For Cut Pressure, you can simply slide the green dot to the right to set the value. Once you are in the ballpark, use the + and - buttons to get to exact value.

Thank you for the video! When I change it to the score setting it makes parts of my font dissappear. Like half a letter will be missing in a word. Have you ever had this problem? Can you tell me why it's doing this and what I could do to fix it?
I want to let you know that you can NOT adjust the pressure of the A slot on the Air series Cricut Machines. You can only adjust the B slot. As you show in your video, you set the "CUT" pressure, which is the blade pressure. Pens or scoring tools work differently than the blade. I wrote a letter to Cricut support this week and asked them about this, because I wanted to validate my thinking. I bought Amy's original took and found it less than successful. When she released her new precision tool, I bought the tool for the Explore Air and it was just like the original tool. I returned that tool and replace it with the "Maker" tool, which goes in the blade slot. It works wonderfully!! Here is the info I received back from Cricut regarding my question about whether the A slot was pressure adjustable.

It is true! We can adjust pressure settings for cutting a matrial. The scoring and wirting part is works accordingly. There is no option to increase pressure while writing or scoring. There is nothing you are missing in this part.

I have been told that the A slot, which is for the pens and scoring tool, is pressure adjustable. It seems to me, this is not the case. The only slot that is pressure adjustable, in my thinking, is the B slot, which is for the blades. Is this how it is, or am I missing something? Thank you for your assistance in answering this question.

I did that so I could see if 5 was sufficient. I wanted the engraving deep.
Hi, great videos. Have you a video showing the sublimation process for the front of the tag, as I'm interested in both sublimation and the engraving.
Would like to know how to adjust where it engraves? I think it may have to do with the X and Y factors. My first engraving did not center where I wanted to be. I had it place exactly like the screen mat and it was off about a quarter of an inch. What do you think?

It feels like the tool doesn't sit well in the clamp, it can be pushed out while the clamp is closed. Does this happen with your machine? Just want to know if it's suppose to happen

Thank you for writing. You can engrave on any soft metals and balsa wood.

Thank you for the video! very helpful. There is one thing you didn't go over, you had it set to score and cut so when the engraving was done mine tried to cut and it made a mark on my plate. Am I supposed to watch it and cancel before it tries to do that or did I miss something about that?
Great question. Sorry I forgot to address that. Watch and cancel the cut. Or you can hide the rectangle to not cut at all. I have done it both ways.

Hello! This was a wonderful video! I wanted to ask you if there is a way to have pre-loaded images etched on the Cricut. I am interested in etching jewelry, and have saved images of signatures that I want to try to etch on my pieces. Will the Cricut etch something that isn't typed in using the fonts, such as handwritten messages, signatures, and small images?

Out of curiosity, why did you use the A slot and not the recommended B slot? If you replace the cutting blade with the engraving tool, it will engrave/etch instead of cutting.
She is using the earlier, A side tool, which has since been discontinued.
Where did you buy the tool to engrave with your cricut?
Amazon has these. I bought the one that was for $39.00. With 10 little stuff to engrave with. It's practice for me.. There's also some that is for $28 for tool by it's self. I dk if you've already ordered or received but I thought i'd help with the answer :)..

Any idea if you can do this on glass?
You can’t engrave glass. You need to use ‘glass etching cream’. First cut out and apply vinyl on the glass and apply the cream. Only takes a few minutes and then clean off.
So I followed your tutorial on the engraving tool. Followed every step. Now the problem im having is that I cant get my machine to cut through my vinyl all the way. I have checked everything, and this happened after I used this tool. Do you have recommendations on what I can do? My blade is not cutting through my vinyl at all. It seems like all its doing is scoring it.

Don't hit unload and hit the cut button again and it will cut in the exact same spot as it did the last time. Cheers!

Darlene, You did not miss it. I forgot to address it. I do one of two things: Turn the rectangle off so that it will not cut or watch the machine very closely and cancel the cut after the engraving has finished. The first one is the best one. LOL. Cheers, Carolyn
darlene roach I'm not sure how different they are, but I have the explore air 2 and there is a 'contour' button on the top of the layer panel. it allows you to click the sections to choose if they'll cut or not.

What is the difference in the cricut explore and the cricut explore 2 and cricut explorer gold. if the cricut explorer air blue e same as gold
debra hill The only difference between the are the colors of the machine and the air 2 has a faster cut option.

Hi I have a question. When I am trying to engrave on my aluminum it is trying to cut out my square/rectangle. How do I fix this?? I am very new at this.
Hide the square before you go to the cut screen.

I think a bonefolder is to think to go under the rollers. I'm getting ready to do some acrylic. I just waiting for my order to come in.

I not sure. I believe that the material would go through the machine without issue. I also believe the metal is soft enough to engrave.

Yes but you have to make sure to buy the right engraving tool. It's different for each Cricut.
Is that blade able to engrave acrylic?
I'm hoping so. I just placed an order for some acrylic blanks and I am going to try as soon as I get them in.

Hi, thank you so much for the video. I am very new to cricut, practically a virgin ciricutor. After you engraved your plate 5 times you let it cut 5 times as well so it would be a very defined image. My question is doesn't that kill your blade very quickly? Thanks so much

Note: if you use any tool that is not cricut branded on your cricut before one year after purchase, it will void your warranty. Just be careful.

+Annetta Ross It should fit snug. I believe they sell two different ones. One for the Air and one for the One. I would check to see that you have the correct engraver for your machine. Thanks for the comment!
Hi there, can you please tell me what thickness of metal you used please? and what is the thickest you have used that will work in the Cricut explore?
The material that you use must be thin enough to get under the rollers and the plate that I used was 1/8" thick. Hope this helps.

your custom materials are arrange alphabetically. simply look under the letter you want. it was there you just didn't see it.
Can you engrave stainless steel dog tags?

Is the Cricut Explorer 2 dishwasher safe?
I not quite sure, what you are asking. You can not place the machine in the dishwasher. The material you are cutting, will depend on that material.
Helpful information, but if it was practiced first the video would be half as long.
Or, use a simple video editor to cut the portions where she makes a mistake/doesnt know the answer.
Why show us clicking a button 225 times when she doesn't know to use the slider?
She was trying to help. She didnt have to show us this at all.

Listening to this was like listening to a 4th grader try to explain plasma technology. I appreciate the video but please learn the correct terminology for things before you record your video.
