This video is a testament to unconventional craftsmanship, where creativity and determination bring a neglected yard space to life. From the labor-intensive process of digging holes and meticulously crafting wood joinery with mortise and tenon joints to the awe-inspiring raising of the timber frame structure, installation of rafters, roof lats, 12v lighting system, polycarbonate roofing, gutters, and the painstaking work of excavating, leveling, and creating a stunning paver patio. Every step, including sanding and staining the wood, was infused with passion and dedication. The end result is a breathtaking gazebo that elicits a resounding 'WOW' from everyone who steps inside.

Yes indeed, everyone that sees it says its a masterpiece, I am very proud of every decision I made on this build. We are very happy with the end result, and we definitely enjoyed the summer all building this backyard as a family. Thanks for the comment! Keep watching!

I just went to check what was going on at 17 minutes… yes and yes, the rafters took me about 2 weeks to complete. Remember i also have a full time job, but this was very hard on my body haha. I was mentally and physically exhausted while lifting those rafters.

Awesome build. I love that you got your sons involved. My father did the same for me when I was his age, I love DIY and hard work and just accomplishing things and getting it done. Good job!

Thank you! Yea, its something every parent should do so the kids learn to figure it out by themselves just like the parents! Cheers

I’ve got to send this to my brother in law! He’s currently renovating my Grandmothers 100 year old house and a pergola is something he’s highly considering. Anyways, I’m into joinery methods and this was such a blast to watch! That sucker won’t be coming down for a very long time not to mention visually it’s stunning! A beautiful spot by the pool with electricity, lighting and music… perfection! More pls

This is such an impressive achievement. Thanks for demonstrating that with skill and ingenuity you can build something amazing without every (and the most expensive) power tools in the store. So much old school there, like when I was kid helping my dad build. I haven’t read the comments, but I’m sure there are a fair number taking you to task for no safety glasses and for your lack of ladder safety, but what I noticed more was the way your kids helped their dad. Thanks for sharing this video. BTW, I found you first on the video about raising the pool deck and paving the yard. Kudos on all if it - I’m sending these to my son with a note to get busy.
