This video is a testament to unconventional craftsmanship, where creativity and determination bring a neglected yard space to life. From the labor-intensive process of digging holes and meticulously crafting wood joinery with mortise and tenon joints to the awe-inspiring raising of the timber frame structure, installation of rafters, roof lats, 12v lighting system, polycarbonate roofing, gutters, and the painstaking work of excavating, leveling, and creating a stunning paver patio. Every step, including sanding and staining the wood, was infused with passion and dedication. The end result is a breathtaking gazebo that elicits a resounding 'WOW' from everyone who steps inside.

Possible to share the polycarbonate sheet details you have used ?
@@VG-13855 I don’t have any but plan on making a video about the polycarbonate in the next 3 months.
Overkill, I love it.
Forget the build. Look at your boys helping you. That's truly priceless.
Truly is! Hard workers they are!
damn... crap load of work for a 1 person job. My back hurts just watching the video. Mad props to you. Turned out to be freaking awesome.
Amazing!!! all with small / hand tools, a lot of hard work. Beautiful project.
Thanks! Appreciate the comment
I love watching the little ones help. 😍😊
Я с рейсмуса офигел. Первый раз такое вижу как можно с ним работать. Классно 👍.
awesome! Thanks!
I'm giving you massive props! The fact you went old school (which is twice as hard)! Looks great! I wish I had the energy to do that in my backyard! You went all out and showed hella skills my friend!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
What an amazing build - truly impressive to do all of this 98% on your own.
You've got huge balls.
Thanks! I’ll show the wife this comment and see if she agrees 😂
Now that was an interesting use of the bench planer. 😉😉
Thanks! Desperate times calls for desperate measures.
I can just imagine the last scene when you finally sat down and enjoyed your amazing build, thinking 'at last'. Well done
Indeed 😂 Thanks for watching
Svaka čast!
bravo!!! ouha!!👍
I feel proud of people that can archive such a great skill..
god bless you great job best one ive seen yet
Excellent work. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks! Appreciate it
Hello. You've done a lot of hard work. The work is monumental for such a small area. Your wife should carry you in her arms and be proud of such a hard-working man. I hope your health hasn't suffered too much. Glory also to your helpers and your biggest fan, your son. Greetings to you and everyone from Poland!
Thanks for the comment! I will show the wife 😂. Cheers Poland!
Beautiful project! I am impressed to see someone utilizing old school joining techniques as opposed to simply relying on bolts and fasteners alone... but seriously wear safety glasses...
Thank you very much!
+1 for safety glasses. I almost lost sight in my right eye from not wearing them.
Very respectable....jealous you had the gear to move stuff. Love the blue skin but to take it a step ferther if they arent pt (as yours are clearly not) is to burn the ends that will be buried. Just a passion of mine. You totally have demonstrated practical old values in timber framing...
Huge respect
Nice job on the Gazebo !
Loved this project. This is very similar to what I want to do with our patio. Thanks for posting. I'm gonna save this one for referance when were ready. Love that you got the kids involved. Dad points!!!
Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked it. I’m hoping to get more videos explaining each part of the build in separate videos. Stay tuned for more! Cheers 🍻
Maaan! This is one of the best builds ive seen.
The attention to detail, the quality, everything. Well done!
Thank you very much! Really happy you noticed my attention to detail!
And then the HOA comes and hands you a notice 😂😂 just kidding! Looks amazing brother! Inspired me for sure!
Fenomenale
Man that feeling of sitting under the gazebo with the family after all that hard work is priceless. Congrats!
Yes it really is priceless!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWW I have neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr seen anyone work as hard as youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!! It made my back hurt just watching you work----Real NICE job
Thanks for watching! Had to complete it !
Nice job 👍 i just recently did a dyi 130m long fencing 2.5m height, paving 250sqm bbq area, gates, landscape etc in 3 months by myself. Home project. I feel your pain. But I end results wow. I used cida. Full privacy wall. First time ever home wood working/ paving/ electrical installation etc. Turned out very modern.
Next step maybe small pool, and large cazebo 😂 with pizza and bbq counters / bar area.
Nice! I’m also going to build an outdoor bbq area under there next summer! Stay tuned for those videos!
I love that you used hand tool for the tenon and mortise joints. That styles of joining has proven to last over a millennia. Very cool. And hard to find video examples.
Thank you! Yes I also struggled finding something similar and hopefully my video helps others with timber frame joinery. Theres also no other way to cut them without hand tools unless you spend thousands on crazy expensive timber framer tools. I also bought a book and wanted to learn how to do timber frame joinery
@@mateostabio Exceptional knowledge to have and pass to your posterity.
