You have a gift. Not just great skill with the Cricut, but your calm, clear directions that are so well thought out and delivered for any learner's skill level. Thanks for the video! You answered several of my questions today with this one video.
This is great! I'm awarding you the patience award for coming up with all of these clear and thorough steps to get an extra special technique that wouldn't normally be possible.
Shut the front door! This is an amazing cricut hack. Love how you explained everything so crisp and to the point without sharing your life stories 😂 amazing tutorial!
I'm usually too impatient to watch a video this long but was mesmerised by how clearly and calmly you explained the process - thank you! You have a new subscriber! 🙂
FINALLY! I found your video. Have spent the last three days trying to figure out debossing on my new Cricut. Not much help on their website and few design downloads on that appealed to me. Thank you SO MUCH! -- Had to edit my comment after watching the entire video -- You have saved the life of my Crcut!!! I have done crafting for more years than I care to admit (turned 78 this year!) -- but this Cricut machine almost got the best of me! Not now -- and tomorrow, I'm going to use your video, step by step, and show this annoying cutting maching who's the boss!!! It doesn't know how close it was to the recycling truck on Monday!!! Thank you again! And, as reqested, I've liked the video and subscribed! Can't wait to watch your other tutorials! (Another note: I didn't find myself snapping out of a daze in the middle, thinking about what I'm going to cook for dinner like I do on so many "wandering" videos by other people!)
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I’ve been wanting to do this very technique with my maker since I bought it!!! Admittedly I’ve been busy and distracted, so I didn’t research the how…. And here you are totally rocking this big time!!! Awesome!!
The amount of effort, time and multiple experiments is so bizzare ✨😍 a true genius indeed! Wonder if you can level it up with foiling that was mind-blowing to see 🤯 but fr hands down! All hail the wizard of cricut 💖😍
I've been considering buying a Cricut to use just for cutting, but now that I've seen that it can be used for embossing too I'll definitely get one. Thank you for a terrific video.
Excellent, excellent tutorial. The technique is exactly what I have been wanting to do and you present the material in a very efficient, precise, and easy-to-follow way. Thank you for a great tut.
So glad I found this Cricut emboss tutorial. You first taught me this method when I bought my Curio many years ago and I was happy with results. I definitely want to try it with my Cricut Maker and see the results. Thank you for the clear steps we need to use to get the best outcome.
Truly clever! Glad I found this video. I don't have a Maker yet, still using my Explore, but this is a project I want to do when I get a Maker. Thank you so much! Your videos make my designs sophisticated and desirable.
You are some kind of magical genius! WOW! Thank you for sharing this--an amazing feat, as I can only imagine the considerable "think" time, along with trial and error, until you perfected this method. I tip my hat!
Exceptional tutorial! I purchased a debossing tip a while ago but only used it for debossing. I've been wanting to do this for a while but couldn't find anything online to go through the steps with any clarity. Thanks for sharing...especially with what type of cardstock to use!
Excellent directions! I love that you voiced over your actions because it was so clear and easy to understand rather than talking while you're actually making the project. So professional. I still don't understand what the three dots were for, though. I have wondered if mirroring and using the back of a deboss would emboss, and yes, it does, but you have done all the work for us in figuring out the exact technique! I'll watch again and again till I get it right! Thank you.
This is so genius! I did have to watch this twice for the offset tool, you have written on the right side 0.02 while verbally saying -0.02, I would recommend putting -0.02 in the box to the right for the hearing impaired. I cannot WAIT to make cards with this idea! So cool!!!
This is brilliant! I have been working on greeting cards for about a year using cricut maker 3 and a cuddle bug for embossing. This is magical. Thank you so much!
This is a really appreciated tutorial. Am very new to using the Cricut and just learning to navigate and understand all the features. This process is totally over my head at this time, but like anything else, once you follow step by step and apply the process it will be much easier to understand and almost become second nature. Thank You
I don't have a Cricut, but I never miss one of your videos. I have been following you for years. I always learn something. Thank you for sharing all of your techniques and ideas. Also, I too use a wooden ruler when I use my Silhouette!
Thank you so very much for this tutorial is is So incredibly succinct and super helpful! I sooo very much appreciate people like you who take the time to make tutorials like this! Thaaaank You!
You are so clever to figure this out. I bought the Debo’s tip when I bought my maker and tried it once and wasn’t very impressed lol (sorry about the pun). So many things I’ve wanted to do have needed workarounds and I often question if it was worth all that money. Hopefully there are more clever people like you out there to figure these things out and make the machines more user friendly ❤️🇦🇺
What about using old cereal box cardboard to make your embossing stencil from? That might be more durable especially if doing multiples of the same design
If the stencil is too thick, the paper will rip. Plastic poster board or magnet sheets cut well, work well for embossing and are durable, but expensive, so its a tradeoff to find the material that works best for your needs.
Thank you! I just bought the tip and no idea where to begin, came across this video and loved how you explained everything! I never used the X and Y functions till now too and I've had my Cricut for a couple years. I just did my first practice run and it sure it so much cheaper than buying the Sizzix, grant all machines have their own amazing things, but I didn't think I would really use that, so I went this route and already am happy with the outcome. Thank you again!
