Blight is Actually Strong as Hell - 15 Games in a Row

- There were a couple of annoying maps / situations but overall I feel like people are massively underselling the Blight. He is one of my favorite killers at the game at the moment, so here's 3 hours of Blight.
/ scottjund - Игры
Scott must like Blight because of his similarities to Oni. He runs fast, smacks people with a stick and has an obession with a liquid
Obsession with liquid... Hmm... 😝
That last bit describes me!
And both roars
Liquids?
also oni has a cane as well (add-on)
Finally, a killer who can gen rush.
Yeah he’s fun
Brilliant.
Beerus nurse is bonkers when u play them right. Plus it’s kinda unfun to play against one
@@Herman_Hedning She can gen blink, but that's different.
Someone really can’t take jokes
Compound 21: Activated by slamming which is super easy, reveals informative surv auras for 6 seconds within 16 meters. Is a rare addon.
Iridescent family crest: Activated by missing a demon slam which wastes oni's power, reveals buggy scream bubbles, within 12 meters. Is an ultra rare.
Bhvr balance logic
Edit: Compound 21 also gives 100 bp on revealing a surv aura
I can’t tell if they WANT red and purple to not be the best addons... or they just don’t understand what makes an addon strong??? I mean they have to understand infinite aura reading is OP right? It makes 105% speed Myers strong
The best part about Oni's UR addon is that you can't even (unless they changed it) bonk into walls and stuff, you have to literally slam the ground which jerks your camera down a bunch and makes it even harder to do on some maps.
Don't forget the hellshire iron, which shows the aura of survivors in your terror radius when you have someone speared, except you can't look around while reeling, and slinger has a small base TR, and monitor is his best perk.
I'm still bewildered by the fact that in the ptb it WAS an ultra rare and they lowered it. Like, someone looked at it, looked at the ptb data, and was like "this dum tho"
Iridiscent Family Crest: After landing a successful demon strike, the auras of all survivors revealed for 6 seconds. There, it now has a use and replaces infectious
Scott at first: Blight is underpowered
Scott then: Blight is very balanced but interesting, just a couple bugs
Scott now:
By at first so you mean PTB? Because he was underpowered with the double stun.
Ethan Deister right but the OP made it seem like Scott was odd for changing his opinion. That’s what smart people do
He bounces more than the new killer lmao
Shitpost Crusader Lol made my morning
He’s still pretty balance need a good player to do good
Said it once, gonna say it again.
Give him a wizard outfit.
Pinball wizard.
I’m waiting for a shark outfit for Blight.
I’m sertastarsrrraeraearrarara
S
1:07:40 “damn that was the first hit in like 8 seconds”
That was exactly 8 seconds, Scott’s internal clock is on point, Jesus
I don’t know if anyone else had find this yet but the compound 21 still gives you points for revealing survivors in lockers, but won’t show their aura
I got two survivors in lockers thanks to that!
Poisson Sumac it was really confusing at first because no one was showing up but I figured it out
Every game I played against him, smol rocks and bits of debris really counter his power
That's going to change as people start to master him. He's a chase nightmare when played well.
@@williamnoble1 You cant change random shitty hitboxes. You can play as well as you like, still going to get cucked by the game, same way Nurse is still shit on Midwhich because of all the dead zones
@@williamnoble1 yeah that's a lie. I can already tell you that as long as you have any kind of object to get behind you'll never get hit by his power. Like literally even if you catch someone out in the open with no cover it then becomes a guessing game of which way they are going to turn because there's no tracking them if they juke in any direction
@@DarthRane113 Sure, but then you have no distance at all. Not getting hit by the rush is still you probably losing the chase. Not to mention no one has any real time on him and no optimized perks. He's going to land high B low A tier as a killer.
@@williamnoble1 Ill agree with you there but when I use a killers ability I want to use it for downs not just to force a bad spot. Right now I feel like his ability is only good for forcing bad positioning. Which is just lame
I just wish his camera wasn't so damn low to the ground. It makes tracking way harder than it needs to be.
Literally my only complaint about him and also CORN
ya but the flip side is he can be hard to see around loops
JoJos HoHo I don’t think so man, the character itself is tall, but the camera is small. :(
@@Constellation96VR true
Welcome to 2021. Blight is 4’ 2” anymore!
Fingers crossed they don't gut him a week later for whatever reason and stitch him back together, like with Oni
yeah because oni being able to 180 to hit you wasnt broken at all
@@Svenss and it was better when he couldn't turn 90 degrees? They broke and ruined him for a bit with that.
