About this game:
We fused card games and roguelikes together to make the best single player deckbuilder we could. Craft a unique deck, encounter bizarre creatures, discover relics of immense power, and Slay the Spire!

Well it can really help if you want to get more cards.

The danger is that you could be low on cards, which can get you killed by elites.
World 2 question marks in particular can give you the vampire event. It makes it so easy to gain HP from regular enemy fights.
depends what you need, fights give you cards and gold, question marks can be great but can also give you nothing at all if you don't meet the requirements
But how is he going to get a bloated, unfocused deck if he does that?

Remember 2 runs ago when he couldve used Feed, didnt use Feed, and we all bashed our respective heads against some type of hard object?
I don't blame him for making play mistakes when learning a game, and I'm glad he's getting better. I'm honestly just pointing out things he could've done better/differently so he can learn from them in later runs.
I wouldn't really call learing how to count as learning the game.. but you know... The man is a mystery.
I saw him solve a music puzzle in undertale in 30 seconds, it's hard to bash on him now.

It physically hurts me how bad NL is at quickly calculating what will do the most damage and if an enemy will die or not.
That's not even the issue for me: in games like these, you don't have to quickly "do" anything. It's better to take 5 extra seconds to think before acting, which will in turn save a lot more time in the long run anyway.

@Ciclopotis Except NL takes 5 seconds to decide to take 5 seconds, then half asses his calculations for 5 seconds, then realizes 5 seconds later he miscalculated anyways.

Wounds are added during combat, you'd need to remove them with a card.
Actually he is realively safe from them now - have some ways to counter them and huge deck also helps. Well relativly safe if he plays reasonably... so...

Sever Soul in that shop would've been great for you. You could use it to exhaust wounds and dazes that make your Clashes whiff.

He completely ignores how good severed soul is because it cost 2 energy, he is a simple and dumb man like that.
He ignores it because he doesn't like exhausting cards. Even when Exhausting is a gigantic benefit for his deck. Its actually insane.

Dual Wield Anger instead of Clash...? Am I missing something here?
He was trying to metagame waaay more than he needed to by trying to create more anger copies, that would then copy themselves more. I think.
Yeah, egghead was just being a dumbo and forgot that Clash does like a million more damage than Anger, whose sole saving grace is doing slightly less than a Strike for free, even if it copies itself into your pile exponentially -- Strength+Anger stacking is a fantastic build if NL had a draw-based deck, but noooo.

Demon form is one of the best cards in the game and he picked deal 3 when you gain block, instead of every turn gain three for every card you have that also stacks.
The complete lack of common sense and basic math skills are infuriating.

The "huge misplay" at the final boss tilted me so much I started laughing. Can't help but empathize sometimes; I know the feels so good.
Exhausts Perfect Strike so he can play a Strike and leave 2 energy left was my favorite part. NL figuring out what Pen Nib did then forgetting and only winning because the math wouldn't let him screw it up was almost as good.
Stop buying bad cards. Stop wasting potions. Buy Strength Potions and save them for the last boss.
I love your videos egg, but this video made me so angry I could hardly watch it just because of your sheer incompetence. See you next video!

theory: he's being paid to do this stuff to irritate us so that we buy the game to do things right ourself.. it at least feels like that but he is just an egg
what's better, 3 strikes and ending the turn or 3 strikes and a clash since clash costs 0... hmm... looks like doing extra free damage was a worse option since he didn't choice it.

Jesus, just take 15 seconds to think through your decisions. There's no time limit on anything. These are embarrassing misplays.
My entire thoughts about the second level boss fight: congratulations you played yourself
Hey NL, a few usefull tips (Spoiler Free):
- A good tactic is to keep the deck neat and small. You can simply choose not to take any of the cards if they do not match your play/strategy. Because a large deck with a lot of mediocre cards or useless cards for you current strategy.. is a pain in the ass. You just keep drawing the wrong cards instead the one you need in the given situation, the one important for your strategy.
- When you choose an attack card and hover with the arrow on the enemy, look down on the card and it will show you the ACTUAL attack power. Because the cards in the bottom always only show the damage YOU deal based on your current strength. But after you chose the card and hover with the arrow on the enemy you want to attack, it will THEN calculate / take into account the enemies debuffs and the card ability itself, if it has an strength multiplier.
- Relics are life. Whenever you can, get a Relic. But save money for a possible Apotheosis in the shop, it is almost a game winner.

I am starting to wonder if he is actually stupid.
He's not stupid in a general sense. He's just quite slow at thinking.
He wants to play fast but his brain can't keep up.
KSP is a slow game but he still made incredibly stupid choices. In almost every single game he displays a complete lack of basic common sense.
Even in BOI, a game he has played for many years, he fucks up all the time
At least spell choices correctly.