Subscribed! Awesome and most clever technique from all the videos I've seen so far. Your work is awesome, I definitely enjoyed seeing that raised design!
Thank you for this stimulating video. I look forward to adapting this technique to support the detailed parts that go into my paper scuptures. You have a clear, logical and thorough way of presenting.
Wow, that is fantastic! And you are one of THE BEST 'you.tube teachers' out there. I love your calm tone and your well explained instructions. I just subscribed to you and will recommend you to others!
Great timing! I watched your 2017 videos just about a week ago and I've been trying to work this out in the newer DS. I used some stencil images from Design Space and have made a few, but with some other ones, I get to a point where my Maker will not find the knife blade. Even when I ask it to calibrate, it can't find the knife. I've been successful on three different tries, but those that can't find the blade drive me nuts. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or if my Cricut is defective. When I made a simple shape and ask it to cut it out, it does it just fine. When I get a little more time, I'll write my steps in another message. My biggest problem, as you said, was getting the Maker to cut and emboss (deboss) in the correct place. Your idea of putting the tiny circle on the mat is brilliant! Thank you!
So glad to hear someone tried the old way! LOL The knife blade shouldn't be a part of this process, old or new, though. So, if its asking for the knife blade and failing, then you need to choose a material setting that doesn't use the knife blade. However, if your Cricut can't detect the knife blade then that needs to be addressed with Cricut separately. Contact me at cleversomeday.com/contact if you need more help.
This is so neat. However I took it one step further. Before I debossed, from the front side I foiled my letters. Then when I flipped it and debossed the raised letters were inside the foil letters.
WOW! How on earth did you come up with this?! It's brilliant, thank you for sharing. Also great video, good clear speech and expert filming. Liked and subbed.
Thank you so much for this video . I’ve always loved embossing .. even tried it when cricut came out blank embossing folders to cut designs with cricut and emboss with cuttlebug ... I wanted to try your tutorial and finally had time today. Tried cutting an embossed letter . It was a challenge . But finally figured it out . Only have to play with material because I want a deeper embossing as I’m using gold foil paper by Anna Griffin. Don’t know if running deboss twice will be enough . Thanks again . Feel like I learned a lot today .
Thanks! I'm not familiar with that paper at all. If its pretty thick/stiff, you might need a larger inset (-.03 offset instead of -.02, for example) perhaps in addition to extra passes. And some papers may just may be out of range. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
Yes! I was thinking this might be an option with the new offset feature. I really wanted to try your other method but didn't have the software. Thank you so much for sharing this. You are awesome!
Thank you so much for this wonderful video! I knew if someone was going to offer this, mit would be you! Just great! Loved it and cannot wait to try it!
1. I don't have a cricut yet - I plan on getting one! I was just wondering, why you need a stencil/ template if the cricut has a deboss setting? (Why it couldn't just be straight on the card)- apologies if this is a silly question / it has already been answered! 2. Also, I was wondering Would you be able to emboss multiple sheets at a time if you put them on top of the template ? Or is that not possible as it would to be too thick. Thank you very much if you can answer my questions! Absolutely loved the video and how clear it was- I don't even have a cricut and I understood the majority so thank you!!
At about 30 seconds, I show a comparison on the Cricut debossing with and without the stencil. You may be able to emboss 2 sheets at the same time, but my guess is the quality would deteriorate on the second one if not both. You could, however, set up a stencil with multiple copies and run multiples that way, saving prep time.
You have a gift. Not just great skill with the Cricut, but your calm, clear directions that are so well thought out and delivered for any learner's skill level. Thanks for the video! You answered several of my questions today with this one video.

I love the idea of a ruler to hold the mat in the machine 💡

I learned to emboss years ago. Enjoyed doing it with mom & sisters. Those were the good ole days!
Wow, you are a great teacher. Your video and verbal directions are so clear. Thank you. I am going to see what other videos you have.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Yes, you can add foiling. How you do that exactly will depend which side you want the foil on and where you want it.
Thank you. The most clear and non rushed presentation of Cricut instructions I have found. Thumbs up and subscribed!

I guess I am kinda randomly asking but do anyone know a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Parker Mekhi Flixportal :D
@Muhammad Vivaan Thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I really appreciate it!!
@Parker Mekhi happy to help xD

acck. sorry about that error, and the fact that RUclips videos can't be corrected without starting over.

All I can say is "SO COOL"! I have a different machine but think maybe I can use these techniques on it, will see.
Great demo
Perfect instructions!!!
1.
I don't have a cricut yet - I plan on getting one!
I was just wondering, why you need a stencil/ template if the cricut has a deboss setting? (Why it couldn't just be straight on the card)- apologies if this is a silly question / it has already been answered!
2.
Also, I was wondering
Would you be able to emboss multiple sheets at a time if you put them on top of the template ? Or is that not possible as it would to be too thick.
Thank you very much if you can answer my questions!