@@ap001209 oni needed the 180 lunge nerf though, the actual killer was the turn reduction it had for a while
@@VenclaireVR Never argued that. But changing it so he couldnt even turn 90 was a horrible solution that broke him for a while. The biggest problem i have with Blight now is that he cant turn for shit and people can 360 you so fucking easily if they know what they are doing, He should atleast have a 90 degree lunge aswell, i see no reason to keep it as it is. Oni can turn 90 and he can fucking instadown, Blight cant (without addons)
@@ap001209 well i see how how he could use a turn buff but the main disadvantage with him in comparison to blight is he has a crappy start game but not as bad as myers.
The hook bug is gamebreaking
I already fell victim to that by losing a survivor to hatch😂
It wouldn’t be a dbd update without game breaking bugs.
If you have the time, then swing if it's not working. Works for me every time
I've lost three survivors to it and would have lost a fourth if not for a kind Nancy who decided to stop wiggling whilst I struggled. It's like the devs put a patch note on that reads "Fixed a bug which allowed Killers to always hook Survivors if they get the prompt to do so". It's fucking ridiculous how these devs keep breaking this game every single fucking time.
What is the Hook Bug?
Tinkerer on blight is really strong rn, they have absolutely no chance at completing the gen before you reach it, and most of the time ruin is enough to regress it back below 70% so tinkerer will trigger again.
Blight might unironically be my favourite killer to watch gameplay of, it's so entertaining seeing people successfully chain his dashes together and landing the hits.
Should've called this video "Scott's love letter to Compound 21"
But i didn't use it the majority of these games :/
While I agree that Midwich (or as I have dubbed it, Midbitch) is boring as hell and generally just aids to play on, I'd say it's pretty much easy mode for Blight with his "Compound 21" and "Compound 33" addons. Can't find anyone? Hit a wall and look around, you'll most likely see an aura. Too many doors blocking your way? Just slam your head into it like the crackhead in the McDonald's drive through trying to break in through the window. 3 pallets in 1 ****ing room? Who cares? Just yeet at it and you'll instantly be on their ass again. I literally got a perfect game on my first try with those addons and I'm pretty sure atleast one person had small pp build so take that as you will.
You have to take into account that survivors (like myself) do not read all the desc before. I learned in the game what compound 33 does and failed miserably. I learned what 21 does after a game when my mate and i asked us why he always knew where we were lol. There will be more counterplay coming with time. You can't really judge now how good he really is. But i also think he's strong when played well
@@vi5e0gam3r5 Of course it still sucks. But it sucks moderately less with those two addons. It gets rid of the two main things that makes it sucks: all the pallets, and how hard it is to find people. Atleast that's how I see it
@@vi5e0gam3r5 i get the whole long corridor thing but Blight don't give a shit about your long corridors, lol. Just slam into the lockers or the benches every so often and you'll be zooming for a booming the whole game. That coupled with the fact that you can see people through walls makes it so you see everyone everywhere without even trying (atleast in my experience with the addon)
@@vi5e0gam3r5 I know. I'm admitting that it's annoying to play on. I personally just find it less annoying with that specific killer using those specific addons
I really hope they buff his lunge at some point. It's incredibly easy to avoid unless you're in a choke point. Any survivor that knows how to 360 can completely gimp his power. The Blight should at least get something similar to current Oni, where he can lunge 90° in either direction. I believe that would alleviate a lot of the frustrations that people have while playing him.
Beyond the bugs and annoyances, this is a pretty cool update. Badham and Yamaoka look amazing and run surpsingly well on console (at least for me). I'd love it if they stopped making maps for a solid year, and just focus on reworking old maps.
If he could lunge 90 degrees he’d be pretty op
Don't start the lunge in his power when you are right next to the survivor. Do it a bit early. You have enough momentum during your power lunge to still make the distance but you will have more control over your turning and will be able to catch them.
If they gave him an oni flick he'd be absolute ass to play vs coz it's hard to juke a decent blight as it is.
He would be broken with 90 degrees in either direction. If you were good at him you would know that
@@jasminepie6045 exactly!
@@Xoilen He was released yesterday, he can't be good yet, stop hating pls.
I bought blight recently and looking at the old perspective compared to the new is crazy
I've faced the hook bug, and it has just been a matter of spamming the hook button until they got put on the hook
I think you can also drop them and pick them back up
I ended up literally inside a locker when I was legion because a similar bug is messing with that interaction too. It made me have to spam the button to open it but I ended up inside it.
Do one m1 swing in the air then you can hook them
Sometimes tapping and then holding the button works.
