Well, there is a linguistic misunderstanding there on the mother's part. In English, when you say you hate a certain food or cuisine, it doesn't mean you feel hatred towards it - just that you don't like it at all. Similarly, when you love a dish, it just means you like it a lot.
This is my favorite food in the whole world. Incidentally, I can eat the injera by itself. I am an American who is vegetarian. I could eat this food each day of the year.❤❤❤
My children took me to a Korean restaurant, and the food was completely different from what I knew . You get a bunch of vegetables and chickens or beef Bowl with rice and I like it now I go to Korean restaurant at least once a month.
Ehtiopian food is delicious. Only had it once, only had a vague idea of which dish was which that I was eating, but everything was absolutely delicious.
The Best MoM Ever ) you have inspired me to revisit my thoughts and opinion... "What's there to Hate about the food that people eat" Best advice that i cherish forever..KeepOnKeeping Fam. MuchLove&Respect.
Great advice from your mom, how can you hate the food that people eat. I absolutely love Ethiopian food. Strangely, I don't enjoy their staple bread which is gelatin like and a little sour for me. I can scoop everything else into my mouth 😋
This video was cut too short! We need a longer version. Unless she ended up not liking the rest and had a bad time😄 And your mom is a carnivore like me. I always go for the siga wot, been my favorite since childhood
Born and raised in Ethiopia, eating nothing but Ethiopian food day in day out. Lol I now reside in USA; but Ethiopian food is still my meal of choice 90% of the time.
I am Ethiopian and your mom is nice. I think she will ask you to bring her back. Good son. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ one thing 😊I want to say is: In our culture one doesn't reach as far as to other persons side to eat. It is kind of impolite. We pick the food and offer on the friend and family side, if their side goes empty fast Or to try a different varity of food which is only in our side.😊 have fun and keep exploring.
She should eat whatever side she wants because she's eating by herself and those are old rules 😏 nobody followed them anymore especially the diasporas😅
Ethiopian food is far far better than indian food, and far better and healthier than Indian and all other African food. Anyone who try our food should consider themselves lucky. Remember, non of the older generation white or Asians had the chance to try it because we live far apart and we didn't migrate back then, we had good life. Your mom is so lovely 🥰❤ Also there is an old history between Ethiopia and South Korea because our soldiers went there to fight liberating SK I think. We have some small SK community in Ethiopia, they live well.
I must say this woman is the best person to test i have seen so far. Her way of thought, attitude, perception of fine looking yet significant values and her continuous excellent ways to make the food taste good are some i saw. As Ethiopian, I have neer seen peoples esp foreigners roll and balance the injera with the stews that way as experienced do, mix the perfect mix of stew as she discovered as we ethiopians do most times after figuring out. Yet she was excellent by bringing up good point that it being sour made it go with almost every type of the stews .i didnot hear anyone say that from whom i knew personally.
Eating Ethiopian food 101 . . . use your right hand. Do eat with two hands. Make sure you're scooping the wot(stew) with the right side of the injera(fermented bread. that's why it's sour). I see you're holding it upside down. The part with eye is the right side. licking fingers is rude. left hand is used to wipe ass so should stay away from the platter.
I love that philosophy - What's there to hate about the food that people eat? I can just choose to eat the things I enjoy. Your mom is fantastic.

This lady is very inteligent person!
Open minded !
에티오피아 음식을 먹어주셔서 감사합니다.🇪🇹🇰🇷✌🏻
Mama is smart. She knew immediately how the sourish taste of injera creates balance with the various dishes.

Arirang 1 and Arirang 2 - Two Korean restaurants in Addis. Enjoys a lot of Ethio and Expat customers. The owner is a Korean Lady....
Usually, you’ll get hot towels (I like to ask for hot water also) for cleaning your hands!

PLEASE TRY SOMALI FOOD!!!
Mom was brave to try something so unfamiliar. What was her rating? From her faces, I think 7.5 if you don’t count the chicken.😅