HE DUPLICATED ANGER INSTEAD OF CLASH THE MADMAN
After starting to beat the game quite often I can safely say that you need to build your deck in order to acomplish 4 goals. Once you do that you are basically set on the win unless you get fucked because of rng. So once you have:
1. Block - get them +8 blocks, around 1/3 of your deck
2. AoE - multiple enemies encounters (attacks and powers, 1-2 cards really)
3. Single Target - bosses (something like a main attack card + substitutes)
4. Buffs/debuffs (and powers) - bosses and encounters / single target damage enabler (stack 'em, they are op)
You win, just like that.
Add a good relic or two and you are killing everything withing few turns. That's for Iron Clad. Dunno how's it like for the poison lady.
P.S. There's a really fun build that allows you to kill with almost exclusively block cards. Noone stands a chance, probably the easiest to win with.

Edit: Nevermind he plays like shit for the rest of the game, it has been a while since i saw him being this damn bad at a game, the mismanagement, the blindness, the negligence, the completely flawed logic and the contradictions between what is said and what is actually being done, this is such a classic NL, what a way to start ending the year.

Nl, please stop using bash AFTER all your OTHER attacks. The vulnerable it applies would make you do more damage.
Also just because clash is ‘free’ doesn’t make it the best card you had.

the worst thing is that he took the shitiest of the 3 power, juggernat is worst of both barricade and demon form especially with the build that NL has right now
Right demon form worked for him last time and will wiper even better with the extra energy cards he has goin on

He has multiple free ways to attack and gain strength so gaining 3 extra damage on all attacks that stacks an extra 3 every single turn can easily make him kill very high health enemies in just 2-3 turns.
But no he took deal 3 damage every few turns that only pops once or twice.

Really enjoying this series. Demon form is one of the most powerful cards in the game.
at some point I had like two Demon Form+ I became a God it was amazing
Not really, there are quicker, more efficient ways to get strength. I'd say it's an average card at best. A powerful card isn't just the one that EVENTUALLY generates the most damage if the time that it takes to get there is valuable.
+3 damage to everything per turn is very quickly going to be really much tho. On the 2nd turn with 4 attacks its 12 extra damage. On the third turn with 3 attacks its 18 extra damage. On the 3rd turn with 5 attacks its 45 extra damage...
SpasticSurgeon pls give examples of quicker and more efficient.

Flex+Limit Break combo is more flexbile, doesn't hog a whole turn (infact costs just 1) and can get out of hand even faster without the clunky setup. If you ever get 2 Flexes (which is a good thing to have in your deck anyway) you can get 16 Power for 1 Energy and then Pummel someone for 90 Dmg Turn 1.
Obviously, if you can set Demon Form up and hold the gates for a few turns it's nuts, but the most efficient decks i've played cleared level 3 Rooms in 1 or 2 turns, so there was no need to set it up.
Extra Energy Relics + Offering + Battle Trance into whatever disgusting combo you want to throw at the enemies has a way higher ceiling of damage.
How NL almost lost this run: He worshipped Clash too much, almost to the point where he's working that shaft. Oh, and he doesn't math right.
Those misplays during the final fight actually hurt my soul...
CLUTCH NIB
Pen Nib MVP. Its saved my ass several times too. There is good balance in this game damage wise and it shows this when items like Pen Nib disrupt it and tip the scales slightly towards the player at times.
The pen nib clutch reminded me of my clutch win against the final boss with the top relic. It gives a card when you have 0 cards and kept giving me 0 energy attack cards and flexes. Was able to kill the boss when I by all rights should have died
How can an egg be mentally challenged.

You are too scared of Elites. Getting the relics is the way you win the game. With the deck synergy you had you would have been fine and could have healed at the camps.
Depends on the deck though. The one he's running barely has any dependancies on Relics - yes, the energy relics are always amazing, but ultimately not necessary.
If he'd pilot that deck correctly and upgraded a lil' smarter he'd breeze through Floor 2 without takin' any damage.

Upgrading armaments is pretty worthwhile. It upgrades all cards in your hand for the rest of combat!

Apotheosis has definitely been a godsend on the few runs that I've gotten it, but I'm definitely with you on it's rarity. I almost never see it AND have enough money for it.

This deck is just all over the place. You actually had a nice build around clash but then you took way too many skills. Sometimes it's better to skip a card draw and keep the deck smaller.

THE BAD PLAYS are killing me
Btw my best runs by far work from using combustion and brutality in combination with the card that gives you 1 STR for every card damage you take. Combine that with J.A.X and hemokinesis and you will get so much STR that your attacks will do over 50 dmg. The only way to survive is to get the reaper card tough.
That turn on the boss with all the clashes and the defends and the world's worst dual wield may be the most pain I've felt for a week and I had a tooth removed two days ago.
NL, you should go watch PenNib at play haha. It clutched the game so many times, and I don't think you noticed it when it was working. The extra damage confused you a number of times xD.
