I don’t know these albums or much about UK thrash. Sounds like some albums worth checking out. I would know a UK death metal ranking better like the album in your background :)
Great to see Slammer up near the top, but I agree it wouldn't come ahead of your top 3, all fantastic albums! Some other bands debuts that I think would make my top 10, at the expense of Onslaught and Lawnmower Death for sure, but then debatable on the others are D.A.M, Arbitrator, Holosade and Pendemia. Saw the current Xentrix line-up playing that album in full last week, it was awesome.
Good spotlight there James on the UK thrash bands. The top 4 are definitely of higher quality, although for me Sabbat would be at no.1. I do think as bad as lawnmower Deth, is the album title is pretty cool.
Nice list here James. For me Sabbat, Slammer and Xentrix are top 3. D.A.M. is one that comes to mind, should be on the list in my opinion. And maybe Hellkrusher's Wasteland, even though it's not pure thrash. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Between myself and my brother we had all those 8 albums in our house and also a few others, always liked our homegrown thrash bands, also saw slammer support yngwie malmsteen at sheffield city hall in 1988 I think it was.
Excellent video James. Some bands/albums that I haven't listened to, so I'll be adding them to my playlist to check out. Sabbat's "History Of A Time To Come" is fantastic, underrated also. I agree with the first place, that Xentrix record rules. How I wish to hear "Shattered Existence" & "For Whose Advantage?" for the first time again, I was absolutely mindblown by the (fast) guitarwork. 🤘 Small recommendation, check out the band Interpol. Just seen them last wednesday in Amsterdam, great indie-rock band from the 2000s. Maybe you already know them. 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your evening buddy, greetings from Holland. Cheers 👋😎
Some more UK thrash debut albums for you to check out, Deathwish - Demon Preacher, Anihilated - Created In Hate, Shrapnel - The Virus Conspires, Evile - Enter The Grave, Solitary - Nothing Changes. Reign Of Fury - World Detonation, better albums came later for some but i'll leave you to find that out. that should keep you busy tomorrow HaHa!! Absolutely awesome video me ode. annoying the neighbours right now
Hi James!!! Nice work and cool list of bands/albums.... as you might guess in the 80's i only heard US, German and some Sepultura thrash stuff, but nothing from the UK and that was odd..... don't know why. Now fast forward to a couple of years there in the VC i "discover" most of the band you showed and those records are all pretty cool, hard to get though but worth the listening and trying to add them to the collection..... How about next a German list?? cheers and be well
A German thrash list is a great idea Cristian. The UK Thrash definitely didn't travel well overseas. Thank god for the VC so we can all discover new music with ease. Cheers mate
Hey James. Great video! Out of all the albums you showed I was only familiar with 3 of the bands, Acid Reign, Sabbat, and Xentrix. I’m off to check out the others. Thanks for the info. Cheers

Great vid man! I for one always loved UK thrash! I personally would have included Deathwish "At the Edge of Damnation" (although their sophomore effort is better) and D.A.M. "Human Wreckage". Maybe also Cerebral Fix "Life Sucks...and Then You Die" although it's probably more of a grindcore album with crossover influences. I enjoyed the vid, keep it right up! Cheers, Daniel
First time I've ever commented on a RUclips video but really Xentrix over Sabbat cos I've tried for years to see or hear what others can but nah average at best is my humble opinion, otherwise loved the list some class stuff Cheers 🤘

Despite the horrible cover that " Hydra Vein " is a fantastic listen. It has honestly been on repeat in my car the last week!. I enjoy " Xentrix " and " Sabbat " as well. I have no problem with U.K thrash, Love it🤘
I saw Lawnmower Deth on the fabulous bozo clowns tour in my local pub - all dressed as clowns lol. Reanimator - local lads - are from my home town, im good mates with em all - the back pic is under the Humber bridge. Onslaught, Slammer, Acid Reign all good stuff - Acid's comeback album was excellent, one of the best - quite a surprise as most comeback albums suck lol . Xentrix are great, only done one bad album - scourge cough . Hellbastard 'Natural order' is one of the best UK debut albums of all time - anyway, great video James !!!
I saw them at the Agincourt in Camberley and they were such a good laugh. I also saw them supporting the rather more serious Death at the Astoria which was an interesting match up. Great gig though.
I prefer In Search of Sanity by Onslaught which is excellent although others don't think the same. Me too, never heard of Slammer. Never heard of Hydra Vein either, if its like early Slayer might give it a miss. History of a Time to Come is no.1 for me although Dreamweaver by Sabbat is even better. Shattered Existence is ok, I had it on tape when it came out and liked it for a while but not so much now. Not keen on the vocals. For Who's Advantage is ok too by Xentrix. What about Evile - not a big fan myself but pretty well known. Well done James for giving our thrash a mention.
In Search of Sanity is killer. Steve Grimmett did a great job on the vocals. Love that first Evile album but I was just really focusing on the first wave of Thrash. Cheers Paul as always fella 👍