I've been playing him a bunch on console, hes really fun to play I just wish I could swing straight after an impact with an object and not have to use a rush or wait for him to inject himself with liquid anger
You can, but it's tricky. Face the direction you wanna swing, tyen start your charge and swing at the same time. It's really good against weirdos who sprint right at you.
bruh use a little common sense. If you could instantly attack from a rush without hitting a wall, Blight would be too overpowered. It's like a demogorgon without a charge time, and hitting wall redirects yourself. Furthermore, his ability gives him so much mobility between locations, so he already has what most killers don't.
Royce Pu if you read better you will see he says right after impact. He just means he wants to be able to hit while you are between smashes instead of using another token and then hit the attack button
@@pspeasant6220 oh shit whoops. Looks like I'm lacking common sense here.
he does not feel strong at all, but i’m on console and just got to play him today
he seems really really hard to play on console. sorry man
Played vs 2 console Blights today and I felt genuinely bad for them. All I had to do was move slightly to the left or right while running and they whiff their swings completely. Even with turning addons.
@panfriedd Now excuse me peasants! I have more levitating to do!
@panfriedd Half the killers that are projectile-dependent or require precise movement are unplayable on console. It is what it is
Yeah, he's pretty fun. But console will be a bit wonky as well due to the new lag spikes with the update. Other than that I love his character and playstyle.
Why does a green addon give 16m aura readings?
It actually makes no sense
That should make it 10 to 12 meters but last only 1 second. That way you can get an idea of where they are but not long enough to see them turn or react
@@squidwardenjoyer2904 or make it an ultra rare. Either would work.
Well it was an ultra rare on the PTB, no idea why they would change it to a green. It's definitely strong af right now
Why does it matter? Why can't a killer just have good add on. Considering everyone seems to think Blight is awful except a few.
@@anthonyrodriguez9232 because blight isn't awful he's great, he's actually amazing if you know what your doing like he can end chases extremely quickly and has amazing mobility. People just don't know how to play him and it's obvious from everything I've seen today. This add-on is overpowered and it's green and it's not like his other add-ons are bad like there's an amazing yellow one that decreases your rush tokens and increases Regen rate that one's amazing, his ultrarares a good and his purples are also very nice. He's doesn't need this it's literally an ultrarare that's turned green
Who else hears Darkest Dungeon in Blight's chase theme?
Me, I also hear Amnesia in the terror radius phases
Continue the onslaught! Destroy. Them. All.
@@GudJobb wow, that is amazingly fitting for blight
The best part of this video isn’t that it’s a movie length video of Scott, nor is it that it’s tips for when I eventually get Blight, the best part of this video is that Scott finally spent his got damn bloodpoints.
That add on is renjiros bloody glove on steroids.
"any killer that involves having to sit in and wait would never work"
Twins: hey 😎✌️
imagine how shite hes gonna be on rotten fields lol
can confirm he is shit on rotten fields
@@ScottJund Rotten Fields is one map I had only 4k on so far. Middle area is huge dead zone for survivors, and he can traverse map through middle so easy, use hooks and gens for slams.
@@DmitryPetkov I find his way bigger problem is that thanks to his size, he loses people far more easily in the corn, esp when he is rushing. You also better hope you do rush into the right objects and don't just glide away from them, because else you are getting catapulted into a field where you might not be able to hit anything
i played my first live-build blight match on that map lmao
I hate rotten fields even more than midwhich
Blight on console is actually not too bad. I've been practicing him quite a lot and he's actually pretty good. Even though I'm still pretty bad with him, he's fun as hell.
Absolutely agree, I'm averaging at about 3 kills per game with him in red ranks
Divine Judgement how i keep getting stomped as him
@@cyborgsupermanx6509 He's really practice intensive, definitely not for everyone
The bloodlust effect really throws me off lol
31:45 is so fucking funny, the fact that Scott was so tilted by it for some reason just made it better
tilted? i was bored, she just killed herself
Scott Jund yeah I know dude you were annoyed she wasn’t playing properly which I got, how unimpressed you looked just made the interaction funnier lmao
I love the sound effects like that growl he makes! It's so good

IMO the blight is good but they need to tweak his lunge on lethal rush so you can flick at least 45 degrees to hit someone
Man survivors will complain so hard
@@i_am_dementia9926 they already hate the idea
Then make it 15 degrees so he’s not completely broken
TheWeaver26 you know afk crows exist...right?
@TheWeaver26 BB Survivors
Dude, Blight is my absolute favorite.
