    Test Ride of the 2017 Ducati Monster 1200, made thanks to the Ducati Desmodue Dealership in Pisa, Tuscany, Italy.
    This is the bike I've had most feeling from the first moment I got on it, unfortunately I could only try it for 10 minutes, but I loved it. In sport mode the electronic assistance isn't completely disabled, but you can tweak everything with you thumb. The torque is always a lot, in every gear and at every speed. It's probably the bike I would buy right now.

      Like I said, demonstrates what the bike does without all the garbage speak and crap music, goes well, turns easy at low speeds and looks good :)

    I see that you were shifting without clutch, I assume by closing throttle. Is that right, or does it have additional quickshifter? Did you experience problem with false neutrals? I was riding only S version and quickshifter did have the problem with false neutrals from time to time. However nobody can confirm to me if shifting without clutch is even possible on this bike and if it does solve the false neutral problem. Btw. nice video, I like your style of riding, great rev matching downshifts ;)

    • @Axe991
      @Axe991  7 лет назад

      Hi! This bike didn't have quickshifter, I changed gear by closing the throttle for a fraction of a second. I experienced I think two false neutrals in my fifteen minutes with the bike, but I think if you get used do be more decise with your foot the problem goes away (never found a Ducati without this problem). Changing without clutch should be possible with every bike theoretically, and thanks for the compliment! :)

    Hi mate, which one has a much brutal acceleration, this or the new honda cb1000r from 0 to 160 km/h?

    • @Axe991
      @Axe991  6 лет назад

      I think they are similar, very similar. It’s a different kind of acceleration, but they’re both brutal.

    I think you would suggest to ride this bike with urban mode, if you do not have enough experience like me. I am thinking to get this bike and I was told that sport mode on this bike needs a lot of experience. What do you say about that?

    • @Axe991
      @Axe991  4 года назад +1

      I would say that if you don’t have much experience you should go with an 821. I have 12 years on bikes and still will not use all the power of the bike on the road. Urban is not fun, you loose all the torque. 821 in sport is much better even if it has just a bit more power

    • @buraktan6433
      @buraktan6433 4 года назад

      @@Axe991 Thanks for the reply mate. 821 sounds fun too. I guess I would ride 821 for couple of years and then switch to 1200 or 1200s. I hope for you to have safe ride all the time.

  • @TheJtkirk
    @TheJtkirk 7 лет назад

    It seems to have a lot of torque.Could you ride around town in second gear all the time or would you need third?I know you only had a short ride,but your best guess?

    • @Axe991
      @Axe991  7 лет назад

      +TheJtkirk I usually ride Ducati bikes keeping them in the low range, they are fun there. But I guess you could just use second and third for almost everything

    1200 have quickshifter or only s version?

    • @Axe991
      @Axe991  6 лет назад +1

      If I recall correctly it's an option on the base model and stock on the S version

  • @alexjames421
    @alexjames421 7 лет назад

    I've just bought one. Looks like most aftermarket exhausts for the 2014 - 16 model don't fit this. Have you seen any that do? Apart from the termi...

    • @Axe991
      @Axe991  7 лет назад +1

      I don't think the 2014 and the 2017 models have compatible exhausts, not even slip-ons. Right now the best choice, but also the most expensive one, would be the Akrapovic. They have the best sound and are in a partnership with Ducati.

    I sat on the new 1200S at the show here in Toronto and was so uncomfortable. I've wanted a Ducati for some time now and the Monster I thought was going to be it. I've soured on the bike and have started looking elsewhere,
    Then you show me this and that sound: what a great sound. This is what drew me to Ducati and twins in the first place. I will go and test ride one in a few weeks.

    • @Axe991
      @Axe991  7 лет назад +1

      Groagun The Monsters have always had a sportier riding position than other naked bikes, this makes them uncomfortable if you're not used to it. I personally prefer this position and the standard more upright one feels strange to me. I also have to say that the new 1200 is the bike I've had the most feeling with from the start.
      If you have the opportunity you should definitely try it, you'll be able to make a more informed decision 👍

    • @Groagun
      @Groagun 7 лет назад

      I'm totally with you on this. I am not looking for the bolt upright, almost adventure riding style or position. I'm to old and fat to do the hunched over clip on Panigale position so the Monster is the perfect style of bike and riding position for me.
      I will take the Monster out for a test ride this spring/summer but my impression, while just sitting on it was not good. The Triumph Street Triple was just so much more comfortable.
      I'm so in love with the sound and idea of owning a Ducati but I cannot afford to make the mistake of only listening to my heart and ignoring my head. If I was a rich bugger it wouldn't matter: I am not so my choice has to be the best one. We'll see.

    • @Axe991
      @Axe991  7 лет назад

      Yeah, following just the heart can result in problems later. But if you love Ducati (as I do), you can also try some other generation Monster, there are some subtle differences between this and the older ones, but the general a bit forward position remains a constant. Or you could try a Streetfighter.
      Consider also that you can adjust the seating height and that there are different seats and handlebars available (but I don't know if you can try them before buying.
      Let me know what you'll do :)

    ciao!complimenti per il video! vorrei chiederti due cose...la moto come va? le sospensioni di base sono buone? io vorrei passare dalla mia hyper 821 depotenziata( purtroppo) alla monster 1200 2017!però ho alcuni dubbi soprattutto sulla gestibilità del motore! a parer tuo è eccessivo per uno che arriva da una moto depotenziata? grazie in anticipo per le risposte

    • @Axe991
      @Axe991  7 лет назад

      +GOLF GTD MK7 ciao! Grazie mille per i complimenti 😊 Le sospensioni, di base, sono ottime, ma l'ho provata solo per 15 minuti, quindi non ho potuto spingerla troppo. Sono sicuramente più rigide della hyper. Per quanto riguarda la gestibilità del motore non dovresti avere problemi, l'importante è che utilizzi correttamente le mappatura e non disattivi i vari controlli presenti, almeno per il primo periodo

    • @golfgtdmk7602
      @golfgtdmk7602 7 лет назад

      Axe991 grazie mille! beh la hyper ha anche una escursione differente comunque sia sullo sconnesso la monster rimaneva abbastanza composta giusto?

    • @Axe991
      @Axe991  7 лет назад

      +GOLF GTD MK7 si sì, assolutamente. Lo sconnesso lo senti, ma la moto in inizia a rimbalzare da tutte le parti

    • @golfgtdmk7602
      @golfgtdmk7602 7 лет назад

      Axe991 azz...purtroppo abito in una zona disastrata come strade...vabbe bisognerà farci l'abitudine poi magari dopo un po' di km le sospensioni tendono ad ammorbidirsi nelle reazioni! grazie ancora!

    • @Axe991
      @Axe991  7 лет назад

      +GOLF GTD MK7 se le sospensioni tendono ad ammorbidirsi vuol dire che c'è qualcosa che non va! In ogni caso io ho avuto un paio di monster e alcune zone dove passo sono disastrate, si fa' l'abitudine
