    You have been so helpful, but I’m still struggling to find my mix. Other than the puffy cheeks, do you have any tips or exercises to help me find that mixed coordination?

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  5 лет назад +2

      Yes I have tons of exercises!! Sometimes it can be tricky to do it on your own though! Possibly look into getting some lessons with a good coach who teaches similar to me. I might make a video about this soon but I'm not self taught, I have had many mentors, coaches, and maestros that have been fundamental to my ability to sing. There is no shame in getting lessons with a good coach only gain in my opinion.

    Man you are a genius no BS. What sets you apart is that you actually sing great and are really good at explaining in a simple to understand way compared to other Voice Coaches on RUclips
    BTW you have waaaay to fiew subscribers, pro tip, do some "Voice Coach Reacts To" Videos of popular songs and your channel will explode. (Start wit Dimash Kundaibergens S.O.S) Make sure to do an actual analisys though because most "Voice Coaches" just say "WoooooW" and nothing else

    Incredible video Tyler! Another thing to mention is that support is not just engaging your core when you breathe, but also has to do with the way you shape and place your vowels - if you shape or place your vowels wrongly (too wide and splatty or placed in the throat), you are still going to strain no matter how deeply you breathe.
    Your onset affects as well - if you start with a breathy or an excessively glottal onset, it will also not do you good no matter how deeply you try to support the voice.

    • @tylerwysong

      For sure all very valid points there!

    Thank you for your help! I think that I was singing from my throat too much instead of from my throat and with more support too.
    God bless you Tyler! Your voice is awesome and beautiful!

    Hi! I’ve tried the baby cry and the semi occluded exercises but even though I do feel that might be my mix I don’t know how to make it sound way less nasal and ugly, if you could help me with that I would be so thankful!

    This way worked way better for me. But every other videos are saying the stomach should get pushed when you breath in. Which way is correct?

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  5 лет назад

      I do feel my abs engage but I don't consciously engage my abs, it happens as a result of proper posture and cord closure, this of course is just my take on it but I have tried all the other ways and this is what works for me.

      Lessons, exercises... Anything would do. It's also fine if you could just answer this question: My mix voice lacks power and resonance, It sounds okay in a room, but when I go out there to hold a microphone, it just sounds so unreal and light and I end up just using chest voice throughout. What can I do?

    Related question to Posture - I note you perform your teaching video classes sitting down, without any issues , to me. Being a singer-songwriter type musician, I like to play and sing sitting down (ie the likes of James Taylor, and some pianists like Elton John, mostly sing sitting down),which some would say is not the idea position to sing. So, do you have any tips on how to improve your singing technique, if you prefer to sing sitting down? Great vocal channel by the way - learning a lot.

    I found my mix about a month ago and I am struggling with it now
    I didn't have access to my mix voice for about a week becuz I've been too obsessed with my whistles
    Then after that my mix just lost range
    From D5 it shrunken to a A4
    The only powerful note that I can sustain and do is a F4
    Notes above F4 just breaks or cracks
    Is muscle memory involved in these situations?
    Pls I really need help
    I don't want to lose my mix that I've been working on for almost 7 months
    BTW
    The highest note I can belt in chest voice is a C5
    Lowest is a F#2

    Hey Tyler, I have a question regarding an old video. The old video is titled How to sing Mixed voice and you give an exercise that's a siren when you're cheeks are puffed out. My question is does your cheeks have to be constantly puffed out and filled with air in order to do that exercise because I find it hard to keep it puffed up.

    • @tylerwysong
      @tylerwysong  5 лет назад

      Yes the cheeks need to stay puffed out. It's normally for them to deflate slightly as you go up but you can figure out how to do it without the cheeks changing.