The aura reading could be limited to 5 seconds after your first dash, then at least you won't have aura reading on them after 5 dashes
Dude, There was never a time throughout concept or release that I've ever thought blight was gonna be bad in any way. I'm really surprised people didn't expect this guy to be good.
I think he's the most well-designed killer out there. A high skill ceiling killer that takes time and effort put into him in order to produce excellent results, and it's dynamic throughout every map and game, with different situations, unlike nurse. While nurse is a flashy, high skill killer, she gets repetitive, and anyone who puts effort into just sticking with her can master her after a while. I hate characters like that. Think of widowmaker from overwatch. High skill, but braindead cause all you need to know is how to aim. Blight actually has to use his mechanic within the laws of the game, meaning that everything changes and it rewards creativity and flexibility. TLDR; fun killer go nyoooom.
Exactly, he seems inescapable if you path him correctly. Most RUclips’s just straight follow them while dashing instead of trying to cut off the survivors routes
I think people get the wrong idea about how to use his power, and they say hes shit because of it 😂😂😂 theyre wrong though hes decent.
FOR EVERYONE WHO'S GOT THE HOOK BUG, JUST STEP A BIT AWAY FROM THE HOOK SO THE BUTTON TO HOOK DISAPPEARS FROM THE BOTTEM, THEN GO BACK AND YOU CAN HOOK!
The music just reminds me of a resident evil boss theme. The shark tank in resident evil one! That's it.
Oh and his recovery speed is based on how many charges you use of his power, like the nurse the more you use the longer the fatigue
Just started playing Blight for the first time, my main after one round. He's so much fucking fun.
Fun fact about the Blight: during his development they used motion capture to try and figure out how somebody that short would move. They asked Patrick to take the role, but he declined.
Unlucky

I feel your pain with the maps Scott, the first game I got as blight someone brought a Haddonfield offering and a key.
when you reveal them with the green addon it gives you bloodpoints, sometimes you'd reveal them and not be looking at them/not realize.

I'm having a lot of fun with him too. The only problem is basically indoor maps and yamokoa. But when arent those problems tbf?
Literally tho. Screw yamokoa. Its even worse now. However, the changes on Springwood are amazing. The new breakable walls and stuff fixed so many issues with the map.
Layout-wise Springwood is pretty solid, but personally my game chugs in those areas with lots of trees-
@@squibbles_ Ya I wondered if people may have issues like that. I dont have it personally (probably because I have a high end pc), but I can see it being an issue for others. Hopefully they figure out better optimization.

Ok, well now I know how he spotted me from a corner, the add on. Thanks for clearing that up, I was so confused
I feel like I’m watching a blight mains beginning
The pinball may be strong but he is hard as hell
lol, truetalent thinks he needs to be able to 360 swing at the end to be viable
that would be extremely overkill IMO
I just dont understand why his fow is so low. Sometimes its hard to follow survivors around loops
Rip Scott’s 1.5 million bloodpoints
7:00 this guy is in a desert, has 3 helicopters enlighting him, tanks going HIS way, lasers from rifles all of his body and yet he's still like "I'm pretty sure he doesn't know I'm here..."
Edit : I'm watching every single game and at the 5th one I'm still noticing it's never due to the killer but due to the stupidity of survivors. (cf the Steve who gets grabbed by greeding a gen - the David who fakes a vault while the killer is right behind - The new survivor who can actually loop well but for some reason vaults back on the pallet in front of the killer - the Lisa who literally abandons the game, and many more.) and I'm only at 43min of video.
And yet there is nothing that I watch that makes me say "oooh you can do that as a Blight" or "ooooh very well played". I do play Blight pretty similarly, there is no real great secret, but clearly I don't have the same survivors... I'm hating on this game right now and this killer. He's bad af
What is the score event “compound 21 reveal?”
That’s his aura revealing addon just giving him blood points
Isaiah Galindo oh ok
When you realize that in the description of the Blight, it says “a Scottish chemist”... XD
Like the description for his playstyle and perks?
Ar the beginning of 2nd match, you get a notification for the compound 21 reveal and then say you must have gone to the wrong side of map and run away. Assuming you didn't know about the notification yet, will also trigger if someone is in locker. You don't always get the aura but the notification is OP.
Not really anymore since the range is alot smaller. Still a good add-on though
I'm definitely going to main blight
This is likely the beginning of me waiting to buy new chapters until cross-progression comes out on ps4. I can’t imagine playing blight on console.
well those were my thoughts since ptb that he s actually good if you understand him .. i had 12 4k streak with him in ptb broken by a lucky hatch and basically im survivor main that also plays killer
Ok
Ok
There's no matchmaking on ptb, so you were probably going against potatos
Dev's gonna nurf unbreakable
I'm actually really really enjoying him! Idc if he'll be an A or S tier killer or whatever the meta is, he seems strong and most importantly fun!
