Cinefiles, when I was a kid, this show was my only connection to fun and informed movie conversation. Thank you for all the work you guys put into the show. I hope everyone is doing well.
I hate the ending of the mist also, but I really love the shots of the monsters near the end. Very Lovecraftian - so awesome! Wanna check it out in B&W.
@ParadoxProductions1 Not that old, but it's a show from a little while back. We're trying to upload a lot of the older episodes before we get to the new ones as we don't want to sit on them forever.
I loved The Mist, haven't had the chance to watch it in black and white yet though. The ending was a little too much but I think that's why Darabont struggled to get funding as he refused to change the ending. 30 days of night had its moments, but the ending was unnecessary. I haven't seen Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem yet, but the first one was poor, I'm keeping tabs on this new prequel by Ridley Scott, hopefully it will get the franchise back on track. Great show as usual guys.
You know they're releasing 30 Days of Night straight to DVD sequel in October? AvP2 is an interesting failure. They use the word requiem probably because when two top alien killers come to Earth, it's basically the end of the world. Great show as usual.
I would definitely agree with all of you about 30 Days of Night, except I think two stronger leads than Hartnett and George could have offset somed of the script issues.
@ZombiesAteMyArm I like The Relic, but agree with you. When I got the DVD I thought it was a bad transfer. I then got the bluray and then saw it was indeed the way the movie was shot. I like the film a lot, but I think Hyams in trying to hide the creature, shot it way too dark.
@oldmanwhithers Still waiting on the results, but I'm hopeful that I'll win. I'll keep you posted and upload my thoughts on the show if I make it. Again, thanks for everyone who supported me.
@saberous33 We all love the Alien series, so gotta discuss it. I didn't think the movie was good, but got to admire the high level of gore and violence. It's just a shame the script wasn't better. Hopefully, Ridley Scott's relaunch of Alien will be better.
Thanks guys really enjoyed the upload. Has edwin made any leeway on the stooges documentary? Also I thought it was kind of funny that the sequel 'dark days' is a coming soon to dvd and blueray release.
Edwin read the Mist novella in the early 80s before it was published in the Skeleton Crew collection in '85? Sure you weren't busy like getting born and stuff? lol great novella and movie though btw i personally agree with edwin and mike in regards to the marsha gaye harding character; religious fantacism run amok is not at all far-fetched especially in a high-stress environment.
I just thought the ending was ridiculously contrived. Within minutes after the father kills his family the mist clears. What would be the chances of that really happening. Practically nil. What a cheap, disdainful choice for the intelligence and sensibility of the audience is that ending!

Im with you on that note.
Still keep on rewatching episodes everyday. Missing these guys so much.

the ending of the Mist is the best part.
The mist is one of my favorite movies in recent memory.... So, so good.
Frank Darabont was under major pressure from the studio to give it a happy ending and credit goes to him for sticking to his principals!!!

Good Episode! We want more!
AVP Requiem: Filmed in Crested Butte, Colorado. I love Crusty Butt.
The Mist was great. I'd love to see the B&W version.

@Hallinilla9 We'll have to retape that as we had technical difficulties with the tape. Have no fear though, we'll get to it.

@IceCreamSuit It was published in 1980 in the book Dark Forces.
@filmjunkiezach We're uploading a show every two weeks, so look for another then.
i liked the 'mist' book version
this must be quite old if your referring to Quantum of Solace in the future tense. Good ep though.

I hear if you watch The Cinefiles in black & white your kidneys explode!
Good show. Any chance you will upload the Evil Dead show?
How many times does Eric Cohen complain that something is too 'On the nose'.
That's his stock phrase.
did you say sorry to the guy!? after you found out it was dark
@natewheatshelf:
Like Pop Rocks, if you watch our show in black & white WHILE drinking Coke, your stomach will explode.
- Eric
@kanedasrifle He's smoking the ganja. BTW, that's Eric's comment, so Eric is da man.
@cinefiles You mean retape a new discussion alltogether?
AVP Reqiuem was better than the first AVP still shit but smells less.
LOL Rasta Alien!
P.S Foltz is the man.
LOL@"Let's not use the word 'interesting' anymore"

Predictable. Totally changes the story. Once over heard it makes the movie unwatchable, like twists of that order usually do.
@badhead Whatever, nihiliist.
