By the Way album is a masterpiece. There are many great albums out there and sometimes maybe ONE song isn't that good, but on btw EVERY song is pure gold.

@@damesoumbi it was pre-recorded, this studio had a bad run in with a vocalist in the past, so they made a policy, instruments can be live, vocals have to be recorded. It’s not the album version I agree, but it is pre recorded

I'm pretty impressed with Flea on that upright. I wouldn't have guessed he could play that so well. Upright and electric basses are two totally different instruments and he's just dancin around it and gettin down. His intonation is really good and his tone is nice and fat. Awesome playing.

They really are the best band ever. No other band is so devoted and loving and caring for their work as much as Red Hot, its all theyve got. Its so amazing and inspiring every time i listen to them.

Agree 100%. It was tough when you first listen, but now, just like john, i find his early albums gold. They are 2 of my favorite 3 john albums (niandra, smile and to record water). It makes me sad when people just write off smile.. if you go at it with an open mind, its AMAZING.

They are very different but if you know the cords it makes it much more do able.
