy horror movie together in 2011. It was called "Mega Python vs Gatoroid".
Omgosh, singing along before it even starts. One of my old favorites!! But by Tommy James and the Shondells. ❤️
I was 1yr when this song came out .. but I grew up w/ this song & also the 1967 version !! I also remember Mall Tours, I saw Britney Spears & Hanson
My mom saw the cast of BVH90210 ( original )
tiffany dated one of the members of New Kids On The Block & I remember hearing that their female fans were kinda mean to her & would pull hair ?? ( if I'm remembering correctly ?)
5 at the time of this release. Was in the middle of moving off the farm that got turned into a refuge.
I was 11 and now 43. She was 15/16. She isn't the first person to sing this song. She did the mall tour. Look up her remake 2019 version of this song.
She is not the original singer but her up beat version made her like an overnight success
I was 7 when this came out. She was... probably 15 or 16 and she was without question my first crush.
Plus I guaran-damn-tee she's the reason I have a thing for redheads as an adult.
i was three haha when her cover came out!
I was 11. Love this song.
I was in my 20s with 2 young sisters in law. It was hell for a year or so. I just turned up the Scorpions and drowned out the bubblegum!
This came out in 1987 and I was 10. Fyi her version was a cover. The original was done by Tommy James and the Shondells
I was 12 when this was a hit. She's one of my crushes then. Not to mention also Debbie Gibson. Check her music videos. She's also cute. Oh well .. damn.. those years
Back in the day I wore this cassette tape out!
I never follow what’s trendy because everything takes time to grow on me. But when I was a kid I remember her and this song was a big thing. I’m thinking between 1988-1992 if I was to guess.
This song had a lot of people doing versions of it at that time ... I think hers is most popular because of her age and her "popness" version of this song ...btw I think I was about 7 or 8 them days
My dad has a home video of me and my cousin running around dancing to this song. I was like 4 maybe 5. Lol
I was 15 when this song came out (the same age as Tiffany (She is 10 months older than me)).
Tiffany and Debbie Gibson were the teen queens of the mid-80’s.
I was 15 when I moved to Ogden Utah and just happened to be in that mall when they were shooting that video. I had the biggest crush on her.
This performance was a cover of a 60s song…I think the original was by Marilee Rush maybe? I was 21 when it was released. 80s glory days!