I love what you did with the plane saw 😆
I like the way you allowed your child to join you in building this... learning process
20 minutes in and I was like "This guy knows what he's doing. A but brutish, but quite effective nonetheless."
And then, he broke out the RYOBI planer and I was like "What an idiot!"
But when he let the planer move itself down the timber, once again, I was impressed.
Well done, Sir! I wish RUclips would let me post the Leonardo DiCaprio GIF of him raising his glass!
Thanks for the comment and all the mixed feelings 🤣. Cheers!
Start to finish great job...
Thanks for the comment!
amazing job coming from a contractor 😀😀😀
Grande ammirazione a te x un grande e bellissimo lavoro, e complimenti ai bambini simpaticissimi x aiutarti
Grazie!
Wow beautiful
Just digging the holes for the foundation.Looked like a pain in the ass😂 I am glad I live in florida where there is no rocks😂
It really was! Lol
Very impressive. I love the design. I am just looking to build a bunk for fire wood at my sauna. This is way more than what I need, but I could not stop watching this project. Nicely done, my friend.
Thanks for the comment. Appreciate it! Thats one build im looking to make this summer, firewood storage probably timber frame build. Are you making it out of 4x4? Or 6x6 id love to see what your building
@@mateostabio I am using reclaimed telephone poles for the posts. So far, I have the posts, now I need to move onto the roof. I can only work when I have time. So it's been a slow process. But I am having fun with it.
The body language of the wife with her arms folded looking at the mess you made in the driveway is priceless.
😂😂
She's probably happy now. 😁
Came here to watch the gazebo build, ended up watching the whole project for nearly an hour. A good job done properly. UK here.
Thank you!!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Same intensions here. Massiv build the old school way. Great! 👍I hope you did get a back massage evey day😃. Germany here
@@Dutch58 I'm actually doing mine at the moment 😆. 6x6 oak posts but only 2.m meters. I have 6 of them to cut, chisel out, level, post shoes etc... all on my own. my whole is aching!
Well done.
chief I must say I've now watched this video finished from start to end. this really turned out amazing and the fact that you went old school made it so much more interesting there is quicker way out there but yeah the old school does it for me. thanks for sharing I'm looking forward to the next project. this is to me a true reflection of DIY I've seen on the internet so far with all the struggles. other or previous videos made it look so easy forgetting we don't always have the resources available on hand. we sometimes have to go and rent the tools we require to get these DIY projects done. #southafricaposted
This is exactly it, You got it. I wanted something original, that didn’t use metal brackets, and so I designed a minimal structure with old joinery. All the videos out there are about how you can make a gazebo in 4 hours, but I wanted a masterpiece that would last 50 years. Thanks for the comment!
Really nice!
Thank you!
Great job ! OMG I’ve just got tired watching you build this thing it looks amazing !
Superb work! Well done.
Unbelievable quality. What a top job ✨
Thank you!
That's looks really amazing and great work too; was definitely worth watching all of it.
Thanks! Appreciate it
YOU MADE A AMAZING JOB CHÉ. SOS UN CRACK
Gracias amigo!
Nicely done!
Wow thanks! Mr. Jeff commenting on my video! I watched a few of your videos for the gutters haha.
Nice work. Great detail and quality
Thanks!
Wow! Nice gazebo
Way to go. I am building a skillion post and beam cottage. Building pavilion with walls basically.
Nice! Good luck with that!
I must check your channel to see if you are recording your work.
Aww, no. However, congratulations on the gip!
I would expect no less amount of ingenuity and perseverance from an Italian 👍🏼
How the heck does he know that many trades. Its a must see video. Great job
I researched! I watched youtube videos! I figured it out 😝😂😂
Love themethod of jacking up the post and the planer riding along the beam...very smart!
Thanks! Two things that took me a long time to come up with a solution! Thanks for watching!
Good (and hard!) work! After seeing such nice backyard and that super/uber gazebo, I have to wait for the mega Parrilla that matches that! (el "alla, Lucas!" te deschavo") Saludos
Loved the whole watch! Good job!
Wow!
FELICIDADES A ESTE PADRE DE FAMILIA QUE BUSCA DARLE CONFORD A SU FAMILIA, ES DE ADMIRARSE EL EMPEÑO Y AMOR QUE LE PONE A LAS COSAS QUE HACE EN COMPAÑIA DE SU FAMILIA, DIOS BENDIGA A ESTE HOMBRE🎉🎉🎉🎉
Gracias ❤️
Awesome
Mate you are a machine, watching you reminded me of a similar gazebo build I did years ago. May you enjoy many years to come with your family. Oh the drone images & video editing was excellent as well, well done buddy.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Mad props on the thickness planer trick you did there.....