How fast would he be with PWYF and Nemesis? And then equip that add on that makes you undetectable every time you lethal rush?
Rush spends PWYF tokens, so no point in perk.
@@DmitryPetkov aww thats a shame
He's already a mobile killer what he needs help with is just getting through loops or setting himself up for out of position survivors so brutal strength STBFL assuming they nerf his aura reading add on he'll likely need something to replace it like BBQ.
@@millerrepin4452 i was just curious, thats why i asked. Just imagine how scary he would be if he could rush abd keep pwyf stacks. And if the survivor did get away with a pallet stun, and you rush and gain undetectable, it gave you a stack.
If it worked he would be a really scary killer to face
@@smoder45 Yeah good thinking but it's for the better if this killer couldn't do that.

@@ScottJund aah I see. Thanks for answering :)
First of all midwich is not universally hated....
The object users love it.
I love how 15 games are only about an hour and a half. Wonder how long all the loading times and waiting for lobbies make it
To balance compound 22 they should make the aura 8 meters and have it disable once you begin your dash. This assuming the purpose of the add on is to help keep track of the person you are chasing. If it IS meant for locating survivors, make it an iridescent for 16meters and a purple for 8. Should still disable after a dash imo though.
I love current release Blight, hes so much fun to play
yeah, how r u m8? hope pretty well
I had a thing yesterday where I came up like an inch to a wall, injected, bounced off thr wall and injected again. Wasted so much time and confused the hell out of me and my friend that I was chasing
I think that the only thing that changes the fatigue recovery is compared to when you hit a survivor and when you miss(missing depending on the amount of chains you’ve done)
Change suggestion for green aura addon 1. Make it Iri 2. reduce aura reading time to 3 or 4 seconds 3. Move the hindered Iri addon down to purple
I think they should make the aura add on sort of like the pink add on. Your first bounce gives aura reading, or somethin
I thought this would be a good and my favorite killer when I watched him in the PTB. Then they released him. I watched videos of him while I was at work, and thought he was definitely gonna be a great killer and my favorite in a long time. Then I played him tonight, and now I know he is both a great killer and my favorite, and I'll actually play a shit ton of killer. I mostly play survivor. A last thing is that I loved the Clown when he was released. I loved his lore, and even his power. I was a Milly main, then Doc, then Clown. I like having a mobile M1 killer. He's so much fucking fun!
I also love the aura add-on. I really hope they don't change it. I haven't played against it, yet, but it's my favorite lol
@@inskeeprulerable Yes, please please PLEASE don't change that aura addon. It has to be higher than green ratity? Fine. It is bonkers. But it's literally the most fun addon in existence!!

360ing in front of the hook got rid of the hook bug for me
Dropping the Survivor and picking them back is the consistent way to fix it but if they've been wiggling a while, they can just wiggle off for free
compound twenty one USED to be compound thirty three (which was an ultra rare) and they for some reason made it a rare and just made the ultra rare allow blight to break pallets with a slam lmao
If they do anything to Compound 21 besides change its rarity, I'm gonna have a conniption. That addon is by far my favorite thing about him and is stupidly fun.
I agree he is super good, takes some practice though, I like to see a high skillcap - the whole lunging thing is annoying with it being easy to dodge, but honestly I think you may agree if he had a better/normal lunge he may be too oppressive ultimately
Personally, I find him fun as well but there are a few things which make him very very frustrating.
1. Still colliding with things you shouldn't collide with.
2. Not colliding with things you should collide with.
3. The low PoV which makes dizzy, disorientates and lose Survivors in plain sight.
Personally, I love ALL the indoor maps - as either killer or survivor.
I'm struggling with him at the moment having a real hard time getting more than a two K , hopefully Scott plays more of him so I can pick up alot more tricks
Deep Darkness dont use his power at loops, use it when the surv you are chasing is transitioning between loops.
@@orbitingsentientsatellite4361 you can use his power at a lot of the main loops in the game like jungle gyms and pallet gyms. Just don’t use them at junk loops
With the new ruin undying combo people might actually start using maps
Best chase music in game
They should make the fences and railings M1 destructable
Blight is not as bad of a killer, with the right build he can be really strong. So with tinker and ruin it will acknowledge that a gen is almost done so you rush over there to degress it. Its all about keeping the gens from being complete
00:10 Bloodborne rat sound?
