      ..also how to set up with proper ventilation and suggestions about about how to set up a well ventilated area in a cold climate when venting through an open window will compromise the correct curing temperature of the resin (this is where I am stuck).

    Thank you for this! I have roses drying from my grandmothers funeral and my mother wants me to preserve them like this. I learned almost 3 years ago about using the dremel - sadly this is AFTER I gave myself tendinitis in my palm from sanding a paperweight. Now I use the dremel - try the flail wheel!!! - and sanding blocks. Makes life so much easier.... now to get rid of the tendinitis. Still in physical therapy from it!

    I love my Dremel!!!😍 Mine is actually from another brand but it works the same. I have an accessory for my, so to speak an extension that is clamped like any other tool. The handpiece is much thinner, so it is much easier to handle, similar to a pen. You have more freedom of movement and can reach some places much better.
    This piece turned out so beautiful, I can totally understand your euphoria!🤩🥰

    • @diedregarrard8013
      @diedregarrard8013 2 года назад +1

      I have a WEN rotary tool (both corded and cordless) that came with, probably, the same accessories as yours. I've owned that Dremel as well and I would have to agree that the thinner handpiece is easier to handle. I was afraid I would end up gripping it harder in order to have more control but I feel like I don't grip it as hard as I did the Dremel. Having carpal tunnel in both wrist and a liteny of nerve issues, the lighter my grip - the longer I am able to use said tool.

  • @MileyonDisney
    @MileyonDisney 2 года назад +15

    It's beautiful. I'm guessing the sides of the top coat are wavy from using the Dremel tool, which will make the sanded part wavy. I'm only trying to help, but I would suggest using a sanding block to smooth the Dremel'd part, after you did the majority with the Dremel. You do some awesome work, and I know the owner of those flowers is going to be very happy with them.

    • @erinhallmakes777
      @erinhallmakes777 2 года назад

      I noticed that too and I think it's more so usually from the mold shifting slightly as the resin cures. To me all of the sides of a piece need to either be cut off on saw or sand and smooth. For very even edges I would actually recommend using a flush trim router

    • @marikiemarie7622
      @marikiemarie7622 2 года назад +1

      The tool didn't cause the waves. That's light reflection

    That is a gorgeous piece! I wish my dried flower pieces turned out 1/8th of the way your piece does. I always have some sort of issue with mine. Either the flower changes color or there is an air pocket I missed or my resin ends up yellowing. I've just about given up doing flower resin pieces. Keep up the wonderful work!

    Welcome to the world of Dremel. Actually several of the heads are very useful, not just the sanding drum. I use the diamond carving bit set from Harbor Freight for details sanding and signing my resin work. The cutting tips can be used for carving work. Lots and lots of uses for dremel.

    I wonder if a nail drill (efile) would work just as well as a dremel? You can pick them up quite cheaply online as well as sanding bands that look about the same as the dremel ones dirt cheap in bulk. As well as various other bits of course. They also have a much smaller and easier to hold hand piece.

    Rotary tools can hop on the edges making grooves... If you can angle it a little - it hops less. Also following with a solid block or emery board can remove grooves.