Hats off to you. Well done!
Grüße aus Deutschland und einfach mega geworden. Hut ab und da kannst mehr als Stolz auf Dich sein 💯👌
Congratulations for the amazing project. You are a good teacher with your kids, your most value co-workers. God bless your family!
Thank you very much! Thanks for the comment.
super beau travail felicitations monsieur
Merci beaucoup! J'apprecie votre commentaire :)
Дело мастера боится! Как красиво у вас получается всё, что бы вы не делали!
That was awesome! Even better to have your family help! Good job!!!
Super
Re-wacthing your video! You are a BEAST!!!
Well done bru! Stellar job.
Thanks!
More of these landscape vids bro!
This summer!
SO satisfying to see those pavers go down
That young man was very impressive. Super job!!
Thank you!
Wow really impressed - well done 👍 looks fantastic
Thank you!
@@mateostabio I wish I was a skilful as you brother
Those pavers are huge! It all looks so great!!
Being able to have the knowledge and skill to build projects like this is priceless. Especially when it's to improve your own house. Great job!!!
Well said!
Wow, you killed that. Great job!!!
Fantastic came out great! Much props! 🫡
Thanks!
So impressed. Love it!!
17 min in and I'm feeling PAIN ... this massive labour INTENSIVE. the cost to hire this guy n occasional friend would be astronomical. yes I understand he is building for himself but oppurtunity cost / time is enormous. hope he loves it n feels tremendous pride when retelling the story to visiting friends n family. great work but ....
Yes indeed, everyone that sees it says its a masterpiece, I am very proud of every decision I made on this build. We are very happy with the end result, and we definitely enjoyed the summer all building this backyard as a family. Thanks for the comment! Keep watching!
I just went to check what was going on at 17 minutes… yes and yes, the rafters took me about 2 weeks to complete. Remember i also have a full time job, but this was very hard on my body haha. I was mentally and physically exhausted while lifting those rafters.
Wow.. that looks amazing..
BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Amazing
Awesome build. I love that you got your sons involved. My father did the same for me when I was his age, I love DIY and hard work and just accomplishing things and getting it done. Good job!
Thank you! Yea, its something every parent should do so the kids learn to figure it out by themselves just like the parents! Cheers
I’ve got to send this to my brother in law! He’s currently renovating my Grandmothers 100 year old house and a pergola is something he’s highly considering. Anyways, I’m into joinery methods and this was such a blast to watch! That sucker won’t be coming down for a very long time not to mention visually it’s stunning! A beautiful spot by the pool with electricity, lighting and music… perfection! More pls
Thank you! More to come !
Espectacular 👏👏👏
Incredible job
One of the best Gazebo builts I have ever seen! Thank you for the journey!
Thank you! gracias!
Got your email about wrapping the posts, what is your concern? The bottom? Why I didn’t wrap the bottom bottom?
I forgot about this until today!
@tabio, precisesly! Why you didn't wrap the bottom bottom? Looking into my spam email your reply!!!
Awesome build! My back hurts just from watching.
You and me both!
I thought you were putting a solar panel on that thing when I first saw the material. Everything looks great.
Maybe in the future! I think it could produce quite a lot of power
Probably saved a bunch of money doing it yourself. But the satisfaction and spending time with your family is priceless.
Truth! In my other video I should how I saved over 42k$!
Necessity truly is the mother of invention!! I watched with pure amazement as you angled the planer over that long beam!! And, your little assistants did a good job too!!😂
your wife definitely loves u buddy👊 props to u
I appreciate that
Love those little helpers!!! So awesome!
wow !
Legendary great job man
Thank you!
This is such an impressive achievement. Thanks for demonstrating that with skill and ingenuity you can build something amazing without every (and the most expensive) power tools in the store. So much old school there, like when I was kid helping my dad build. I haven’t read the comments, but I’m sure there are a fair number taking you to task for no safety glasses and for your lack of ladder safety, but what I noticed more was the way your kids helped their dad. Thanks for sharing this video. BTW, I found you first on the video about raising the pool deck and paving the yard. Kudos on all if it - I’m sending these to my son with a note to get busy.
Amazing comment. Really appreciate that. Really glad you enjoyed it. My kids also really enjoy helping their dad! Thanks for sharing the video!
You did a great job and your boys had fun helping you !
Masters on action
Beautiful job
Outstareat! Great watching your sons following and helping you.
Thanks for watching!
